IPOB: What's Wrong In Donating To A People's Movement For Self-Determination? by paschu: 8:42am On Sep 23, 2017 |
Is there anything wrong in funding a legitimate and noble PEOPLE oriented mass movement for self-determination? The fact that ordinary people are funding this movement WILLINGLY underscores its legitimacy! So why is this regime so scared of facing the reality? Which political organization in Nigeria gets its funds from the ordinary people without coercion? None. Zero. So, you can now understand why they demonize IPOB for attracting global donations from the grassroots. See their pathetic claims here: https://www.nairaland.com/4073375/ipob-gets-fund-paris-holland You guys should start using your brains critically. The fact that they make this claims is a huge indictment on the govt. and its warped intelligence community who could not identify a single sponsor of Boko-Haram and the Terrorist Herdsmen since the last 9 years and counting. Unfortunately for them, the world has NOT considered the Indigenous People of Biafra to be terrorists, and I think that they can NEVER do that - because these are not just a group, but an Indigenous People with LEGITIMATE CONCERNS. If anything, this govt. is the one being perceived abroad as a terror and tyrannical regime. So, their noise in Nigeria is where it ends. Africa is the only place where they can oppress and kill innocent people for daring to assert their rights to self-determination. But the oppression and wanton killings cannot go on forever. If people keep quiet, stones will protest. If only they knew how many millions of Easterners they alienate from Nigeria by adopting this rogue stance against the agitators. Many of us injustice-hating millions who have never identified with the movement is no longer finding the antics of the govt. funny. nwabobo: 12 Likes |

Now they've been proscribed as terrorists, funding them is fundamentally wrong now. Would have been right before the proscription. 2 Likes |

NK was able to strike the right cord with the people that made him have the gravitas. Instead of guns, what a responsible government does is to get to the root of that cord THRU DIALOGUE and resolve it. 5 Likes |

You can run into problems in western countries if you are among the numerous people contributing funds to an organization that is not registered as a charity or corporation. Certainly the account will be reviewed by the French government and it can spell doom for contributors. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Where did I use the word "fight"? Clear sign of comprehension issues on your part. That's why you started talking about a non-existent "spreading of hatred" whist the object of the OP eluded your mental grasp. First go back and re-read the OP and COMPREHEND its import before posting a comment. Probably doing so will help make your comments relevant to the issues raised in the OP. RoyalUc: 3 Likes |

paschu: A lot is wrong with it when the people recieving the money are killing policemen and burning down police stations and mosque, all that non violence is rubbish, there's is a lot of intimidations going within the east trying to force people to join them . The fact that he NK doesn't have a strategic planning group to help him strategize well he will never make, I so Envy him whenever I see his rally, with that crowd and making IPOB a registered Party you're sure of winning every electoral Position in the southeast and then you ensure there is good governance and you being at the senate and House of representatives you can start your lobbying to see if other regions will support you to have your own country. But when you resort to name calling, insulting and threatening to kill and begging for arms to fight, then you will never make it. 5 Likes 1 Share |

It is not wrong when the self-determination in question is restricted to legitimate means. It is terrorism funding when the acclaimed leadership of the self-determination movement openly asks for funds to buy arms or preaches hate against other regions. What Nnamdi Kanu is trying to do is very similar to what Shekau (another proponent of his own brand of self-determination) is doing. Both are using illegal means. Since these illegal means include the buying of arms and the use of violence, funding either would be terrorist financing. Nnamdi Kanu was not smart. He could have achieved his objectives in a much better manner if he had done so with wisdom and patience. He chose the path of showmanship over substance, and wooed the ignorant rather than the intelligentsia. He is practically finished now. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

What fool would even believe that Kanu wiuld hide bombs in the house house he sleeps in and rusk his life. Stealing guns at check points? Have actually heard of such a thing? Target a section of the country to kill? Did they kill anyone? Fighting the military? With stones? You call that a fight? Which grouo hasnt stoned the military in the padt from the NLC to NANS? They said they will cut of the head of the president? An unarmed group who never attacked anyone? They are free to say whatever they like You are just someone who believes anything they read on the internet without proof. 4 Likes |

- Ojukwu did it in a "much better way" (think Aburi accord). But what did Nigeria do in response? It declared war against Biafra and killed millions. - Uwazuruike did it in a very "diplomatic" manner. But what did Nigeria do? It locked Uwazuruike up and killed many of his followers. - Now, NK is doing it in a different way. Yet, the killing is continuing. For how long will you support evil? Farmerforlife: 1 Like |
