I saw my daughter's answer script last term. She is my only child in prmary five now.she was asked to write a letter to her brother or sister telling he or she where she would want to spend her long vacation. She wrote "I dont have a brother and sister." The teacher did not score her in that essey. We teach our daughter not to tell lies. But l think the teacher should have scored her the full marks for being truthful. Lets encourage our children to be truthful. 6 Likes |

maybe you should home school her. next time, just cancel the topic and rewrite it to 'Imagine you have a brother or sister, write to him or her...... '. It's just to teach them how to write. What if she is taught letter writing, would you tell her not to learn to write an application for employment? I am sure they also teach her, how to help her parents at home by washing dishes, taking care of younger ones, sweeping, etc. my kids still write that their father clears the compound, pays their fees and drops them at school, they have not had a father for three years now, I just read it and laugh. I wouldn't want them writing, I don't have a father every single time. |
