Thank you for this sir.

Let me see the yeye people that will say Mikel is not a legend on this thread, Nigerians are only good at rubbishing their own and elevating others
My aunty just take it cool,I know why u used word'yeye'u don't need it.

I realised something on this thread if someone don't like a player they get mad at people who share contrary views and they can go to any length to dress u down but u know what let your maturity reign supreme on such fellow.

Whether Mikel is a legend or not I believe d guy w never be forgotten as one of d players that bring smiles to Chelsea fans worldwide on d day Chelsea won champions league and nobody can erase it no matter d arguments.

Respect my sister.

Am not disputing his XI starting but Efe should have been a direct replacement for Yobo not Omeruo or Oboboana.

If he cannot do it as CB under Keshi, not now

Hope u remember Efe Ambrose started as CB in d national team.

My question is simple why should Efe Ambrose be invited as back up CB in d present national team,i f u can prove your point i w keep quiet.

His form should do the talking there are no magic words.

I've tried to say it times without number. Most times when we say push/displace etc, the actual reason is lack of options we have at RB. Meaning Omeruo and Obaoabona could not offer what Ambrose could offer at RB. We've not had a dedicated RBs in a long time (I think since Chidi Odiah). So what we've had for a while are players that can also play as RB. Ambrose was MOSTLY used as CB at Celtic then.

By the way, at the moment Omeruo is not it. If Omeruo gets back to good from, I won't mention Efe Ambrose. Just read he had a bad game for Kasimpasa. I hope he picks up.

So for now I'd go with Ambrose and Awaziem. Maybe Junior Pius (Tondela), in future. He was red carded just yesterday for kicking an opponent.

Kog45:
What age got to do with it,d same Efe Ambrose,Omeruo and Oboboana pushed to RB even when everyone expect him to replace aging Yobo,he should now be back as back up CB for Ekong and Balogun, meaning Taiye Taiwo should get a recall to back up Echiejele, even Obafemi Martins instead of calling d likes of Kayode, Nwakaeme, Oyekwuru, Aaron.

My man better to have a fit Omeruo back in d team than Efe.Thank God Awaziem is showing d class in French league, hope he replicate it in d national team.

What about Felix Udoukhai? That is the guy we should be going for, i believe...

Too early to say for Junior Pius..

of course if he is still in form and we don't have options at LB, why not? These players we are mentioning still have to show they are still good in camp. But they say Taiwo is OLD. grin

OMANBALA1:

Onyekuru need to do more and so is Kayode...Being the highest goal scorer in a backwater league is not enough to give you a nod over players like Ighalo, Kelechi and even Nwaneme.
I thought Nwakaeme play too in backwater league which is Isreal.

Thank God... I was banned since yesterday...

Some people don't just like to hear Mikel at all... It's well o... Atleast he Stil proving you people wrong...
If you don't like him just ignore him and stop talking about him instead of bringing him down..

Mikel deserve alot of respect... He's the must behave player at this era... You can take it to bank...

When the so called legends are choosing games to play for Nigeria during 2006 world cup qualifiers and they ain't t taking responsibility... Mikel is their taking responsibility both on and outside the pitch...

While some of the so called legend are forming maffians in the team... Mikel is forming team spirit...

His sportsmanship is topnotch...

If you don't like him don't talk about him...

If you talk about him that means you are jealous of him...

grin

Guys, good morning.

I didn't want to comment until I get to the last page but it keeps getting longer and longer. I'm still on page 1600. LOL

The recent event was unfortunate and I hope thesupernerd would come back. Thanks Icon4s for playing the role of an elder, as usual.

Nairaland is nobody's house. And while I have gotten angry and said some not-too nice words in the past and I can't promise I won't get angry in the future, I believe we can resolve our differences in a humane manner. Even identical twins fight. I look forward to seeing people on this thread offline someday soon. tbaba1234, a get-together for the group okay?

safarigirl, I see you. But go easy on our guy. The deed is done, time to mend fences.

Joebie, you make this thread rock.

I expect these setbacks from time to time, but the thread is self-correcting.

*Back to reading from 1600. But mehn, you guys can talk, maka why? terzurum5, what is wrong with these people?

A get together will be great but distance will not allow me attend.....

Joebie will make a good journalist if interested. I think he does a great job with his updates.

Bros Icon4s is a chairman. Kog45 is also part of the committee of chairmen.

I love the honesty/bluntness of safarigirl.

Goldfish80 always offers good insights that are sometimes missed.

Goodjoe has very strong valuable opinions even when i do not agree.

Komekn's knowledge of the English game is a real asset.

if I am right, I believe it was a stupid own goal against Barcelona in a friendly, that made Celtic fans call for his head. He dropped to lower team, Hibernian, had several MOTM awards if i'm not mistaking and help them to the top tier. Since then he's been a regular. Did Ambrose ever show a loss of form? I stand to be corrected.

Or mabye we should consider a couple of our CB's from WAFU(?).

[quote author=Kog45 post=60983068]Ideal how?[/quote

He is strong and can withstand the pressure up front,at least he looks like he could.
just like Ighalo we want somebody who can create a real threat in our opponents zone. Somebody who will not be bullied by tough defenders like they always do to Iheanacho. Additionally, I dont fancy Kayode to be out top 9 he hasnt proved anything.

Who will you prefer a promising player or average tested players as back up for both Ekong and Balogun?
