he was in Yaoundé too, but he son didn't play
now his boy is on the bench, hopefully he might play today

Likewise iwobi's father too..

Their POPMan follow them everywhere.. I was listening to iwobi's father saying he has been following his son since he was 4...

this rohr is just too conservative for my liking
Heyyyy!! In this very crucial match you expect him to go radical? Haba na. Is this not the line up that secured 4:0 against Cameroun? Rohr's first assumption is to believe that this same line up can get the job done. If it does not then he can switch. Iwobi and Aina dey pepper una for body baa? Omo, to qualify is more important to me now that fancy experiments oo. If he does pem and anything happens they will say why did he go change the line up. It's not conservatism, it's wisdom.

Yes I don't think it did. The ball has to cross the line completely. How could you tell from that angle? The linesman will have to be standing by the corner flag to tell from the way it happened.

Simple, he can play there. Secondly, he can help more defensively there.. he can also spring his long passes from there. My argument is we will get the best of him there while relying on Iwobi to be the initiator in attack with his short passes, something he is known for in Arsenal. He, Iwobi, will match the zambians youth for youth, speed for speed.. Mikel and Ndidi's partnership at the rear will not only be a perfect cover for our CB's but will also provide good support for our FBs. A little bit cautious you may say, but that's what we need at this stage.

Iwobi can do all that from the flanks.

Mikel's killer final passes would be key for us in this game.

Nigeria vs Zambia – Rohr Explains Why Moses Simon Will Start Ahead Of Arsenal Iwobi

Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has dropped a hint on why Moses Simon will get the ‎nod to start ahead of returning Arsenal ace Alex Iwobi.

Iwobi is back in the team after missing their back to back game against Cameroon, which was there last World Cup 2018 Qualifiers and the four points picked in the tie helped them cement their spot as group leaders.

Moses Simon played both games from the left side of attack, and was on target in the ‎game in Yaounde which ended 1-1, and according to Rohr the goal puts him in a strong position to start ahead of Iwobi.

” I’m happy to have already the choice because we have good competition, a fair competition between our players”, the coach said.

” We had two good games against Cameroon, because Moses Simon scored in the second game, he can start against Zambia. It’s a good thing in the team to have several possibilities for the starting team.

” Somebody can start the game, the other one can finish it. So we need everybody, we need Alex, we need Simon, we need all the 23 players we have, and I’m really happy about the spirit in the team because there’s no problem in the team.

” If Alex starts or not, it’s not the problem. The most important thing is to win the game”.

Big shout out to Manu Garba, Emmanuel Amunike, Ndukka Ugbade and the other coaches who selected and worked with the current crop of Young players in the National junior teams. Their hardwork is yielding efforts.

I beg you young ballers. Do not forget your coaches when you are in Paradise. Grease them with some foreign currencies once in a while to keep mind and soul together. cheesy

Those men deserve a lot of credit

One can argue that Rohr is conservative but I like the staring line up. Except maybe for echiejile, I think this line up would get the job done. I expect the celebration to start from the pitch. It therefore is in order to let the business men take care of business, score 2-3 goals before the 60minute mark, then bring in our entertainers, our artists to start the celebration from the pitch.

Iwobi for Simon, etebo for Onazi, Iheanacho for ighalo.
These three, with their dribbling skills and passing ability will entertain us for the last 30minutes while the orchestra that is the fans, will spice things up with their oohhh oohhh ahhh ahhh shouts.

Soar Eagles, Soar.

Nigeria vs Zambia: What Super Eagles need to qualify for 2018 World Cup – Siasia
Ifreke Inyang

Siasia

Former Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia, has said he is in Uyo, to support the team as they take on Zambia, in a crunch 2018 World Cup qualifier on Saturday.

Siasia, who led Nigeria’s U-23 Dream Team to the last Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil where they won bronze, arrived Friday evening from Abuja, where he has been focusing on his Academy.

“I am a Nigerian and I have decided to travel to Uyo just like every other Nigerians, to support the Super Eagles in their bid to qualify for the World Cup in Russia.

“I believe the Super Eagles will qualify for the World Cup, if we can all give them our support and believe in them,” he told CompleteSports.

Nigeria top Group B with 10 points from four games and need an outright win over Zambia who are on seven points, to qualify before the last day of the qualifiers.

Well, I like to get entertained after a well deserved victory, who better to provide this entertainment than the sleek ever running, tireless etebo. Also want to see Aina but since Rorh didn't start him, I don't think he'll bring him in. Pappy is not so keen on defensive subs.

NO ROOM FOR COSTLY MISTAKES AGAINST ZAMBIA, WARNS GARBA LAWAL

Samuel Ahmadu

www.nairaland.com/attachments/6072697_spereagles_jpeg022d6e537d598c0e1c0ea8c614879f7f

With the Super Eagles setting their sights on securing the World Cup ticket against the Chipolopolo, the former midfielder urges them to avoid errors.

Garba Lawal has warned Nigeria to be vigilant and avoid costly mistakes against Zambia in their crucial World Cup 2018 qualifier.

Gernot Rohr's men have upper hands ahead of the crunch tie with three-point advantage as table-toppers.
But the Chipolopolo still retain chances of qualifying for the showpiece in Russia if they can upset the Super Eagles in Uyo.

"We must get it right with our selection against Zambia," Lawal told Goal.

"When I watched Argentina and Brazil, the Argentines dominated the game and did everything to score but luck was not on their side. They had about eight chances but couldn't score from any of them.

"The players know the importance of being at the World Cup, so they have to give 200% and everything in the 90 minutes against the Zambians and we are there," he continued.

"They need to concentrate more and all through the game to avoid mistakes. There should be no room for costly mistakes though there could be one error or the other but not costly ones.

"I hope with that mentality, the way they've to start is important and Zambia are talking rough ahead of the match. We have everything - the fans, everyone backing the team and the home advantage to win the game. It doesn't matter how we win or about playing good football, what matters is the three points."
