Hello Gurus in the house, I will need your advice on how to go about this matter. I just recently entered China with a scholarship and with a three months visa but processing my residence permit on student status based on the masters program. Although, before I left Nigeria I had applied for admission into one of the universities in the USA and upon arrival in China I was informed of my admittance to the USA university for masters program in Telecommunication and Networking Engineering which would last for two years, but that of the China with one year language course would last for four years (Information and Communication Engineering). Having thought in my mind I would preferred to go for the two years in USA. The initial address given to the school was Nigeria address. Please hope I can apply for F1 visa at the USA Embassy in China after I have collected my residence permit and redirect my admission letter to China since I would be applying from here. The university in USA would be resuming in January 2018 (Spring Term). Your kind contribution and articulate experience would highly be appreciated. Thank you all for the good work out here and God bless you all. 1 Like |

Please, I need assistance from the House. I am completing form DS-160 for F1 visa. I had been previously denied B1/B2 visa in 2013. Now, that the reason for refusal is asked, what should I state as reason for refusal after I have answered yes? I await your prompt advice. Thanks. |

Olufemiopa: What reasons were you given? Nothing right? But the generic refusal paper handed to you made reference to home ties and your inability to demostrate your purpose of travelling which made the VO see you as apotential immigrant. If you don't know, its simple as 'No reason given by the VO' |

LagosismyHome: While it is true that there is no law against that, you do have to realize that the loophole is available only because the USCIS does not intend that you have to return back to your home country anytime you are unable to attend your SÉVIS-registered school for reasons outside your control. It was not meant to become a routine way to beat visa interviews as it has clearly become. 2 Likes 1 Share |

I wasn't given any reasons but, the VO handed to me the normal blue paper where there is section 214 (b) of the US Immigration and Nationality Act... What reasons were you given? Nothing right? But the generic refusal paper handed to you made reference to home ties and your inability to demostrate your purpose of travelling which made the VO see you as apotential immigrant. Hello Great people of NL.. please i need help for my cousin. He as been granted admission and his on the stage of i20. He submitted his Dad's bank statement with reference letter from the bank but the school emailed him yesterday saying they need a CERTIFIED financial documentation from the bank sent directly to the school before they can issue his i20. We are all confuse about these because reference letter from the bank was also attached to the statement. Please if you have an idea of what that document is all about please kindly help out. akinlolu12:It depends on what’s youre looking out for. The school you outlined here hardly give funding especially Bridgeport. Can you fund the masters program. If you can’t I will advice you start preparing for GRE/GMAT and aim for better MBA school. |

A quick one here mentor, my sponsor is in Nigeria hope I can get his statement of account and sponsorship to use in China since am applying from China and the letter is re-addressed to China. Thank you for the prompt reply. |

Pelumiv: You think everybody here is doing SAT Majority of those responding to your questions are PhD holders. If you have trust problems, thats is your wahala o. If you want to register, I have referred many prospective undergrad students here to reputable centers to register for the exam in Lagos. If you can't do it on your own and you need help, Pm me. Here is not a platform to advertise. |

chinemomah2020: It's very simple. This time around, the documents: his dad's bank statement stamped, signed and dated by the bank to be sent directly by the bank not you sending it to the school. |

akinlolu12:You better apply to a school that would give you a scholarship sort of, even if your family is well-to-do. You still need to save and live your life like a man without depending on anyone. |
