364 days for stanbic was successful and accounts were debited on thursday night. If your account has not been debited by this time then it is either the person that logged it doesn't know how to log or forgot to log it. How unfortunate. Pele.

So sad right now. I felt betrayed. The contact in question is a close friend. Should have invested the money since last month and even got a better rate. This guy begged me, Had to put the cash in fix deposit for his sake cos he needed it to safe his ass, with an agreement that it will be terminated by first week of October to meet Up with Wednesday tb bidding. Sad part is, he's the one in charge of tb so I think it's a deliberate mistake. My confusion is that the fix deposit has been terminated and the money already in my savings account, so I don't know why he would do that. In fact I got so worried, had to call him this weekend and he said I'm not the only one, that many people have not been debited. Thank God I ask here, I mostly don't ask questions here cos I felt I had an edge with an insider.
All is well. I will walk into bank on Monday and grab any secondary market offer on ground. Thanks guys

According to Google
The Nigerian Inter-bank Offered Rate (NIBOR) represents the short-term lending rates of selected banks in the Nigerian inter-bank market, quoted as annualised rates.

Possible we have seen 9% before

The 9% was for 364 days, shorter tenors had lower interest rates.

It appears a lot of us on this thread started investigating in Treasury Bills less than 2 years ago.

Those who have been investing in Treasury Bills for a minimum of 10 years will attest to the need for one to be approximately diversified across various asset classes.

Sir,
With regards to assets diversification, can you give a possible list of the outlets to purchase Bonds and how do go about it? or do we approach like Treasury bills?

A broker or the investment section in your bank can help you.

High interest rate is very bad to the economy, but we Treasury Bills investors are selfish. The higher the interest rate the better for us even though it may lead to businesses folding up , inflation going up and unemployment on the increase.

Can treasury bill high rate affect development like that when bank lending rate is more than 2x tb.

Bank lending rate is directly proportional to Treasury Bills interest.

You already made a mistake thinking your money will save him from being sacked. Every month comes with a fresh target and Tbills in Stanbic in handled by the Enquiry staff. The Enquiry staff is not under much pressure to bring in Liability (cash) like the Marketers/Relationship managers as that is their KRA. That is how one banker in Sterling was begging me to do fix deposit as against Tbills. In his words 'Do it for me'... Mtcheww I didn't even bother to reply him... My body language spoke volumes.

Just left first bank now. Had to go very early because people are not smiling anymore grin

Although I wanted anything above 300 days but I got 269 @ 17% and grabbed it immediately.

Got debited and now waiting for my interest smiley

Very smart unlike some people that will leave it and come here to ask if it is okay knowing fully well that rates are going down and the juicy secondary market is shrinking.
