Even ancestors are going to church! Wonders shall never end!!! Is the masquerade going to receive sacrifice? While the world is becoming more churchy, the church is becoming more worldly. May God save us.

I agree that it is part of our culture and no longer fetish. But if the entire concept that masquerades represent the spirits is brought to bear, masquerading should not be promoted. A toy gun still promotes violence

So if someone dresses up in a costume, it becomes unbiblical?

I blame nollywood that has adulterated people mind about African culture.
Religion and culture go hand in hand. Even Jesus had to conform to the culture of the Jews.

I wonder how people see things, you have cultures and it does not mean our cultured are evil.
This can be for entertainment. You don't throw away your identity all because of religion that is based on the culture of other people.
Where has the so called religion we all practice taking us to? You have more wicked people practising religion than practising culture because the repercussions of the culture is immediate and fatal.

CastedDude:
An online outrage has been sparked after a masquerade was spotted doing traditional display at the ordination of a new Rev. Father at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Okigwe, Imo state. According to reports, the Reverend Father's people came with the masquerade from Abia state to join others in celebrating him at the church premises on Saturday, September 30.

Nigerian online users have reacted to these trending photos from the ordination after they were shared on online.

All our culture has been replaced with some documentations. Sir/Ma, this is entertaining to the core.

The previous Rev is nothing but a glutton who don't preach the true gospel.

If he does, these villagers wouldn't have the gut to bring masquerades to a holy event. Well, Catholic Churches always have a comma.
Western Culture will kill you.
Suppose you were not evangelized, you grew up to see your grandfathers doing fetish stuffs, you wouldnt join bah!
WE CATHOLICS PRAISE GOD WITH WHAT WE HAVE NOT WITH WHAT THEY BROUGHT.....OUR CULTURE IS OUR PRIDE.
