Dear house why is it that the 3D renderings of building's always appear more beautiful than the physical build? And in some cases different

1) Owner might not like how the physical model is shaping up and make changes. For example, I lengthened my lobby by 4 feet or so. Of course, this will change the front.

2) Availability of materials. Some of the models are difficult for builders to build.

3) Architects sometimes get carried away.

Hello everyone, I'd like to ask... What are the modalities for going about making changes to a registered building plan? Any penalties? Thanks.

It involves paying additional money for amendment.

Interms of it looking more beautiful, its one major reason. The software used in Rendering such design is known basically as a presentation software. Its job is to prepare designs for presentation, so it has atmospheric beauty than our real life atmosphere. Colors are finer, Geometry is Straight (besides its computer) it has to be geometrically neater. bottom line, human being work no fit fine pass computer. But we should always aim to get closer to the real one in terms of beauty.

Interms of been different in most cases. That one 2 major many factors.

in addition to what has been said, your model is often rendered against a fancy background, while you building is usually constructed with some truly awful stuff right beside it, dirty open gutters, aboki shacks, skyline/lowline of a hodgepodge of developement

There are also specialist companies who deliver concrete mix for slabs in Nigeria. All you have to do is to give them your plan and pay. You don't bother about water, workmanship, cement or sand or stone.
Just pay and they deliver!

You will pay an extra N8000 -N13000 per m3 of concrete for these specialist companies to provide you with concrete...we call it ready-mixed concrete. Major suppliers we know are SPG and LAFARGE.. there are some other smaller suppliers too.

Too expensive for one-man projects....its better for corporate high profile clients. Ready-mixed concrete is at least N40,000 per m3 now...I know SPG supplies at a rate of about N43,000 per m3...my company uses them and LAFARGE...LAFARGE's rate is about N41,000 per m3.

WHEREAS an average contractor will provide 1:2:4 concrete at a rate of between N30,000-N35,000 per m3. When you calculate the volume of concrete required in a block of flats development for instance, the difference in cost is substantial!!

Moreso, we have all seen that if you can put in the personal effort and buy th ematerials required yourself, you may save even more funds through negotiation skills, goodwill, e.t.c, savings that would otherwise have gone into the account of the company.

I guess that is why many people prefer those 'specialists' that only supply the Mixers and labour, while they provide the required materials.

It's usually a big challenge, sometimes there are details that might be very difficult to implement from the 3d renditions but with careful attention to details, you can go very near to the 3d. Having a team of dedicated workers also helps. We are doing this in 2 different sites this week.

Another thing we need to remember is that it's not everything our architects add to the 3d that will be found in the markets. Take for instance the ornamental designs labelled in the picture on this post. The builder will have to be creative in this instance, to make the exact forms, or very close replicas of the forms. You can even create something more beautiful than the 3d forms, but make sure your client is aware of what you are doing.

Spyder880 you're really trying I must say. Good commitment is what is seeing you through.

For the ornamental bit, one more course of block would have done the trick. But then would it be level with the rest of the roof? It's tricky though.

Thank you Sir, I made provision for the one course of block, and will use cement molding to create the lines which should be in the same level with the rest of the parapet line, but those curved looking ornamentals will be tricky cheesy

Thanks oga @EgunMogaji

@ourboss Its nearly impossible for a layman to identify names / types of wood. These sellers tend to mix the bad with good ones. You can go to the mill, find an elderly seller and beg him to help you with purchase. Most times, soft wood are usually light weight. Not all soft wood are bad wood though.

I was passing through this village and just stumbled on this old wall design in use in the 1960s. Just a touch of painting and its glittering again. Do we still have designer blocks as this in production? As you can see, no plastering needed.
This is Uburu in Ohaozara local government of Ebonyi state.

Big Eguns I need your help on this n others with a flair for IT.
What could be wrong with my laptop battery? Can I still remedy it? It's showing plugged but with a red X Sign on the battery icon. Once I take off the power source, the battery begins to blink yellow and after sometime it shuts down. I just bought it of recent in computer village. Thanks Man

Your battery is no longer good, I always advice people don't and emphasis lie on don't plug in your battery with your Laptop when your using the mains. i.e Remove your Laptop battery when your are you using the mains because the charging and discharging it does makes the battery goes bad after some time, you will start noticing when the power start to decrease with time. Except when you want to charge insert charge to 100% then remove

Well..

1) My Mac Air is sealed so no taking out batteries. No issue and it’s plugged in 24/7 since 2014.

2) I change my leased Business laptops every 2 years and I’ve never had issues.

Those days of managing batteries are long gone. There are intelligence built in to manage power now.

Attached is what I did on my builds. It's even a coach lower than in your picture. I was going by height and the closet measurement was by full block and without wastage.

I wanted exactly a bungalow, a low slung one that hugs the landscape as much as possible.

Now one can argue that 1 coach shouldn't make a difference. But where do we stop encroaching?

Just saw this bungalow... in the discussion about coaches. With your low coach, will you have enough space for the roofing nogging, and then the ceiling? How about air circulation in the roof to reduce heat? What are your thoughts?

I disagree that my coach height is low. I have enough height for my envisioned architectural needs without feeling cramped.

I think it's adequate for the style I wanted.

you stay in country where light is stable and current stays the same , while in Nigeria we have flauctating current which affects Laptops badly, e.g i have brought a lot of lappy's into the xountry and we noticed the fan rotatation going way high sometine we now wrote an algorithm to log the laptop we found Naija currents fluatate badly. which make with long time use the battery not to charge anymore till 100% with time 98 % then lower to 78 %

Stop that. I spent four months in Nigeria in the past year.

Besides, AC power doesn't go directly to the battery. It has to be changed to DC by the laptop/charger.

If the charger is bad then I can agree that over/undercharging maybe the culprit.

Hajj Mufutau, what's the reason why is Segcymoor unable to login with his old login name? I hope it's not as a result of misdemeanor like Brabus because I have a very high level of confidence in him and spyder

The simple reason is that our indigenous builders and the architects that produced the 3D drawing are singing from different hymn sheets. If you see an on going building construction in the developed countries of the world, you will see that when the construction is completed, it will look exactly like the 3D image displayed on the site.
