You have exhibited a very noble Christian virtue and God will bless you for it BUT YOU HAVE NOT PAID YOUR TITHE.

Malachi:3:10 Clearly said: Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house...

The Scriptures the other guys are quoting was not referring to Tithe.

Can you tell a Juju priest that you have given the sacrificial goat to a beggar on the roadside and come to his Shrine for his blessing when he didnt ask you to..

and where is d meat and food... instead we see exotic cars ND mansions and jets

The bible says you should bring your tithe into the store house, not give it to a begger, beware of disobidience
Do you take money into a store house?

I have read teh Bible, trust me, have you?the levites are they in the church?

No they are in the bush and in water. One thing is to read Bible the other is to understand it.

My brother, Tithe is different from giving to the poor go and ask your pastor.

He is right my brother. Tithe is done in church not on the street. read your Bible well.
Malachi 3:10New International Version (NIV)

10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.

As you can see, no church was mentioned and we cant add to the words of the bible!

It's Wonderful to give to the poor... INFACT the Bible specifically talks about dt.

But Your Tithe is not a gift. Neither is it your money. Your Tithe is GOD's SHARE of your Money. And He Directs where it should be taken to. See Malachi 3:10

It was a very stressful week for me as it involved lots of travels and all. So its a Saturday and I was paid for a project I did for the month past.

Going by my tired nature, I knew deep down me that there was no way I could have made it to church the next day and I was hell bent on paying my tithe because of the inherent blessings therein and the last thing on my mind would be to give it to my nebor to pay it for me. (The guy broke and besides I didn't want him to start calculating my take-home (Na sharp man). And I knew deep down that if I keep the money till the next time I would be in church, I was sure I would spend it. (God have mercy on me sha)

So I decided even before getting home to package my tithe and while in the market on a shopping spree I package my tithe and dropped it in the plate of an old beggar. (A mulsim beggar precisely)

Instantly, I saw 50 shades of shocks on her face as she looked at me for a few seconds and I could read her facials more like "For this Buharia?" Lols. And before I disappeared into the crowd, I could see/read her lips mutter prayers pointing towards me. And deep down, I felt blessed and fulfilled.

But was I wrong to have given my 10percent to a beggar instead of to the alter?

Opinions please.

OP still wondering if given your 10 percent to a beggar instead to the alter is wrong?

This interview will give you the answer with clear fact.
Enjoy it...

What a lot of Christians (as evidenced in this thread) don't want to know is that paying tithes is not a requirement in this new dispensation (The New Testament!)

Because Jesus paid it all (He fulfilled all obligations and requirements) angry

You should give (without compulsion) as lead by the Spirit of God!

Well done OP smiley

Hell awaits you

How will pastors buy private jets if every church members keep doing like you did?

better go back to the beggar, get your money back and give the pastor so that there may be "meat" and he can pour out his blessings so big that you won't have space to contain them, hell awaits you if you don't do like I instructed

I will not say you are right or wrong you deeply know what you are thinking before given it to the beggars. But my advice to you is to do and act according to the will of God. Jesus is Lord. A word is enough for a wise

you just shot your self in the foot man with this ur assertion, I guess it applied wholly to our Niaja god of men.I once worshipped in a church pastor by an English man and you won't believe it he was simply addressed by his first name.

No unnecessary aggrandizement and showmanship. No vaulting ambition.

What people do does not nullify the gospel or the laws of God. It is like saying because the police drives against traffic it is now right to do that. The fact that a lot of pastors abuse privileges and even steal does not excuse you from obedience. The bible both old and new testament have references to those who committed similar acts and the consequences they faced. Moreover scriptures warn those to whom God has entrusted with His people and Their substance. They will answer when the time is right. Will you hide behind them like Eve blamed the serpent and Adam blamed Eve. We will all get punished if we fail to obey, period.

The Bible further warns in that in the end times that, 'because of the abundance of sin, the love of many (love of God, love of the Word, love of their neighbours) will grow cold...' and you should insulate yourself from that to avoid disobedience. God knows that at this time in history His resources will be embezzled by wolves in sheep's skin but His work must go on so keep obeying.

PROPAGATING GOD'S WORD NEEDS MONEY

Exactly, we all know that Billy O'naire of Aramaicia sponsored the propagation of God's word by Jesus Christ, Paul and Peter. This was amply subsidised by donations from the widows, orphans and the beggars.

When it comes to tithing, the house of the lord is specifically mentioned so that there will be food in God's storehouse. Giving to people who lack is a different thing entirely

2. What is storehouse?
3. How do you access it?
4. Who is the stakeholder of storehouse?

You are very wrong bro. read Malachi 3:10 and notice the keywords STOREHOUSE, MINE HOUSE. You do not love the poor more than God. Simple obedience is better than works. Saul lost his heritage because of Simple obedience.

He said food and its once in three years!,
He never said the house of the Lord! stop changing the scriptures, we know the difference btw the house of the lord and store house.
House of the lord is church, store house is garage to store food!
