What age got to do with it,d same Efe Ambrose,Omeruo and Oboboana pushed to RB even when everyone expect him to replace aging Yobo,he should now be back as back up CB for Ekong and Balogun, meaning Taiye Taiwo should get a recall to back up Echiejele, even Obafemi Martins instead of calling d likes of Kayode, Nwakaeme, Oyekwuru, Aaron.

My man better to have a fit Omeruo back in d team than Efe.Thank God Awaziem is showing d class in French league, hope he replicate it in d national team.

Guy u funny. Is RB not in the starting 11? Efe brings experience and good form if he keeps it up.

Am not disputing his XI starting but Efe should have been a direct replacement for Yobo not Omeruo or Oboboana.

If he cannot do it as CB under Keshi, not now

Hope u remember Efe Ambrose started as CB in d national team.

My question is simple why should Efe Ambrose be invited as back up CB in d present national team,i f u can prove your point i w keep quiet.

I know everybody like to ignore this but William Ekong has been shaky in defence. Very excellent in the air but mostly flat with his feet. The presence of a world class player beside him hides a lot of his flaws. Chidozie Awaziem should be given more playing time to adapt. John Ogu can play there ,too.

I am shocked some people are rating Etebor ahead of Joel Obi but maka why ? Is it because of injury ? Enefee dike ,ekee ekpo ya! Joel Obi is just about world class and the only player that is currently above him is Mikel Obi,nobody else. If Joel Obi becomes fit before the world cup I will take him ahead of Etebor and even Iwobi if you consider the later an attacking or CM.

Concerning the bolded, It is basic management principle....that is why leaders move around with their own trusted hands (from Coaches to C-suite executives). By the way, I don't live in Nigeria.

As to your challenge of naming 5 players, my response is I cant. Not because it defeats my point, but because I couldn't name more than two key players from each top team in the world. I am simply not into football that much anymore but I will cite examples from past word cup winning teams.

Aime Jacquet dropped Ginola and Cantona from his team when he took over the national team. No one who went to Euro 96 or France 98 was better in the positions these guys played. However, the team was better for it.

Romario was performing way better than Ronaldo, leading up to the 2002 WC and would have been the choice of many for the World Cup. However Scolari decided not to take him to the world cup. See this quote from Zagallo - the man who took Brazil to France 98.

"Each coach has his philosophy of work, but I would have summoned Romario," he said. "I think that his performances with Vasco da Gama mean he should have gone to Asia. "But Scolari made his choice. I respect Scolari's ideas and will be a fan cheering for success. Brazil can only grow."

Lastly, Keshi dropped Osaze, Martins and Nsofor from AFCON 2013. None of the strikers he called had a better pedigree than these three except IK Uche who was turned out to be the player with the worst returns of our forwards in the tournament.

U are right, only Rohr can tell us d reason for players invitation, all we need is result,if he failed he faced d music alone.

Honestly i want Kayode,Oyekwuru in d team but Rohr is d coach and he knows what he want regards players invitations and we must respect his decision.

Onyekuru need to do more and so is Kayode...Being the highest goal scorer in a backwater league is not enough to give you a nod over players like Ighalo, Kelechi and even Nwaneme.

On Ekong u are right,am always having my reservation even right from Olympics but of recent in Super Eagles he has improve and d presence of Balogun always give him that boost,as u said always shaking with ball on ground, hope Rohr is watching.

Truly on Awaziem,d young man is doing well in his club, hope we beat Zambia,i w love to see Balogun and Awaziem pairing .

Joel Obi major issue is injury,a fit Obi cannot be ignored. All we need from him is to be injury free.

Yea,if we can get the Zambia game out of the way then we can give some reserve players chances to be observed and assessed. I need to see more of Mikel Agu,Ogu,Nwakeme,Onyekuru,Kayode,Awaziem, Amuzie the left back,Eze,Adeleye,Ebuehi etc. I dont believe Ekong is the best we can offer.

