Icon79:Couple with the fact that Rohr was appointed barely more than a month before the match and the Super Eagles too touched down and went to play and still defeated Zambia. It was a feat. Today Nigerians are shiitting in their pants saying Zambia ooo, Zambia ooo despite our comparative qualitative advantage over the Zambians while Zambians with their Zesco players are brimming with confidence. It's ironic. From my readings on the Zambian page I just concluded this is a nation of positive minded people. Thank God it's not fans but the players who will play the match. Moreover the worse that can happen is we lose(God forbid) but that doesn't mean we won't still qualify. 6 Likes |

mumemma:Your realism is laced with pessimism. Day and night are realities. Some look forward to the rising of the Sun, others to the falling of darkness. It's quite evident where your expectations lie. This team deserves 101% support and then some, even if - God forbid - the worse happens. 6 Likes |

I was watching the hosting of SE players by Akwa Ibon governor yesterday... Seriously all I saw was motivation... Telling them the importance of being at world cup and world cup can never be equate to champions league or European Cup... That they just try all their best to beat Zambia on Saturday... Giving example of judge weah that won all the trophy and being the best player in the world but he has never played in any world cup.. Also gave example of abedi pele of Ghana... After achieving everything in Africa but never play in world cup.. He told them no matter trophy they have won in their career can never be equate to going to world cup.. He applauded the discipline of the players telling them that this is the first set of SE players that will be so discipline and coordinated unlike past players that come to camp two days to the game... He said he wish they could just use their hand to put the ball inside the net on Saturday... He asked for permission to host them immediately after the game on Sat... The governor just they psyche theplayers .. The players knows what's at stake... The coaching crew knew too... There is no to be scared... By the special grace of God we will beat Zambia... Check this thing out... First game against Algeria at Uyo 3-1 Second game against Cameroon at Uyo 4-0 Third game against Zambia.. You guess is good as mine... Since have been following world cup qualifier.. Nigeria have never lost a penultimate match, we rather harmer the opponents even both home and away.. No shaken, carry Go super eagles. #SoarHighSuperEagles #SoarHighSuperEagles #SoarHighSuperEagles 10 Likes |

forgiveness: Gbenga was then and still is an enigma too me, how on earth did he make it into Barca. In that class of players in the 1999 U20 Flying Eagles, he was not the cream of the crop, but far from it. He had nothing that was exceptional that made him stand out. The NFF were so bamboozled if I am right made him captain. |

komekn:Of course you surely must have read Rohr repeatedly saying this is a different Zambian team than the one we beat last year. Mikel said we respect Zambia but it's time we wrap this up and the team as a whole has refused to be drawn into low mind games with Zambia with several players including Mikel saying they will do their talking on the pitch. So you see they know how to gauge things. It's different from fans who from the get go in the name of reality show so much fear so that when we win they'd be happy, if we are defeated they'd have the morbid pleasure of saying 'shebi I tell una' . That's the perspective I find difficult to swallow. Believe in your team to the hilt!! That's what the Zambians are doing. Go to their page and sample comments. 3 Likes |

Mujtahida: I tell you, Zambia with has more of Zesco and Zanaco players yet you can still feel the optimism from their fans but we still do not believe in our Eagles well I don't blame most sha sometimes when you put your hope that they win convincingly they quash and lose (God forbid we won't lose this). But all in all we wish the Eagles well and hope they seal this ticket for the fans and Nigerians as a whole. God bless the Super Eagles God bless Nigeria #SoarEaglesSoar 1 Like |

