Onazi is the turbo of that midfield. We were lucky to escape with a victory in his absence.

Confirmed:
Iwobi and V. Moses are our first choice wingers.
All other wingers are back ups.

Congrats to super Eagles for making it to Russia ......Rohr is a very Good tactician
yeah .congrats..
on rohr being a very good tactician
I think you took the praise too far
yes he is good but not very good...

he err in this match...he already made up his mind on the starting 11 prior releasing the 23 man list
and thats bad ...
even reasonable coach should know the effect of players psychology...
I told someone while watching the match...
a good coach ought to let Iwobi and nacho start this match...
reason because of the psychological edge over the Zambians
they both scored in ndola...it is certain one of them will score today if let to play...

south Africa coach knew this..
that's why he invited and played rantie against us in uyo and same rantie scored...

yeah...very
you're right...
nacho in this game would have offer much than ighalo...

rohr should have know...that partly the reason ighalo excelled against the Cameroonians was because they are mainly a physical side...rely much on their strength to play football unlike the Zambians who are better technical and skillful...

nacho would have offer more in this match..

Mikel Agu played well. He started off slow (maybe due to nerves), but he grew into the game. Covered our fullbacks well and had a few interceptions. He scared everybody with his early booking...

Yes o.. I was kind of worried when he came off... Etebo might have been a better player to bring on
yeah ..I think reason because rohr fear that etebo is more attacking minded so need to track back and keep the Zambians at bay made him thrown in agu....

but his decision to start elderson today and ighalo leaves me surprised...
especially elderson...I doubt he watches Super Eagles tapes

Proudly Nigerian. Enroute Russia.
But wait oh. Qualifying this early isn't a Nigerian thing. APC has destroyed this country.

Truth be told, Agu played better in the second half but should not be the first replacement in Midfield.

Good thing, We still have a long time till the world cup.

Haba, hosanna today, crucify him tomorrow. Ighalo was immense in the double header against cameroun. Just cos he didn't score doesn't mean he has no business in the team. Even if he didn't do anything today, his assist Simon hit over the bar might have been scored by Mikel if Simon had left the ball. Odion is still relevant o.

I was expecting you to reply this...
may be you never saw that attack he inniated that led to his substitution.

yeah etebo will offer more offensively but definetely not defensively.
so far so good...onazi has made more interceptions than even ndidi...
you can go replay our Cameroon match
so throwing in etebo in his place..will likely expose the midfield for the Zambians to explore...

prior his removal...he lived up to expectation.

I disagree with you. Rohr was right in starting with the team that won Cameroun. It was with great reluctance that he fielded Simon ahead of Iwobi cos reports were that Iwobi had scored three goals in camp but Rohr didn't want to change the team. Onazi's injury destabilised his set up yet he didn't panic even though I don't fancy Agu(he's not bad though. He will get better)
I knew Iwobi would come in for Simon and he came right at the point the Zambians were exhausted and thus Iwobi had great and immediate impact.

na anxiety. Even Moses played with anxiety. But yes we should have another option if not even better than him.

Humility017:

to be honest with you...if we must go far at the world cup...
we really need a top 9...
those chances ighalo missed today....a very clinical team will make you pay for it.

can you name just two chances that Zambia created after Agu came on? We hardly gave much away in the second half, in fact they didn't have a single clear cut chance in the second half. This wasn't a lucky win

Like Joebie said, I think it might be good to try out a midfield combination of onazi/ndidi with mikel and iwobi. To be honest Mikel isn't young anymore I don't think he can be running around like the young boys. Probably he should become like a pirlo for us, orchestrating things from a deeper midfield role but with another tireless dmf beside him to do the ball chasing and harassment of opposing team members.

Just a thought.

That guy is good. Bringing in Ogu would have been a mistake. The game was just too pacy. Even Balogun could hardly cope but Ekong held the forte. I guess that's why it's called a team

Onazi made more interceptions than Ndidi in the game because he was the last midfielder, no brainer there.

Etebo in that middle would have gone straight into the CMF role and Ndidi would move into the DMF role and we won't know Onazi was subbed except for his hair color that would go missing.

Which attack are you talking about anyways?

Yes but you know they tired out. Their plan was to score in the first half and then possibly park the bus and if they had scored ehn they would have had opportunity to hit us again on the counter cos omo our guys were under serious pressure and they would have surged forward.

you making me laugh..

reason why I tell you...that he is not a top good coach...
a coach ought to field players in line wit his tactics and nature of opponent to play...
and not because they won or lost last match played several.weeks ago...alot of things have changed....
sometimes you alter a winning team to make it look better...

if you watch the epl you will understand this pathological edge players have over teams...
I tell you nacho would have offer better than ighalo today....

I was so comfortable playing Simon Moses against the Cameroon...watchin his play in the friendly in Brussels...I know he will repeat same feet...
