downloaded another version and flashed it..
twrp 3.1.1.0, that worked and was able to root.
but then my phone stopped detecting SIMs and Network..
I worked around by flashing another file to the phone from the TWRP recovery.

Do all listed phones have the same battery polarity? Did all other devices have the same apps installed? What apps are running in the task manager/multitasking at the same time, on all listed devices?

4% drain is not too bad, in my opinion....... (possibly your pocket is mysteriously zapping it)....