Assessing Super Eagles and Chipolopolo The Super Eagles will battle the Chipolopolo in a signature fixture that will determine a ticket to Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup. Here are some interesting clues before the matchup on Saturday inside the magnificent Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo,Akwa Ibom state;Nigeria. ● Zambia will be playing for an outright victory of with two goals or more to stand a chance of qualifying on final matchday and erase head to head formula out of the equation. ● Zanaco winger, Augustine Mulenga was a standout player for Zambia in their two victories over Algeria as he provided three out of the four goals the 2012 African Champions netted against the North Africans. ● Victor Moses and John Obi Mikel both scored in the home matches against Algeria and Cameroon,Mikel was infact a provider in both. Will they score again? ● Zambia started with a defeat against Nigeria, drew 1-1 with Cameroon before beating the Desert Foxes of Algeria twice which means that they are growing game after game as the three points they lost in their opener is still what separates them and Nigeria. ● The two teams have gone on to score in all matches while they can both only boast of a Cleansheet each. ● Nigeria always lead 2-0 in the first 45 minutes except in their last match away in Cameroon and always concede in the second half except in the home match against Cameroon which ended 4-0 in their favour while the Super Eagles are yet to concede in the first 45 minutes or trail. ● Nigeria has featured three different Goalkeepers(Carl Ikeme,Daniel Akpeyi and Ikechukwu Ezenwa) more than any other team in the Group. ● Zambia have four different scorers in the qualifiers(Collins Mbesuma×2,Brian Mwila×2,Enoch Mwepu and Patson Daka) with only Patson Daka and Enoch Mwepu in the squad for this match. ● Nigeria have six different scorers in the qualifiers(Victor Moses×3,John Obi Mikel×2,Kelechi Iheanacho×2,Moses Simon,Odion Ighalo and Alex Iwobi) and all of them are available for the match. ● Zambia scored first in their two previous away matches against Cameroon(1-1) and Algeria(0-1). nelszx:That's just it. Let's give them the benefit of the doubt. We didn't expect a win at Levy Mwanawasa stadium - they did it. Algeria nko? We cried Mahrez oo, Bentaleb ooo, Slimani will kill us- the Eagles did it. Cameroun- we began to pee, Bassagog is a speedster, they are African champions - we did it. Now at this stage I feel they've merited us reposing faith in them. They need the positive atmosphere and it's our responsibility as fans to give it to them. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Mujtahida: I see light, well MAINLY light but some darkness still and I will explain why. I have seen some people saying we can sit back if the Zambians sit back forcing them to come out and play, home ground does not support that. If I pay 5k to sit in the VIP corner and you are playing 0-0(plus a boring game) after 60mins, I will join and start chanting 'all we are saying...' and if you have been in that situation before you will run mad, and go all out attack forgetting what the coach said, this is what happens to Madrid, once it's 60mins and they are yet to score, the boos start ringing and the players get disorganised and become easy picking. If Zambia can withstand our attack till the 60th minute mark we are in trouble. Another point, the coach is going to show them some clips of that first leg. Trust me the Zambians had 3-4 very good chances that should be put away, if they have a proper team psychologist he will point out the fact that they have become more clinical since that match(I think they beat Algeria with only 2 shots on target), that is a nitro-level confidence booster. There mindset will be if we can create just that same number of chances like we did in the first leg, considering the fact that we are more clinical now and their gk is worse than ever, we may be able to put one away and hold out for the remainder of the game. If they score the first goal we have a big problem, I am not sure we have won a game that we conceded first under Rohr, he is not a tactical genius. Also, they may watch our clips from their first match against us down to our last match and notice one thing, our midfielders(Mikel is included) all take atleast 20mins to settle into any game and that is a bad omen. If they can take advantage of that by attacking through the middle instead of the wings in the first twenty minutes then they are sure of two good chances, that is assuming Onazi remains Onazi and is caught out of position a lot of times in the first half and Ndidi remains Ndidi who would rather concentrate on attack rather than defence. Finally they will watch that first leg again and discover that their lord and saviour(Echejile) who provided them with 3 good chances in the first leg is still our LB. Now Leon is a good CB, but he is different from Omeruo in the sense that he is always quick to rush out whenever a player beats his LB, now this is not really a bad thing but with proper tactics it becomes a bad thing. Create an overload and Leon is dinner, that is let the RW beat Echejile and while Leon comes out to mark the RB runs past Leon and receives a pass, that means Leon is out of the equation and assuming Onazi isn't back covering they have a safe passage to our 18. Now they have to pray that all these things go according to plan and they must remain clinical. If after the first twenty minutes they haven't scored then they should pull back and choke every attack and wait patiently for that 60-70th minute mark. All in all this will not be a blowout, quote me anywhere. You do not destroy Zambia, it is impossible, highest two goals, you do not see them at the wrong end of a proper hiding |
