BlueRayDick: I don't even know what you are trying to say. I will pass becos I talked from a neutral point of view but obviously you are a TSTV fan boy already and called dstv much glorified which makes me feel your preference for TSTV once they come live. Let's say I got the HITV story wrong as you claimed but everything I said is true about the market. I thought you were going to tell me I was wrong about GOTV and star times. I will not go into arguments with you. If you claim dstv used politics against HITV, then hope they don't one way or the other kick out TSTV. I only analyzed what goes on in the market and mind you whatever TSTV does, dstv will react. That's market strategy. Tell me I'm wrong and let's wait. I will retrace this thread even if it's next year. 3 Likes 1 Share |

CHESTER48:True! So many persons have no knowledge abt dem dats y. Initially wen dey started it used to be aljazeera sports b4 dey changed dia name to bein sport. I could remember watching copa America using it back den in 2011 wen dey had a studio panel comprising of Gary linekar, Jamie redknapp nd some oda renowned football legends. I was awed! |

idris4r83: Please read well before talking. I already said with the proposed stations we are hearing, TSTV can compete. Didn't you see that one? Did I say who will win the market? That one is down to strategy but whether we like it or not, dstv remains premium brand. Mind you I use the Explora and pay 12,100 for compact plus + extra view every month and if TSTV get things right that amount will crash. I always said this in my analyzes. 1 Like |

giftedben: I agree with you if the propose station is part of it. I have always said if I have the finance and I want to set up things like this and epl is the target. Just get sky sports 1-10 becos all the top epl pundits are majorly contracted to sky sport and BT sports. Bein sports is loaded with sports across various leagues that the major advantage you will get from it. Super sport is limited to epl and la liga. 2 Likes |

laribari: Oga stop trying to be clever by half. Everything you said is true because? Because it is true abi? I pointed it out to you that TSTV is coming to battle Dstv for their own market share like hitv did and nowhere did I make mention of gotv or startimes ish. So with all the stations you see TSTV is going to offer you think Gotv market share is their headache? So much for making Ur points from a neutral view point. And yes, u got the whole hitv story all wrong. I agree with you that Dstv will react which is the beauty of when a market loses its monopoly, and those to benefit from it will be the consumers who will have to make their choice. Dstv has been sitting on the high table for a long time and it's time for someone to make them shift grounds. And don't quote me out of context, i said glorified Dstv stations that TSTV will definitely have substitute for. I was expecting u will understand this by meaning stations like telemundo and zee world most ladies crave will be catered for by TSTV. And that was why I said if the promoters of TSTV have studied the market well enough, they won't suffer the same fate as hitv. Coca cola has the best strategist/ sales analyst around, yet they have been unable to kill off Pepsi and other 7up products in naija till date. Ponder on that 6 Likes |

While I am all for cheaper subscription that FSTV promises to bring,I am scared, because I was bitten badly by HiTV. I lost a lot of money to HiTV subscription and I have not been able to recover same till date. From my experience in Port Harcourt,CTL shows BeIN channels, but the reception is not very clear compared to DSTV. Secondly most of the football commentaries are in Arabic language. Only one match, half time and post match analysis are in English. How will FSTV treat this issue? Thirdly,I understand super sport, which is a subsidiary of Multichoice has EXCLUSIVE rights to the premier League in Africa, how will this work out? CTL which shows BeIN sports is not a dish/decoder based company, they use basket antenna and the end product is not clear like DSTV HD channels. If FSTV success I am all for cheaper subscription, but until then, I am in watch mode. 1 Like |

BlueRayDick: Pls don't make m laff! You are sounding u know it all but you don't even understand what I said you a just talking. You held on to what I said on HITV based on reports which u claimed to be wrong. I don't mind if it's wrong but that doesn't mak my point invalid. U are just being too know here. Whether it's by politics or whatever means, what I said is hope TSTV won't end up like HITV that won't survive for long. For every 10 business created, 4 dies in the first 3 yrs and a further 5 dies at the end of 5 yrs and only two make it. I pray TSTV does well but my point is clear. Operating for 3 yrs sef does n guarantee their future, after all HITV worked for a few years and died for whatever reason, so I'm saying for whatever reason hope they won't end like HITV. My point I simple and clear because many reasons can make a business fold. So don't take advantage of the HITV story u claim to know too well my points still stands. I hope TSTV will not end up the HITV way. We have seen several stations leave dstv and Euro sport is among them and One gospel too. I'm just saying becos it takes a lot to get to dstv level which they built over time. If you rush and you get great growth. Will u b able to sustain the growth? So I hope they don't end like HITV because it's beyond just having stations. 2 Likes |

Caveatemptor:Concerning video quality, Unlike CTL/Trendtv, TStv promises to deliver bein sports HD 2 to 10, all in HD, so video quality shouldn't be a problem. They also have Fox sports 2 HD and other HD channels. |

Why are you all sounding like Tstv's only intention is to take on Dstv.. can't they just operate like AcTv (launched in 2015), CTL, DaarSat, MetrodigitalTv etc. Metrodigital Tv has all bein channels and has been operating for 4 years now. Their sub is cheap too, only 3,300 or thereabout. Tstv is here to stay. 3 Likes |

princetom1:SuperSport is a South African group of television channels owned by Multichoice and carried on the DStv satellite platform. It provides sports content in South Africa and abroad. It also provides sports coverage in many other African countries. While beIN Sports is a global network of sports channels owned and operated by beIN Media Group, a spinoff of Al Jazeera Media Network. now i hope u see while they will beat dstv |

dustmalik: I used the CTL basket antenna when I was based in Port Harcourt and I am telling you that the football comentries were all in Arabic, only half time analysis and post match analysis were in English. These questions need to be answered, because if these channels are meant for the Arab world and some one is trying to play a fast one by bringing the content to Africa, then people could lose their money paid for subscription If legal/court battles ensue. |

People should be careful and not get carried away by euphoria. Like I said on the other thread I still have one complete years subscription locked up in my moribund HiTV decoder and no one has admitted liability for this. Even one of the analysts on HiTV is now a commissioner in Lagos state. Look before you leap, because that's what I will do before committing a penny into this new station. I dislike DSTV for their financial rip off but I don t wanna jump from frying pan to the fire. |

laribari: Brother, thanks for all the write up, very educative and informative but the truth is, EPL right is the major thing holding down multi choice in nigeria. If tstv can maneuver a way to show EPL matches along side dstv/ Gotv, forget other stations. The market will break even. Keynote: EPL/champions league is the selling point. 1 Like |
