BluntBoy:

Developing yourself mentally has very little to do with going back to school. You could read books or newspapers. Abraham Lincoln was self-educated. The writer, Bernard Shaw was self-educated. Many gurus that we hear about today never went to school. Like Bernard Shaw said, he never learnt anything in school.

Creating wealth is not a pointer to political competence. Obama did not create wealth or jobs before he became governor and then president. Trump who created wealth and jobs is struggling with administration.

Buhari has added a lot of value in a short time. You may not be seeing them because you people view values differently from what it really is. We are on a rebuilding process so you cannot expect miracles.

So confident

yet so dumb.

eyeview:

Am going to answer in the most objective manner.
Igbos are marginalized by govt in that the fed govt deploys our common resources to other beloved regions while the south east does theirs by themselves.
For eg, in my village in the south east,we had electricity around 1998. We raised money overtime to buy our transormers after which pledges and donations were raised to run electric cables across the kindreds.
Its too numerous and scattered across the south east.
You have wealthy individuals or groups contracting civil engineering firms to tar their own roads.
You are aware of imo airport. Do you know that the late governor Sam Mbakwe of Imo opened a purse where he was constantly calling on natives to donate as "no amount was too small for the imo airport". School kids donated their lunch monies. But this is not so with most other airports in the north or west where the govts funded the projects wholly.

Every other region in the East, South even the west go through the same self-assessment and self-effort at driving tangible development. It's the failure of leaders of the region. No sane business man wants to invest in a region shrouded in restiveness. There's absolutely no guarantee of investment. Selfishness and avarice of the leaders of the region is the bane of development of that region. If there's anything like marginalisation, the leaders should be held accountable not the central govt as propagated by insidious few. You did mention of resources and wealthy individuals, if these resources are allowed to be unselfishly harnessed and utilised, these regions can gain global recognition without recourse to the centre. Lagos has tried and it's working. Pls let stop blaming the centre for our backwardness but our so called state, local and community leaders who crave nothing but personal aggrandisement.

I totally agree, every region should manage its own resources, while the federal government should focus with items on the exclusive list.

Meaning every region will be blamed for its own underdevelopment.

You got it wrong mistakenly. The present exclusive list is one of the major cause Igbos is fighting against and it is the essence of the calls for restructuring which the North is against. Natural resources management, Electricity, Security & others in exclusive list is holding people with zeal, energy & foresight from moving forward.

To those who are so quick to join obasanjo to accuse Atiku of corruption,he has challenge anyone with evidence of corruption against him to show it shove it up his/her ass n keep quiet.Atiku by exposure, political experience n human relationship is by far better than any politician in the the north today, he is from NE n justice demand that the Next president of northern origin should be from NE,his only problem is his not a fundamentalist n bigoted. he has a better grasp of nigeria's complexity n the mental composure to effectively deal with them,he would sure have my vote if he becomes a candidate.

So, does Atiku expect Norhterners to rebuild their Mud houses when nothing happened to it during the war?

if l slap this Atiku, ehn?
Seems like his desperation to become President is making him go mad, sort of
.

Never, ever will Nigerians vote a fugitive like Atiku, for President. he can bank on that

Atiku said the truth. The same applies to my South West as well. Obj several years ago before he came back as civilian president visited east, he was surprised on what he saw. He could not recognise those cities again. The Europe or America of 80s is not the same you will meet in 2017. Even Accra of 80s is different now. Those mud houses in the north & rusty roofs in SW are signs that new development have not taken places with the exceptional cases of expansion which I agreed with you.

While there are mud houses & houses with rusty roofs in SW, there are also new developments. My observation is that in most cases the development cannot be compared to the Ibos that started from Scratch with nothing. If the war had been fought in my South West, it would have been very difficult to build as fast as the Ibos did. It would have been worse for the North. The roads in the North are built by Military Govt with few additions during democracy. To maintain Kano infrastructure built by military, Abacha created bogus local government twice that of Lagos.

