Help Me Get 1 Million Signature: Change.org Nigeria Citizenship By DNA Bill We in Nigeria may not be able to rewrite the dark History of the Trans Atlantic Slavery that ravaged Africa in the 15th Century and thereafter but we can at least put in place some corrective measures to ease the pains and our consciences that history may Judge us fair in the year to come. Nigeria Must lead the way as the Pride of the Black Race -Tochukwu Ifeduba A darker historical era saw many people of West Africa leave their shores for plantations in Europe, North and South America and the Caribbean. In the early 1500's, slaves were transported from West Africa to America through Badagry. It is reported that Badagry exported no fewer than 550,000 African slaves to America during the period of the American Independence in l787. In addition, slaves were transported to Europe, South America and the Caribbean. The slaves came mainly from West Africa and the neighboring countries of Benin and Togo as well as others parts of Nigeria. The slave trade became the major source of income for the Europeans in Badagry. In the Bight of Bonny, Nigeria .An estimated 14.6% of slaves were taken from the Bight of Bonny between 1650 and 1900, the third greatest percentage in the era of the transatlantic slave trade, dispersed to colonies such as Jamaica,Cuba,Haiti ,Barbados,United States,Belize,Trinidad and Tobago among others. Genetic tests have ushered in a new era of root-seeking and community-building, says social scientist Alondra Nelson. More and more Africans taken to the Caribbean and the Americans are retracing their ancient roots back to Africa and Nigeria and with this petition we are focused on Nigeria setting the Pace by Enacting a New Bill in the Legislative Chamber House To Grant Nigeria Citizenship By DNA to Individuals with authentic DNA Result of Nigeria Ancestry Upon a direct application and the swearing of an oath of allegiance to the Government and Republic of Nigeria. Such Application can only be approve after Security Background Check . This Bill if and when Adopted as a Law in Nigeria will also be beneficial to the Country especially in Human Capital Development of Nigeria . God Bless Nigeria , God Bless Africa Mr ThankGod Tochukwu Ifeduba https://www.change.org/p/nigeria-senate-nigeria-citizenship-by-dna-bill/nftexp/ex5/v4/302877785?recruiter=302877785&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=share_for_starters_page&utm_content=ex5%3Av4 |