Exclusive – FC Lugano Receives Stanley Amuzie’s ITC, Could Make Debut Against FC Zurich

September 30, 2017

Nigeria Rio 2016 star Stanley Amuzie has received the all clear to make his debut for his loan side FC Lugano after his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) came through few days ago.

Amuzie joined the team from Italian Serie A side Sampdoria in the summer on a season long loan deal after failing to break into the first team of the Serie A side.

Since joining the team on loan in the summer, his debut has been held up by issues surrounding his ITC, but the papers came through yesterday, making him eligible to represent the team.

Owngoalnigeria.com exclusively gathered that he is in the matchday squad for their weekend league game against FC Zurich, and he could make his debut in the game.

He joined Sampdoria after excelling with the Nigeria U23 team, where his fine performances earned him two senior national team caps for Nigeria. Both coming in the back to back ill fated AFCON 2017 Qualifiers.

Known for his pace down the flank and abilities to whip in crosses, he was ever present for the Nigeria team at the Rio 2016 Olympics where they won bronze.

Last season he was restricted to games for the Primavera side although he made the first team squad for some league matches, but he didn’t get to play.

forgiveness:

Onyekuru is definitely going to make the team. Rohr's body language tells it all. grin

I won't be surprised if you're Kayode's agent. Rohr has been fair as far as I'm concern. Kayode may be your numero uno, same player may not be to other fan. Should we all advocate for ours to be included? You also said that he's not given game time and played out of position. Is it possible for all invited players to play at the same time? Is he the only one to be played out of position? What if the coach is looking for a utility player? Ever wondered why every coach liked Garba Lawal?
Your player is not even a world-class player yet. Who do you think he should replace in the just released list?

Coaches makes team selection based on a lot of factors asides form: style and quality of opposition, adaptability to team ethics, commitment - are just few of them. Brazil some times don't take players fans unanimously want included in a squad yet they perform tremendously well whereas countries like Belgium that rely solely on individual talent rather than team cohesion don't perform well at tournaments.

Sir I must say even fans of Chelsea debated this issue when Mikel left for China.
But we as Nigerians especially have to respect it when Chelsea named him a legend. In fact we should even call him legend before they do.
I'm going to add another evidence that support this.
See the pic below.

Do you think Wilshere would have been seen as top quality if he was in VVV Venlo? Definitely not? However, training and playing among quality players at Arsenal gave him a leap to the English National team.

Our Nigerian prospects are at a disadvantage in Europe. Judging them with the yardsticks of European football is comical and ignorant to the fact that as a National team, we must make conscious efforts to give our promising talents the push their European counterparts get in their club.

Kelechi Nwakali might not have been in the sky high of football charts but the fact is that he is a special talent and we must not wait for the foreigners to decide when we should give him a push.

Reminds me of the ignorance of Oliseh when it concerned Iheanacho until Pellegrini gave him the nod against Crystal Palace.

Your comparison with KC defeats your own arguments after a few years of playing academy football and excelling he was promoted to the first team. Once again he proved that he was true Quality.

Osimhen has not proved anything beyond past youthful glories. So what basis will you be grooming exceptional season, great goal scorer.

That would be grossly unfair to all the other more deserving talents who are cutting it

There are too many other Nigerian players who are more deserving. If you can't do it in your club then you will not be doing it in the SE.

Aina, Tega and Tega have proved themselves worthy on the other hand Chuba Akpom has not considering all the accolades he won continously from U16,18 … 21 he simply has not been able to step up from youth football. He was groomed but the grooming didn't work.

Osimhen has not been able to make the bench in recent times. That should tell you something.

With regards to Wilshire he wasn't just potential he was cutting top class performances for Arsenal at a very young age. That propelled him to the three Lions senior team.

Dele, Raheem and Rashford made huge strides as 18 year old teenagers in thier clubs. That's what gave them overriding prominence top class consistent performances. THEY WERE NEVER GROOMED.

By the way Dele was playing for lowly MK Dons in League 1 not the EPL. Before being airlifted to Tottenham and catapulted to the English national team. Right now he debatably the most technically gifted player in England.