My fear is that after Boko Haram in the NE, the North will still rely on Nigeria for rebuilding. They cannot rebuild. They are only parasitic on Nigeria.

The South had used his wealth & his blood to sustain North. Imagine the number of southerners that have lost their lives fighting boko haram. Whenever I lose a soldier friend in the boko haram fight, I always count it as one of the reasons the north is afraid of restructuring.

In a desperate bid for this man to win presidential election, he is biting more than he can chew by making derogatory statement against his kins men thinking the SE region would give him the necessary votes to win. I don't know about other regions but he is a NO in SW region and should not even bother wasting his resources to campaign here.

You are a bloody liar. Atiku knows he has the SW votes any day any time. What happens in the 2014 APC primary is because of Obj gazette against incumbency power of GEJ & contract deals which Obj did not forgive. The situation had since been cleared. The kind of arsenal GEJ team & Sambo Dasuki with service chiefs mounted against PMB in 2015 , Atiku would not have survived it.

Atiku remains the MOST QUALIFIED NIGERIAN today for the office of the president. Atiku has been in contention for this post for the past 25 years. Late M.K.O Abiola (in his grave), Babagana Kingibe, Arthur Nzeribe will still remember the famous Jos SDP presidential primary of 1993 where MKO, Kingibe & Atiku were leading on equal votes. Atiku on respect for late MKO & Kingibe stepped down leaving the contest for MKO & Kingibe, the rest is now history, that was over 24yrs ago.

All of this epistle is just a political propaganda as usual. They are all set of callous individuals, ones the time of election is getting closer, then they can sound as a most saintly individual on earth to gain momentum. How many people has he able to help, as an individual that attained such a height on a platter of gold as he narrated? how many average salary earners can afford his university for his or her children, my answer is none. And as a once VP of Nigeria, what has he contributed to the infrastructure development of his country home especially doing away with the mud houses as he is displeased with. You are simply not any different Mr. man. may God help us to salvage this supposed great nation.

I would not have gone to school if I were born today. My parents were so poor they couldn’t afford to send me to school. I was born during the era education was free, food was free for me, I was sponsored from primary school to the university. There was even a job waiting for me before I graduated. Yet, there was no oil boom then. I am certainly not a product of oil boom Nigeria.

See talk, even if na now dem born you sir you go still go school and get better job. Shebi na una dey in charge of the whole resources.
If your parents were not capable of training/educating you, there was not need giving birth to you in the first place. You don't go around getting women pregnant withou plans on how to sustain them, hoping the government will take care of your responsibility. . .

Go and check what Rwanda did within a few years. Comparing Igbo land to Rwanda is like comparing Enyimba to Barcelona. Don't let the backwardness of the North set low standards for you. Igbo land is very much underdeveloped and decrepit.

This a response from a person whom Ahmadu Bello had called a 'willing tool". The above post bordered on comprehension or lack thereof. Igbo land is an ethnic enclave while Rwanda had been an independent nation years before the civil war. I had always believed in the saying that the taste of the pudding is in eating. Nigerians who tend to jump into any opportunity to bash Ndigbo should join hand with Ndigbo to actualize Republic of Igbo land. It is unfortunately that above poster is partially Igbo.

Well if i voted for GEJ in 2011 and Buhari in 2015 (two pple who turned out to be disasters), i might as well dash this morafuka my vote in 2019. I believe one day somebody will save nigeria. See Turkey... a nonsense country b4 now enjoys one of the highest standarďs of living in the world all within the space of 20yrs because of visionary leadership.

Well at least even if Atiku doesnt turn Nigeria around, he would at least have many Igbos in his govt. Not a bad thing if u ask me.

Atiku 2019 it is. Let the criminal lead make we rest
But Turkey your example is a one party Government or maybe Rwanda another good example of a socio economic development state is also a one party Government that has been in power for over 20 years with a lot of rights violation, the truth if you want true development you need a single party to initiate their idelogy for at least 12 years,That is why I say big shame to that clueless and useless owambe party called pdp.
