Let's just say: they would squeeze just by and then pull a surprise by winning it all.
Now, howz dat grin

Seriously, the god of soccer should issue an apology to all the soccer fans in the world if the greatest footballer of all time fails to kiss the biggest prize of them all. That's not fair and shouldn't happen!

GERNOT ROHR SPEAKS

Rohr: How We’ll Determine Super Eagles XI Vs Zambia
October 6, 2017 1:32 pm
By Nurudeen Obalola

(Photo by Ganiyu Yusuf) in Uyo

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has listed the factors that will determine his starting team for Saturday’s Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier against Zambia here in Uyo, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Rohr has a bit of a selection headache with all the 23 players he invited fit for the match in which a win for Nigeria will secure passage to the World Cup.

“The players are all ready for the Zambia challenge and will support whoever we pick to start on Saturday,” Rohr said here in Uyo.

“We’ll consider each player’s fitness and what happened in our last games against Cameroon when we decide on the starting 11. It’s also easy these days to monitor players’ performances for their clubs as there is internet.

“We also monitor the players and follow their progress with our scouting team. We will try to find the best 11 on Saturday.”

Rohr admitted that Zambia will be a tough team, but he has huge confidence in his side’s abilities.

“We have a focused group of players and we all want to qualify for the World Cup. It’s in our hands and we want to get the job done,” he added.

Nigeria lead African qualifying Group B with 10 points from four games and a win over their only surviving challengers will seal their spot in Russia.

Ademola Lookman has not reached the heights once predicted. There are no more clamors for him to join the national team.

Plus we have so many young players that play that role.

This is the time to lure him to play for Nigeria because by the time he starts playing, you will see what he is made of and it will be too late to get him.

There are better players than him right now, Bonaventure, Olayinka, Onyekuru etc, even Aluko.

I think we should concentrate on getting quality back-ups for our defenders because in that role, we already have Cyriel,Dennis Bonaventure,Kayode,Iheanacho and Ighalo.

Out of these only 3 might go to the WC.

hahaha.. sir, Ademola needs to get his career back on track. But it will be hard for Nigeria to help him now, because we have young exciting players ahead of him. He may be another Ebuehi even if we get him. Not ruling them out prematurely, but switching allegiance to Nigeria is not a guarantee either.

Ebuehi is still part of the Nigerian set up. It is not as if we have plenty right backs. He is in a better position than Lookman

What's your take on the call by the fans for him to assume that mantle? You have seen the game right? Do you think he fits the bill?

Plz act like a neutral and don't be patriotic with your answer

He had a great game and was given a standing ovation when he was subbed.

His chances are bright but it is too early. He should just focus on his development.

How you approached him matters. grin

However, the boy wanted to experience the U20 World Cup and it turned out to be successful.

That event somehow gave him the hope to play for England but his situation now is the best to show love. grin

If we show ourselves once he starts doing well again then he knows we are only gold diggers. grin

This is the best time to approach all those that participated in the U20 world cup. grin

With Shehu and Aina battling for the right back slot, that leaves Ebuehi out unless he slugs it out with Echiejile. Although he and Aina can play the right back as well as left back. I pray he succeeds with us. So it would not be Nigeria doing what England has done on players like Fash

NETHERLANDS: Eerste Divisie - Round 8

Sittard vs NEC
Ex Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh will lead his wards once again tonight as Sittard host Arnaut Danjuma's Nijmegen.
Sittard is coming of an overwhelming 6-0 victory over Telstar from the previous round, and are looking to extend their incredible 5-match undefeated streak. While their opponents have gone 3 matches undefeated, Sittard have won their last 3 matches.
Sittard now trail log leaders, Jong Ajax by a single point, and lead 3rd placed Nijmegen by 4 points.

Firstly of all, Ademola-lookman is not a striker. He can in multiple roles though.

Secondly, I am interested in giving him a call up now that his stock is low and not necessarily taking him to the world Cup, but he impresses when called, why not? grin

Give all of them the chance to prove themselves. grin

Yet, Ademola is not even on Everton bench and they are looking to recall Onyekuru. If he was so great, they won't need Onyekuru yet.

He is still very much in SE set up like Omeruo.
Doesn't nullify my point. Change of allegiance don't guarantee anything. It doesnt guarantee you will displace whoever is currently playing a specific role in SE. You still have to fight for a shirt.
