So you think it's only sport channels that determine the existence of satellite television in Nigeria? Do you think every one watches sports? For every lover of La Liga, there is a lover of Nat Geo Wild or some other stations.

You Re not looking at the bigger picture, there's no way they can sustain that Business model if they re offering quality at that price. I will be happy if it works and the content is good at that price.
believe me man... The contents are great and same with the price.... U might be used to dstv channels but tstv channels are equally great

This TSTV have an opportunity to put dstv into extinction and they are messing it up. If I were a member of their board, I would have suggested "Come along with your DSTV decoder and pay 2,500 for tstv decoder and first subscription. Choiii, dstv would be completely battered once and for all.

its not about starting a competition, can they remain competitive? Though I hope they fulfill their promises & stop the Dstv monopoly but I honestly don't see that happening

Why I think TSTV Heavenly promises are dead on arrival...

1) Offers are too good to be true...

Hardware ...

A DVB-S/S2 receiver with tuner, processor, ram, power supply unit, video filters/hdmi port, Rj45 port, PVR capability, WLAN hotspot etc...all for 5k This means cost of production is about 10usd. Ask any company in China, this is not possible unless its been subsidized by govt or something else.

Channel lists...

Beinsports is owned by a company in the middle list and only have the right to broadcast EPL in the middle east and north africa by satellite. If they had wanted to cover Africa, its just a transfer of funds and bam...the beam is everywhere in Africa. Tstv promising to beam beinsports MENA to Africans is either piracy or fraud. The only legal means to bring beinsports to Africa is by IP but they already denied that 20gb is just VAS...i dey watch in 7D. They might succeed in beaming the beinsports MENA to Africa but will shut it down within few months.

Suddenly they got to offer data very cheap...what has Etisalat, MTN and Glo been doing. Does it mean they never knew how to get and offer data at a very cheap rate..?? Ok let us assume they know what others dont know...now, how to they want to offer these data to her customers.. There are only three ways to share data...either by satellite, terrestrial or Cable alright

TSTV is a satellite provider, it means they plan to share this data by satellite, it then means the customer satellite dish must carry a BUC and LNB all for 5k with STB...? This is more than MMM. The other way to share the data is by terrestrial ...either by gprs or WLAN..this then means there will be coverage problem and NBC must know where and how the broadcast station are...and we all know what NBC can do to frustrate a growing business in Nigeria...i rule that one out.

They are confusing Nigerians with HBB technology...Hybrid box is just multiple source input box...dvb-s/s2/t/t2/c and IP there is nothing new here. If there was something new...this technology could have been everywhere in the world and no one will care to pay for cable or satellite TV. I have plenty things to say here but let me stop here, will come back to add more...

Conclusion,

I am not trying to be pessimsitic about TSTV but everything look vague to me. Why choose a brand name close to DSTV and a color code close to multichoice

Why make all these noise and lunch without any goods to sell?? I am certain TSTV is not prepared for this business and challenges that comes with it. Would it not had been better TSTV starts broadcast in June, stabilize and then lunch in October There is need to test your product properly before selling, even deadly nuclear weapons are been tested. well, I still keep my fingers crossed. Since Edo people can fly without airbus, and bakassi boys can resist live bullets without bullet proof, TSTV can still work without means.

The good news is here is 5k to me looks like spare money to an average Nigerian so, nothing to worry about. However, 5k multiplied by 100 million homes... In Akpan's voice...'guy this is money oo'

my brother you are a HATER. go and die...

It's been a while since I've read posts from a bitter soul like this cooldood of a guy.
Mehn, you have so much hate, darkness and bitterness in your heart. You're a classic example of a "never-do-well" coz u hate to see someone else succeed or at least try. What's your problem with TsTV? You claim you know much about business, how successful are you in real life? Ehn? I detest people like you and I'm truly sorry for people around you coz you must have infect them with your captivity of negativity and kill their dreams. Over Sabi boy like you, empty barrel throwing stones at everyone with a contrary opinion. Ode.
You'll cover yourself in shame eventually unless you make conscious change in your worldview about life and people. Don't even bother to quote me. Sense fall on your oversabi empty bitter mind and soul.

Relax dude, dont always take every criticism in bad faith.
We cant all sleep, facing the same direction - It is called herd mentality!

Some will (and should) be 'excitedly' optimistic, while some others will (and should be) unreservedly pessimistic.

It is the combination of the 'values' in both position that yields efficiency and best-way forward.

One simple question for TsTV fanatics,if DSTV decide to run on losses for 6 months by crashing all their packages to #0 naira, what will happen to TSTV?

Are they prepared?

Mind you, they have milked Nigerians for 23 years to be able to do that.

Is TSTV ready for such, cos if not, they should just park somewhere. They ain't ready for business.
dstv CAN never do such..
When glo came, did mtn even gave us a sec free access to call our peeps?

Below are the 6 things you should know about TSTV before making purchases;
1. The N5000 for TSTV initial purchase includes a decoder, a dish and a remote control but excludes any installation service charge.
2. TSTV Pay AS You Go pause service i.e. the ability to pause your subscription when not in use would be available to those that would go for the maximum subscription which is the monthly N3,000 package and you would only be able to pause subscription not more than 7 days, thereby allowing you 37 days at most for your monthly subscription. So don’t expect to use your 1 month subscription from January to December in the name of pausing or expect to user 1 day N200 subscription for 1 month.
3. The first time you buy the decoder is the only time you would be able to enjoy up to 20GB of data as bonus, for subsequent full monthly subscription comes with 10GB of data and not 20GB as some of you might be thinking.
4. TSTV has incorporated its subscription service payments into Quickteller the popular E-payment service in the country and just like DSTV, you would also be able to easily pay for your TSTV subscriptions through Quickteller.
5. You would be able to buy extra 1GB data or above from TSTV at the cost of N300 for 1GB
6. TSTV data allocation has nothing to do with watching of TVST channels but just a separate and additional offer to the entire TSTV concept or better still what you commonly regard as Value Added Service (VAS)
