That was before the delivery to South-Africa.
Was waiting for the self-esteem brigade to jump in. Wrong!!!
For people here who care about facts:
The last 4 Gripens were held back in Sweden so the SAAF could participate in Exercise Lion Effort. And guess whose air force introduced air-to-air refuelling to the Gripen operating countries at the very same Exercise? And guess where the latest iteration of Lion Effort will be held in 2018?

Dogs bark meanwhile the caravan moves on.
Kindly take your high self-esteem and sod off.

You "sound" so miserable. I could not care less about South-Africa. Fact is it was before delivery to South-Africa.

Jumping in to rant is irrelevant.

Since this is a vehicle in development, I couldn't help it to put my views. No offence intended to any party.

How is the last 4 out of 26 before delivery to SA? Do you read some of the excrement you espouse?
Kindly sod off

Care to elaborate why my personal wish that they hadn't welded on that contraption compels you to call me an arsehole?
you were just mocking the effort of the engineers that worked on that thing by calling it a "contraption " were you lost for words? I am yet to see you use the word contraption to describe any of your SANDF equipment. You were referring to that piece of innovation with contempt. And tried to cover it up by giving a suggestion which you know is a no brainer . Yes of course it would be improved upon with or without your suggestions.

so you once deployed to Sweden in a combined air operations exercise in 2012 ,thats one

Where has your confidence run off too? Where are your " grin grin grin "? And I'm not sure about your schooling, but as far as I'm aware ONE > NONE, as you so confidently claimed.

The SAAF Gripen jets in the video below are flying with a foreign air force over Cape Town. Name the foreign air force and tell us how often that exercise occurs.

the German tornado jets came to use the Denel Overberg Test Range (OTR)

Question why has SANDF never participated in exercises with foreign Air Force.

Judy respond with the exercises name? We all have pictures of aircrafts in foreign countries so we can all claim they were there for some certain exvercise.

I knew someone posted pictures of the German Tornado in SA for a certain reason.

Edit: The tornado cams for the OTR. Pictures were posted in here then.

Rubbish! Contraption is a neutral term and I've happily used the word with regards to SAAF Hawk tests at TFDC on this thread.
Awaiting your apology.

My question is who is asking? Even if SAAF has zero exercises with foreign air forces....so what? Who in SADC region can we hold a major exercise with using Gripen? Maybe Botswana soon, possibly Zambia.

What benefit would there be flying all the way to Egypt for an exercise? Why don't they come here?

Nigerian Airforce Alpha jet in UK during "Exercise don't ask me the name". As you can see, this is not an African Airport.

Side question/off topic....Can NAF Alpha jets fire air-air missiles? In fact can any alpha jet anywhere fire missiles?

Edit: never mind, I googled it

Ask a simple question he tears cloth. Guy better calm down before entering the market.

that was the last time. Tornadoes have been here rather often. They have been here for good hope and in one of them the gripens had to stand down so that the tornadoes could actually attack the ship, since the gripens where holding them off so while.

Big problem with air craft coming here is cost. Nigeria cant afford to come here for example. Though SAAF does sends it pilots to fly in other countries. There are SAAF pilots flying Russian aircraft against Russians for example. SAAF has a lot of experince with other aircraft this way. Example look at our current air chief who qualified on the Mi8 and Mi24.

I just noticed. Ah

I'll post the final edition of the ARA Evolution (as I now call it) when it settles down. As for the Hornet, Im honestly not done.

Below is an ambulance owned by a private security company. These guys are on a different level.

It only has two, delivered less than 2 weeks ago. So you recon they are ready for an exercise with the SAAF. Okay then.

http://itweb.co.za/mobilesite/defenceweb/home/item_id-49313/

"The Angolan Air Force has taken delivery of its first two Su-30K fighters, and will receive another ten by early 2018.

This is according to Aleksandr Vorobei, the deputy CEO of the 558 Aviation Repair Plant in Belarus, who told Sputnik news on 19 September that "I think that the deliveries will be completed by early next year."
