Omoluabi16:I'm one of the atheists who is not bothered by being told I'm going to hell... to me it seems so silly-- like someone telling me Santa won't bring me presents. I'm embarrassed for adults who believe in such things. I always wonder if they believe because they are afraid that they might go to hell if they didn't. I also wonder if the threat of hell they use on others was one of the manipulations that their indoctrinators used to get THEM to believe. (It must take a lot of mental work to convince oneself that a god who has his "beloved creations" infinitely tortured for not believing the right magic story is a GOOD god.) There's a kind of ugliness to it as well. It's usually used by people who can't answer the questions you've asked them, and it's said in a spirit of vengence- 'you may have defeated me with arguement, but my God's going to burn you alive forever, hah-hah!' . I don't respect people who argue like that. 3 Likes 1 Share |

hopefulLandlord:I see y'all exerting so much energy all in a bid to convince yourself there is no God. you do not deny his existence, you're only so concerned that there might actually be a God. Deep down you know there is. one sad thing is trying to use human logic to comprehend God. you have put yourself so high in a pedestal you believe every incomprehensible thing is void. God wants the meek. you can never understand the ways of God. Be foolish like a child so God can teach you and show himself. just empty yourself. your so called wisdom and logic is vain. You're just there..you haven't killed any christian. Your anti christ stance isn't 1/10 of what Paul was. So God can still save you. I won't be surprised an unpleasant event pushed you away from God. please read ROMANS 8:35~ |

Omoluabi16:Hahahaha hahahaha. You see that most of you guys are ignorant of the history of your faith. Jonathan Edwards delivered that fiery sermon (under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit I guess) to spark of one of the greatest revival movements in America called the Great Awakening in the 18th century and even up till now in certain Christian fundamentalist circles that sermon is regarded as a classic. But obviously with the benefit of hindsight we can now see(as is evident from what you just said) that that sermon was a product of the severity and intolerance of the times. Today's Christianity(the product of a more tolerant, less religiously sever society) has moved away from the emphasis on an angry God. Heck, they don't even preach about heaven or hell or rapture anymore like when I was growing up watching the movie Burning Hell. It's all prosperity now and all sort of materialistic desires. You guys forgetting heaven slowly it seems. So the bottom line is that it man who keeps refining his ideas of God based on the dominant socio-cultural trends. Do you know that at one time in Christianity poverty was an ideal? Today wealth is. So this una Holy Spirit keeps giving you guys hints to modify your religion as culture changes. @all download pagan Christianity by Frank viola and George Barna and you'd see how you guys got a lot of your traditions which you regard as Biblical. Nb The writers are excellent Christians so don't think it was written by guys trying to disparage Christianity. 3 Likes 1 Share |

If ever I were to worship a god I'd worship the Sun like the ancients from Egypt to India to Europe and the antipodes did. The Sun is the prime metaphor of who God is-faithful, benevolent, non judgmental, gracious to all without distinction. It doesn't say it will not shine because John killed Peter, it has no church, it receives no tithes. It needs no pastors and witnesses for we are all witnesses to its power and effect. No wonder even Jesus said... that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his SUN to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. But we all know that the old testament god (father of Jesus) is the most wickedest, racist god in history. That god (actually a idol among several idols of the Isrealites) is an impostor, a god trying to usurp the true God who is silent like the sun. 1 Like |

Their idols are silver and gold, The work of man's hands. 5 They have mouths, but they cannot speak; They have eyes, but they cannot see; 6 They have ears, but they cannot hear; They have noses, but they cannot smell; psalms 115:5 If we judge the Bible God by this verse you will discover that he himself is an idol. He has mouth, does he speak? No. Pastors, Prophets, Teachers, Priests are his mouthpiece like Dibia or a Babalawo is the mouthpiece of Amadioha or Sango. If he is God let him speak by himself Matthew 5:44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, Judge Yahweh by this verse you will see how abysmally he fails to make the mark. Who promulgated an eye for an eye? Who directed Moses to kill gentiles just so the children of Israel can steal their lands and dispossess them? How about hell? Read this poignant words of the great Agnostic Robert Ingersoll: **They say that when god was in Jerusalem he forgave his murderers, but now he will not forgive an honest man for differing with him on the subject of the Trinity. They say that God says to me, "Forgive your enemies." I say, "I do;" but he says, "I will damn mine." God should be consistent. If he wants me to forgive my enemies he should forgive his. I am asked to forgive enemies who can hurt me. God is only asked to forgive enemies who cannot hurt him. He certainly ought to be as generous as he asks us to be. Matthew 18:21-22 New International Version (NIV) The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times. Judge Yahweh by this passage and he gets an f9. Jesus meant by his reply to show that the limits of forgiveness are limitless. But Yahweh is an irascible, easily provoked God who killed Uzzah for touching his ark. All through the old testament we find him smoking in anger, rage and vengeance. In fact people don't know that one word that appears frequently in the old testament is the word 'destroy' for Yahweh was always destroying and threatening to destroy. Let me end with the words of Thomas Paine **The most detestable wickedness, the most horrid cruelties, and the greatest miseries that have afflicted the human race have had their origin in this thing called revelation, or revealed religion. It has been the most destructive to the peace of man since man began to exist. Among the most detestable villains in history, you could not find one worse than Moses, who gave an order to butcher the boys, to massacre the mothers and then rape the daughters. One of the most horrible atrocities found in the literature of any nation. I would not dishonor my Creator's name by attaching it to this filthy book 1 Like |
