Do they have any?

They will rather keep spewing trash about how those figures aren't of any consequence without providing a counter.

They try to derail the thread by screaming almajiri and poverty, forgetting that due to the great northern population amidst limited national resources, the poorest are bound to be found in the North. They however also conveniently forget that the wealthiest Nigerians and best public infrastructure such as roads etc, are also found in the same North.

Don't mind the parasites, numbers are more stubborn than they can ever be smiley

Same way you hardly hear of other tribes facing the hangman's noose in other countries for crime all in the name of money.

How many times have you heard of a Hausa man involved in human trafficking? Who are the champions of prostitution, kidnapping, money rituals, fake spare parts, armed robbery all in a bit to get money.

It is better to be a beggar than getting involved in those crimes.

What is this one talking about? I totally agree with you that the Hausa man is not involved in all these vices especially in foreign countries. I have even said it a number of times that you never see a Hausa man's name mentioned in these crimes abroad. The reason is simple. In the North, the poor are too poor to even hustle their way out of the country. They have been mentally imprisoned to believe that they must stay home, beg and grovel at the feet of the elites praise singing and getting akara and pap in return. Meanwhile the elite who can travel do not need to indulge in crimes because they are parasites who have enriched themselves and can afford the good life.

Lame.

Assuming this jugunu logic is anything to go by, is it same hustling spirit that makes the flat headed fools to always occupy the first position when it comes to:

Human trafficking
Baby factory operation
Prostitution
Kidnapping
Armed robbery
Fake parts
Human rituals etc all in a bid to get money?

Gerrout.

In north people are poor and humble
In the east people are poor and desperate.

Niger govt. creates Department of Oil and Gas

ON SEPTEMBER 28, 20177:35 PMIN BUSINESS, NEWSCOMMENTS

The Niger Government has approved the creation of a Department of Oil and Gas under the state Ministry of Mineral Resources.

Alhaji Mudi Mohammed, the state Commissioner for Mineral Resources, told newsmen in Minna on Thursday that the approval was given by Gov. Abubakar Bello at the weekly State Executive Council meeting.

He said since the state was prospecting for oil and gas in Bida and Zungeru Basin, there was need for the creation of a department that would oversees the production process in line with the Federal Government’s mandate.

Mohammed also said the department would be responsible for coordinating the exploration, development and deployment process to attract investors.

He further said that the department would liaise with the Federal Government on the exploration and development of the oil and gas sector in the state.

According to him, the Bida Basin had been blocked into 17 oil blocks, with Main Land Oil and Gas Company already applying for two blocks–Oil Prospecting License 501 (OPL) and OPL 517.

The commissioner added that a Chinese Company had visited the sites and taken samples to China for assessment.

He also said the state government in collaboration with Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation would soon visit the Kutigi and Gulu exploration sites. (NAN)

Very good question, because statistically they're more parasitic than the entire North (minus the war ravaged NE).

In fact Kano and Kaduna IGR alone dwarfs the entire IGR of the South Eastern states combined; they're actually dragging with what's in Davido's account.

In other words, no other region is more dependent on FG allocations to survive, and no other region is as parasitic as the SE and this is a verifiable fact.

u ppl are just irritating..u took all the time to come out with this chitt buh whenever the same se wanna protest to seccede, u ppl lose sleep and send all ur northern troop to hold them back.. Anything i dont want in life,i throw away.

See,i am ss and i tag with the se and honestly,we wish luggard never almagamated the south with the useless north..

My major concern here is if there is already oil in Bida basin and Zungeru in Niger State and also in the North; why is the present government spending so much in Lake Chad and Sokoto all in the same bid to discover oil in the North?

While I don't support your opponent's styles of derailing the thread, I disagree with your points here.

1) There is an alarming poverty rate in the North which is NOT caused by limited National resources but rather poor leadership quality of their leaders which fail to put in motion, administrative policies that can uplift their peoples out of poverty.

2) Nigeria has huge national resources and population is one of them, there is a great might in numbers (that's put into productive uses)

3) There are few privileged super billionaires in the North (largely products of Government patronage systems) but the vast masses of the North live in abject poverty.

4) There is poverty in ALL of Nigeria but mass illiteracy makes it worse in the Northeast/Northwest.
Anyone who has been to Yobe,Zamfara, Taraba, Jigawa and some parts of Kwara will weep for this Country.

5) The condition is NOT hopeless, the North has huge landmass and great population, two out of the traditional three factors of production. The day they realize and acquire the third factor, the North will be the engine room of Nigeria's development.
