tbaba1234: Na lie you lie because I watched football at the National stadium steadily. Especially when we hosted major competitions. I watched all our matches during the 2000 nations cup at the National stadium save the finals because of..... There was no time the players where booed nor stoned because their games were entertaining. If you play boring game you should expect to be booed. However, I only witnessed booing and throwing of pure water when the U23 were thrashed by Togo in our last friendlies before the Olympics in 1996. You no know wetin dey happen. |

forgiveness: Nigeria '99, after Nigeria drew with Costa Rica in Lagos, the Lagosian fans pelted the players with stones. It caused a security situation where players could not leave because of the violent actions of the Lagosian fans. Armed personnel had to disperse the crowd to take our players out of the stadium. 3 Likes |

forgiveness: In the nations cup after we lost to Cameroon.. Wetin happen? Weren't the players stoned with pure water? Before we stopped playing games in Lagos, Booing was normal when the team is playing badly. Uyo fans are always behind the team. Lagos is great when Nigeria is playing well but if we are playing rubbish. Lagos can be a difficult place to play. They can start supporting the away team, giving them more confidence. 7 Likes |

Joebie: So because Machin does not want to give Kayode a credible run, he should not go to the World Cup. However, when Kayode was banging goals in Austria, he deserves a spot. You can see that the criteria is no more on the quality of the player but favor of coaches. |

forgiveness:my question is how many players are we going to give chance within this short period, we are expecting about 5 friendlies before the final build up, what if these players u guys clamouring for performed so well during some of the friends like Ogbechi did,n flops during the WC cup proper. for me,most of these new players should only b given a chance after d WC. We still have AFCON for them to play. |

TheGoodJoe: Potential is what it is, just possible unrealised, unproven, untested, prospective ability NOTHING ELSE. Prove your potential don't speculatively presume. If you cannot cut it in your club ceteris paribus then the SE should not be a testing centre. You must be proven and tested before invitation. Then you can prove your ability in training and games. 2 Likes 1 Share |

tbaba1234: You point is clear. You must have the right mentally of a champion before you embark on playing in Lagos. The reaction of Lagos fans will be great if they played the match against zambia in Lagos because they will first of all demoralize the Zambians with booing and defying noise and it could spur Eagles to score more goals with a more entertaining game. But if they eventually lose after all the wahala dey go through, bros.... 1 Like |

soetanoreoluwa: scoring goalz, have you thought about the supply first, especially that supply from Simon, check it again, most of them are over-hit, hence his difficulty is reach and control, look at that goal against Cameroun, if mikel had over hit it, me and you both know, there will be no goal, even nacho wont have made any different COs he had been in that position before, against south africa |

It's normal for Lagosians to make such requests. Who no go like the match to take place for e backyard? But don't cry foul if it doesn't happen. It's very normal for national teams to have a home stadium. For now, and maybe in a long time to come, it will remain in Uyo. forgiveness: 2 Likes |

komekn: I will repeat precisely the same point. A player can be quality and not get a chance in a club. Look at Victor Moses who could not cut it for years. Today he is one of the best in the EPL. Simple, select a large pool, do a thorough screening and select the best. Kayode is a good example that club performance is not a guarantee of quality. Some Players have bad seasons and then perform well in the World Cup and vice versa. Del Piero was the highest goal scorer in the Champions League, breaking the scoring record in 97/98 season. Went to France 98 World Cup and did not score one goal in the World Cup. The best bet to get an unsentimental selection is to screen a pool of potentials and select the best. 1 Like |

forgiveness: Na you dey lie. Our second match in AFCON 2000 against Congo goalless draw is an example. During the match I watched on TV as the fans were throwing bottles at Gbenga Okunowo when he was about to take a corner kick. If you were at the stadium and you missed that, I suggest that you start watching from the TV to see better. The team bus was even stoned even though we didnt lose the match 2 Likes |

Icon4s:i expect 90-95% making it to WC,there is no better player else where than the ones we have. unless if the new play should go to EPL and score 20-25 goals before the WC,or go to Italy,Spain and Germany n score 30 goals. |

TheGoodJoe: I disagree with your view on Victor Moses. He was playing first team football for Palace at about 16/17 was doing great before bring sold to Wigan then after a reasonablly good season went to Chelsea. And all the various loan moves. He just under Conte flourished in a new position in top class winning team. I agree about club politics and other issues. In my opinion Danny Shittu is one of our best CB but he was left to rot at Bolton. There are exceptions and sometimes some players cannot transfer club form to national team vice versa too. It happens that's why you have a coach. |
