handsomebanana: It is crazy how supposed educated people think. I'm a Yoruba man and I don't feel bad Bode George was imprisoned. In fact, I was incensed at the party he threw after release. The family of a thief should hide in shame, not claim that their family is being persecuted. 5 Likes 1 Share |

All she had to say that corruption case against Diezani is because she was a PDP member and EFCC is one sided. |

This is the problem with this so called feminism. Diezani stole nausea-inducing sums of money and she's wants to make this a gender issue. Diezani hasn't even been punished and most likely will escape justice much like her corrupt male counterparts, so why the cry of sexism. Nigerians shouldn't complain again because it's a woman involved? 1 Like |

Timbuktuo: I agree with you 101%. I am happy that Tafa Balogun was removed from office and jailed. The thing is, unlike other Nigerian tribes, Yorubas are generally different when it comes to shielding a thief from their tribe, it is against their culture and that has been the case from time immemorial.... until recently when shamelessness seems to have become a badge of honor amongst all Nigerians. 3 Likes |

cgniyi: Someone said "Women dont know much generally but the moment they know a little more, they become a problem not only to themselves, but to society at large". Sexism and feminism is just an excuse for incomeptence, weakness and inadequacy. Men also have "gender", as in male gender but you dont see them attributing their failures to their gender or trying to buy opportunity with their mal anatomy. Women should just become EQUAL (if they can) or just STFU. 2 Likes |

I condemn dis senseless statement frm Adichie. Many Nigerians respect people like Adichie, not for any tangible achievement but simply because some foreign people celebrate her. Many hav never even read any of her books. This reminds me of d kind of respect I used to hav for Okonjo-iweala until she came to Nigeria & superintended over d most corrupt economy in our history. We need to purge ourselves of colonial/inferior mentality. Because a white person celebrates someone does not necessarily mean we hav to blindly respect them. 1 Like |

The attacks on Diezani is too much. It is because she is a woman and also from a minority tribe. Those who make money from oil wells in Bayelsa are also official thieves. Injustice must be addressed in the case of individuals making millions of dollars from oil wells giving out their children out to themselves & people in corridor of power to secure their wells. |

She should go siddon for her husband house and learn! We no dey inside Purple Hibiscus. This is reality! A woman who had the effrontery to plunder a whole nation at the detriment of poor hapless Nigerian citizens. Does she care about the hapless dotting children who are hungry and scattered all-over the nation? And here she's sentimentalizing! Chimananda, I'm a fan but the Diezani matter is beyond feminist theorist explanation. It's about the much plundered Nigerian masses. Oma! 5 Likes |
