I find it ironic and borderline comical that the Zambian coach, who barely a year ago talked down our team as "relying on kids' as against his experienced warlords, is nowbragging about how youthful his team is. Dude is now a believer in youth..

Iheanacho and Iwobi have succeeded in turning an "Icon4s' into a "thegoodjoe' grin

No mind that coach.

He wants to compare the EXPERIENCE AND EXPOSURES of our young players to those of his boys that play at Zanaco FC.

Victory Or Nothing Against Zambia - Simon

By Augustine Akhilomen

Super Eagles winger, Simon Moses has disclosed that team would do everything within their will power to overcome the challenge of Zambia in Uyo and qualify for the 2018 World Cup.

Simon scored in Nigeria's 1-1 draw against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in Yauonde last month that put the team one step from qualifying for the World Cup.

He stated that victory remains the only language the players understand in camp when they face them on Saturday.

''Victory is what everyone needs on Saturday. We know the importance of qualifying for the World Cup, so my colleagues and I will push everything we have in us to get the result,'' Moses Simon told the Nigeria Football Federation.

I don't think the Germans are as insecure as England. All this foreign born doesn't freak me but walahi if we get those two German trained guys, Felix and Torunarigha in our defence I will really be happy.

Hopefully, we qualify for the world cup and lure them with the glory of participating in the world cup.

The Germany of Sidney's era is not the same as the Germany of today. Then they were lean but presently Germany has entered her harvest season. So we can snick these guys away from them and they won't grumble.

Na so Liberia make mouth in 2012. At the end we drubbed them. Even Stuart Baxter was very measured in his utterances. Nigeria doesn't like being insulted. That's why I fear for this Zambians. But then one nil is good enough.

God bless you, my broad!

If I hear about Zambia's young talent again, I will puke. You don see naija wey get old talents. Yup, Ekong, Simon, VicMo, Nacho, Iwobi, Etebo, Ighalo, Ndidi .... they are all old cargos, on their last legs of their journey. I can't wait for tomorrow to arrive so we can put this game to bed.

Is it possible we could lose tomorrow? Absolutely! Football can be a funny game, sometimes 2 times 2 doesn't always give you 4. Think how Venezuela almost beat the Argies last month. However, what pisses me off is all these prophecies of doom. I am confident that we'll beat Zambia and I will tell you why:
First, we're playing at home and would defend the home court
Second, we've learned our lessons from the SA game
Third, player to player, we're better than the Zambians
When two teams are both playing well at the same time, the better team would prevail
Player to player, we've more experience than the Zambians
And it may come down to experience
If you watched England vs Slovania yesterday, it all came down to experience
Slovenia was totally outplaying them at Wembly, but inexperience cost them the match
Slovenia made one mistake and England (Walker and Kane) capitalized
Nobody is saying that this is gonna be an easy game
But the cream would rise to the top in the end

They think they can play BALL.

Oh Nig 1-Den 4,Taribo and Rufai w never forget this match,d match Okocha played for himself not d team.

That team should have been our best but Abacha ruined everything, failing to participate in Afcon 96 and also our suspension from Afcon 98 really affected d team but a lot were carried away with names of d players in d squad forgetting no cohesion in d team.

Rohr should use our France 98 team as a case study with d preparation of his team coz it's similar. The present team failed to qualify for afcon 2015 & 2017 after winning Afcon 2013 just like after winning Afcon 94 we failed to defend it due to political reasons in 96 & 98.

As u said we should not underrate Zambia.I quite agreed with u d team still have a long way to go,South Africa match really shown us that we need to have a balance team where individual absence w not be felt much, remeber it was Togo friendly match prior to Atlanta 96 that shaped d dream team in Atlanta 96.

Zambia's Game A Match We Must Win - Mikel

Ahead of Saturday's do-or-die 2018 World Cup qualifier against Zambia, Super Eagles midfielder and captain, Mikel Obi has reiterated that the team won't underrate the Chipolopolo and will allow their play to do the talking on the pitch.

Both teams will be hoping to seal the three points in order to book the automatic ticket for the mundial slated for Russia.

Nigeria are top of Group B with 10 points while Zambia sit second on 7 points after round of five matches played so far.

However, the former Chelsea midfielder, who has only featured in one World Cup appearance, told thenff.com on Thursday that they are ready to pick the maximum points on Saturday against Zambia.

We know how important the match is; that is enough motivation to go all out and give our very best. There are several players in this team who have not played at the FIFA World Cup. They want to be there in Russia next year.

