I did a factory reset after the update so I can't say if it's the rom


Settings - Additional settings - Language and Input - Text to speech Engine - tap the settings icon beside Google Text to speech Engine - Install Voice data - English (United Kingdom) - then cancel the download. 

Also, on the same page you have 'install voice data', tap 'settings for Google Text to speech Engine' and uncheck everything.

Was even thinking of re-porting the miui 8.1 for leagoo m5 posted on that russian forum you pointed me to, since they are similar in many aspects.

I will try porting it for the M5 plus. I've already downloaded it,but I'm a bit bothered about the size (704mb) which is way smaller than RN4x(mido) fast boot rom I downloaded few days ago.

Never, that sharpness in selfie cameras is actually lacking in details, na just over sharpening, snap with both and view on Pc, u'll understand.
