: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by ijeshaoflondon: 5:41am Good Morning Ma People, I applied for a 6 month tourist visa since 4th july, i got a message in August from sheffield UK that they needed more time to make decision , hoping by September ending I should have gotten my passport back, but to my utmost surprise, I received another email from Sheffield last night that they needed more time to make decision on my application , please what the heck is happening? is it normal to receive this same message twice or its just an error from Sheffield? justwise, epkpote, brightus, help!!!! |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Brightingsus: 10:45am On Sep 26, 2017 |
ijeshaoflondon: Each application is unique and decision time depends on the type of visa applied for, reason for the proposed visit, applicant's circumstances and supporting documents in relation to UKVI guidelines. This is the reason why two people could apply for the same type of visa under the same standard service, one gets visa quicker than the other. Also bear in mind, it's still peak period for UKVI. It is nothing to worry about as some peoples' applications have taken longer than yours. UKVI reckons they owe it to you to always update you on the status of your application and that's why you got the correspondence you got. However if you think it's taken too long, you can always escalate. |

I meant that I had a closing balance of over 1m in other months prior to borrowing and repayment of the 700k. when I borrowed the 700k, I had like 300k left in the account but upon repayment, the balance for this month is over 1m. ekpotek: |

harry41: I am getting confused with the terminology. You mean, you borrowed money from someone or you lent money to someone |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by ekpotek: 11:58am On Sep 26, 2017 |
harry41: You definitely have a hard time convincing the ECO that this is not money lodgement. Unless there is an outflow showing the N700K leaving your account and coming back within the 6 month bank statement. |

Baywood: You've been a guest for two years. You've obviously been reading their responses to people's inquiries and trusted their judgement hence you registered to ask your own question. You even mentioned justwise by name. But because he didn't tell you what you wanted to hear he became the enemy. You knew he was not the ECO yet you came to ask him. It's your type that will always blame the old woman in the village for the consequences of your poor decisions. Good luck with your visa application. 7 Likes 1 Share |

thanks for your response. I have evidence of 400k leaving my account in that statement. I sent the money to the borrower from another account. so I took 400k from my visa account and transferred the full 700k through another account. All this happened mid of September and I want to apply maybe 1st or 2nd week in October. on a related note, I want to tender my salary account in addition to my savings account to show proof of my salary and push of a portion of my salary to my savings. should I do this? ekpotek: |

thanks for your response. I borrowed someone 700k in September which left me with around 300k balance. the person paid back the 700k and I have over 1m now. so will this be regarded as a lodgment? however, prior to this event that is other months like june, july, august I have always had above 1m in the account. this is a renewal not first time application. harry41: If there is an inflow and outflow of N400 - N700 consistently from both your acccounts, its okay. You can submit both accounts and explain the inflow that is not salary related with documentation. As this is your second visa application, your past visit will also count. |

Uglyduckling: That's the problem. When you trust someone's judgement, he starts playing god and overtaken by his own heroism. |

thank you very much. my past visit was specifically within the time frame I gave in my last application (10 days). for the extra documentations received, I believe tendering receipts of business I handled for clients will be sufficient because I'm a lawyer. these receipts are on my letterhead. ekpotek: |

ekpotek: You are right, I realised that the system has changed recently again, a cover letter will do or an email with his application reference number as subject. |

Jarus: Sorry my initial reply was wrong. Judging by what a lot of people have said here GTB Naira mastercard will not work, use dollar account or get somebody in the UK or US to help you make the payment. I have read far too many posts in this section about this payment issue with GTB Naira mastercard |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Jarus(m): 7:42pm On Sep 26, 2017 |
justwise: Oh, thanks. Running late. My passport is expiring November, so needed a new passport before applying for visa. Went to do passport renewal today. Hoping it will be out by Friday. Monday is publuc holiday., meaning the earliest time I can go for submission is Tuesday, 3rd, which is less than 10 working days from my travel date of 15th. Now left with priority service option. Doesn't look like regular can be processed within 9 days (application to collection). Too many issues to contend with for this impromptu UK visit (official travel). Dont want payment to be another issue as I dont have dollar mastercard. hence this question. Last time I did UK Visa, got decision email on 10th day and collected on 13th working day. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(m): 7:51pm On Sep 26, 2017 |
Jarus: Wow! if you pull this off then you need to replace Buhari immediately lol. Though people do get passport the same day(Don't ask me how if you are a Nigerian). Priority service has replaced standard service recently (sadly) but if you can afford super priority then you stand a good chance. If you have any friend with domiciliary account that will help |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Jarus(m): 8:11pm On Sep 26, 2017 |
justwise: So you dont think 9 days is guaranteed for priority service (which is put at 5 days on their website)? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(m): 8:18pm On Sep 26, 2017 |
Jarus: That 5days they stated on their website is a joke, i'm yet to see anybody that got it within 5days since April this year |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Jarus(m): 8:28pm On Sep 26, 2017 |
justwise: Oh dear. Any 9 days? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(m): 8:37pm On Sep 26, 2017 |
Jarus: Nope. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Jarus(m): 9:29pm On Sep 26, 2017 |
justwise: Oh dear. Have to do super priority. How things changed so fast (for worse) just within a year. Did standard within 13 days (drop of docs to pick up of visa) this time last year. Did 6 months then, otherwise would not have needed new visa for this. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(m): 9:50pm On Sep 26, 2017 |
Jarus: This is a recent development, people get visiting within 5days just last year, I guess they have backlogs of applications. Super priority will work for you in this case |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Jarus(m): 10:30pm On Sep 26, 2017 |