“The talking will be done on the pitch. I have no doubt we have the quality to achieve victory, but we will not make the mistake of under–rating the Zambians.”

Good points, but thank God Moses V,Mikel,Balogun, Ighalo are in d team, nothing more we are winning.

Based on player to player, remember Algeria,Cameroon are ahead of Zambia but d same Zambia are in forefront to disturb us from qualifications.

Despite having better players than South Africa, hope u remember what happens.

The major point i value so much in your comments was that of experience of Walker and Kane that made England beat Slovena.

I know d same experience w come to play against Zambia coz availability of Moses V,Mikel,Balogun,Ighalo w surely make d difference.

I remember that Denmark match emmm....We had no light that faithful evening. It was a Sunday evening. My sister and I dashed off to our Pastor's house and we together with Pastor's kids begged him to put on the gen. We were a crowd and as the TV set will come on....wooh.....
we saw Rufai picking the ball from the net. I then said to all, "it's Spain's match, Nigeria match has not started, remember Spain scored first. it's just the highlights"

Lol...Omo...we look well na Denmark o....Naija don begin collect..I remember one Danish player, Sand or so....

some of us don't feel nervous at all, football is a game you win, draw or loose, nff's life depends on this so you can't blame them. But don't you think if Nigeria can't win tomorrow's game, then we have no business at the world cup? We need to win to continue to rubber stamp our credentials as african soccer giants. Only two african countries scare me no matter how good we are on any day; Egypt and Ghana, for the rest african countries , no chill not even CIV. Despite the way we abuse our team, all african countries still dread the eagles including even Ghana and Egypt, forget the noise, Nigeria is a scare any day for all african teams

bro sometimes football is not maths no matter the pedigree of a team. argentina yesterday drew with peru at home. the peruvians are no where near the argentines in talent but hey stuffs happen. france last month thrashed netherlands then surprisingly drew with luxembourg that's football for you.

like you i'm quietly confident we will win tomorrow so no worries. i only posted that for people who are feeling unduly scared

a draw tomorrow is still not a bad result in itself so what's the scare all about, did we not loose to congo 3-1 in calabar few years back, even south africa beat us 2-nil there in uyo so what's the fuss about? Reason I said if we can't win tomorrow, then we are not good enough to be in the world cup. Argentina has been in bad form of recent but the eagles have been in good form of late so why are some folks so scared?

The way some nigerians are scared eh, they will prefer FIFA to be dashing us 3 points instead of playing for the points.

Iwobi Can Be Among The Best Players If... Wenger

By Augustine Akhilomen

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has revealed that Super Eagles forward, Alex Iwobi must improve on his goal scoring ability if he must be rated among the best players in the Premier League.

Iwobi is presently with the Super Eagles as they intensify training ahead of Saturday's crucial 2018 World Cup qualifier against Zambia in Uyo.

He was on the score sheet as Arsenal defeated Brighton 2-0 in Sunday's EPL encounter at the Emirates Stadium.

“I think he is the kind of player who has a good availability and helps you a lot to get out of pressure when you’re in the build-up and creates spaces.

“What we want of him is final balls and goals as well. A player like him must score 10 goals and he must get between six and 10 assists. That’s what I want of him.”

How Mikel Reacted To Iwobi’s Desire For His Eagles Jersey Number 10 – I Will Soon Retire

Captain of the Super Eagles of Nigeria John Obi Mikel gave a cheeky response to a question ‎directed at Alex Iwobi on if he is keen to inherit Mikel’s Super Eagles number ten jersey.

During the Super Eagles interactive session with the media, Iwobi was asked if he has the desire to emulate the shirt number made famo‎us by his uncle Austin Okocha during his playing days with the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

” I don’t want to talk about this because as you can see, my captain is already slapping me”, Iwobi said and it sparked the hall into a round of laughter.

” In regards to the shirt, I’m not really fazed about the shirt. If I get number 10, I get it. All I know is I’m here to represent my country and I’m proud to wear the colours. I’m not really fazed about what shirt (number) I’m wearing and really my uncle (Okocha) does not pressure me. I mean, I focus on myself “.

After Iwobi has given the above response, Mikel collected the microphone from the Arsenal forward and jokingly said to the man who scored one of the goals when Nigeria beat Zambia 2-1 in the reverse fixture of Saturday’s game in Ndola ” Don’t worry, I will soon retire for you”.
