Do not say he had no technical ability. I have explained it clearly to you but you chose to delve in the misconception. Dunga played in a role that requires the sacrifice of whatever creative talent he has for the good of the team.

It is clearly explained in the Vieira quote.

If we did not watch Mikel in his early days for the Junior teams of Nigeria or his games with the Super Eagles, many will argue due to his role at Chelsea that Mikel is not a skillful player.

Watching Dunga play as a shield or central defender repeatedly does not mean he lacked creative ability.

Secondly, you can say the defensive part of the game is important and a big part of their calling. You can not say that is the only role. They are defensive midfielders. There is a reason for the midfielders. It has to do more with intelligence than brute force.

I think the point is well explained.

Maybe you're related to Dunga or you were privy to watch him when he played in the streets to know he had immeasurable technical abilities that he sacrificed for the team. The Dunga the world saw was a thug. Just like Roy Keane, Diop, Thomas Graveson, Gattuso, Deschamps and the rest skin heads I have over the years watched play the DM role.

There used to be one guy who played for Iwuanyanwu in the 80's and 90's I'm sure Kog45 can remember his name. His only job was to come in and break the leg of the opposition's best player's leg. Guess what position he played? DM of course!

DM's are meant to be strong, powerful and they usually take one for the team. Do you know what it means to take one for the team in this context? That means to kick the opposition when they are threading dangerously to goal.. grin

That's is point. You get it.

However, I am still observing Kayode's case and about the 2013 victory, na fluke. grin

me I have already said I'd favour a more compressed midfield display which means Iwobi starts for me especially since his confidence will be high after scoring against Brighton(MS has zero goals and zero assists could be low on confidence which was clearly shown in that first leg against Cameroon when he missed a certain goal). The only difference is that I will play Iwobi on the right instead, why? Echejile. First, Echejile will not provide enough cover for Iwobi(since his defensive side isn't the best). Second, Echejile won't provide a passing option for Iwobi something I believe Shehu(Aina) who is naturally a midfield will be able to provide easily(you can see that brilliant combination play he had with Ndidi in the first leg). On the left, VicMo can post his one-man-army display. If we can isolate him and their right back then expect him to atleast cause them some problems alone without Echejile's help while also helping out the liability in his defensive work

Keshi was coach for only one of the matches (against Chad) and we won 2-0. Unless you can get more than 3 points in a match, i don't see how Keshi contributed to the failure of the team to qualify.

Did u realised that Keshi won his only match before he was sacked,Olishe took over but could not finished and Siasia finished d campaign

Till today Olishe always refer to Siasia as d coach that failed Nigeria not him.

Pls take Keshi out of d pictures, though he failed in 2015 after winning 2013 Afcon u called fluke.

But Iwobi has not been that impressive for us since the Zambia first leg. How about retaining the two Moses to give width to our attack and stretch the Zambian defence(which is weak) Retain the same old midfield trident with Mikel at the tip to thread passes for Ighalo. Hopefully And then bring in Iwobi for Mikel, Aina for Echiejile (which I doubt cos Rohr will want to wrap this up now and give Aina a go during the Algeria match)

Safari my sister, don't mind them ... some people you can just ignore. One of the biggest problem we have in this forum, like many others online, is that the loudest members are not necessarily the most knowledgeable members.

When we discuss speed in football, for instance, some folks would immediately think about the players who can run the fastest. But those of in the know would understand speed in football as the speed of play aka ball movement. Our USA '94 World Cup team is still one of the most athletic football team the world has seen but that wasn't based on their individual athleticism of the players but rather on the rhythm of the team.

O pari

safarigirl:
Moses Simon get athleticism, Leon Balogun and especially Victor Moses he athleticism.

Mikel does not need athleticism, he will decimate those kids with ease, I have confidence in that.

I hate reading anything you post and even more, I hate conversing with you because you aggravate me.

You can think whatever you like, but it dies not change the fact that our team is better than Zambia's just like Manchester City had a better team than Chelsea.

God! I hate talking to you

I expect a professional game from the Super Eagles. Hopefully Genort Rohr will fix our now famous first 10-20 minutes lethargy.

This time around I expect us to start on the front foot, playing sensible football.

I expect the Zambians to show resilience in certain phases but ultimately I expect them to crack in the second half. Being a young side, they are bound to make a few errors in the second half. The likes of Kelechi and Iwobi will have a lot of fun coming into the fray in the second half when the Zambians are considerably gassed out.

But for Akpeyi you have gotten this covered. So your first paragraph is the way to contain the Zambians?
Are they more pacy than the Cameroonians? Do you see them coming to get us or seat back (which I feel is what they would do having adopted that strategy in their away match to Algeria) and wait for that prime counter since they know (as can be gleaned from their fb page) that we are more under pressure and would be most likely the one to attack

Although it's past but I really don't know what we played in the first ten to fifteen minutes of the first leg of the cameroun encounter but then though the Cameroonians were the more enterprising we still were the most dangerous as we had two good chances before the Ighalo goal. If we put in as much effort as the cameroun game then it would be good.

Forgiveness put your mouf for shum. No dey tok to da first lady like that now angry grin sad shocked

You guys tend to write off our players. What kinda nonsense is that! The Zambians can camp as long as they want, they still can't play above their levels. Even our Olympic team can beat them sef. We would have beaten them soundly in Lusaka if we had taken our chances. Go back and watch the game again....Brown Ideye alone wasted two clear cut chances. And if not for jetlag, they shouldn't have pulled one goal back either. I am not worried about Zambia, I am only worried about our fans making it sound like if we're suddenly playing against Brazil or Germany!

Enough is enough! The Zambians are playing mind games .... don't help them to achieve their aim.

Hahahahahah! This girl just like wahala, I swear. grin

Make I no talk wetin I see again? Shuuuu! shocked grin

I am not even talking about the weakness or strength of our team. I am only discussing what I saw when I watched the Zambia's game and I noticed they rely on crossing the ball from the wings.

Virtually, all their goals came from the wings during this campaign hence the need to block or stop them from the wings.

Besides, there is one guy Orchestrating the play from the midfield and I think he has to be tamed.

But here you are talking about hate and your feelings when you know they are inconsequential in public domain where opinions should/must differ. grin

This is no longer Football matter girl. Hold yourself and stop expressing feelings that has nothing to do with soccer in public domain.

Even this feelings are fake because you are in a fake cyber World where Saint could be mistaken for devil or devil mistaken for saint. grin

Now, put that behind you and let's talk Football.

It depends on where the coach plays Mikel.

If Moses Simon and Victor Moses have athleticism are they to hold the Zambian's wingers? grin

My focus is to curtail the Zambian's wingers. It's as simple as that but if you have different opinions share them and stop using emotions to deal with the society.

That level of mind set is low. grin

Of course, we have a better team than Zambia but with wrong selection and tactics, believe me anything can happen.

Manchester City has better team than Chelsea is only in your dreams. grin
