How Super Eagles Team A & B Lined Up In Wednesday Evening's Training The Super Eagles held their second training session at the practice pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Wednesday evening. After an initial physical session of stretching and running, manager Gernot Rohr organized two mini-games in a reduced size pitch with all the players named to the 23-man roster for the World Cup qualifier against Zambia taking part. The first practice game involved 'monkey posts', with long flexible poles, while three quarters of one half of the training pitch was used for the second training game. Victor Moses, who arrived in Uyo today, took part in the session as well as Elderson Echiejile, having overcome his injury problem. Team A wore blue bibs on top of green jerseys and contained Elderson Echiejile, Troost-Ekong, Leon Balogun, Abdullahi Shehu, Eddy Onazi, Ifeanyi Ifeanyi, Wilfred Ndidi, Ahmed Musa, Alex Iwobi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Tony Nwakakeme. Chidozie Awaziem, Uche Agbo, Ola Aina, John Ogu, Mikel Agu, Afeez Aremu, Oghenekaro Etebo, Mikel Obi, Victor Moses, Moses Simon and Odion Ighalo were in the team that wore green jerseys without bibs. Akpeyi, Ezenwa and Ajiboye were involved in a session with the goalkeeper trainer as the outfield players were doing their thing. During the second training game, the teams were the same, with the exception of the fact that the two Akwa United midfielders Ifeanyi and Aremu were replaced by Akpeyi and Ezenwa respectively. Super Eagles Training Session : Moses Looking Fit & Sharp, Iwobi Has Eagle Eyes, Aina Bedding-In Published: October 04, 2017 Super Eagles Training Session : Moses Looking Fit & Sharp, Iwobi Has Eagle Eyes, Aina Bedding-In The Super Eagles had their second training session at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Wednesday evening, with two mini-games taking place. The training games were quite competitive as the players sought to win the hearts of the coaching staff. While the German tactician gave a clue of the players he intends to start in defense and attack, he left everyone guessing about his preferred options in midfield and who will be in between the pipes. Five players trained for the first time with the team today and here's how they performed : Victor Moses : He got on well and took on his markers well with his dribbles. He looked fit and sharp. Chidozie Awaziem : Was his usual self, trying to pass out of defense even though one or two didn't come off majorly due to no one opening up for him. He did put in a couple of tackles preventing the opponent from scoring. Alex Iwobi : The Arsenal man played from the right hand side and always looking to pass to his free teammates. Kept finding spaces to receive he ball and launch the attacks. Ola Aina : The Chelsea loanee is bedding-in. He did fine and tried to go forward when he had the opportunity. Moses Simon : The Gent star whose main attributes are running at speed and turning his marker looked to beat his opponents at any given opportunity and did deliver some crosses for the main striker. Set to keep his place in the starting XI. Ifeanyi Emmanuel source: allnigeriasoccer.com 1 Like |

Gernot Rohr said “Everybody is looking fit, no injuries so I hope that it will be difficult for me to choose eleven starting players because everybody want to play, so it’s a good confidence”, he said after their evening training session. “Now we are going to continue tomorrow. It will be a close training session I ask you (journalist) to understand because we need to prepare our team at least once alone”, Rohr concluded. 1 Like 1 Share |

Jay Jay- Wilson Oruma- Chidi Odiah. So much enjoyed the trio back then. Oruma was another skillful player we didn't see much of due to Jay Jay's presence-he came at the wrong time while Chidi is the best RB Super Eagles has produced in the last decade-though he left the scene so quick. He should still be in his mid 30s same as story as T.Taiwo

At Icon4s and DaveP and the whole house, I have always wondered what happened to the these players who I enjoyed watching play for Nigeria in the 80s Ndubuisi Okosieme Humphrey Edobor Sunday Eboigbe Ademola Adesina Ayo Ogunlana and more in the early 90s Friday Elastic Elahor. Apologies for the digression to the memory lane. |

Taliban: The last i read about Ndubuisi Okosieme, he was struggling to get by. Lives in Edo State. I think Humphrey Edobor is in the US now. Sunday Eboigbe had a stroke a few years back, don't know if he is still alive. Ademola Adesina is a coach now. |
