Nothing do Uyo but once Ambode finishes all the renovation of national stadium, we go request for the team to play in Lagos.

So, what is the purpose of building the stadium in Abuja?

Waste of money.

Who tell you say Lagos no still get football culture?
They should stop that booing thing. Na old method be that. Like when some parents insult and yab their children to motivate them aka reverse psychology. Motivation, praise and passion for the team works better.

Then you shouldn't say what you don't know because you never experienced the atmosphere.

They don't throw pure water always neither do they boo always. They do those things when necessary. Especially when they notice the players or coaches are not committed to the game.

It is a disgusting attitude. People should learn to look and not touch. Why should fans throw pure water? do people come to ur job and throw things at u when u are not performing optimally?

I do not have to be in the Stadium to see missiles being thrown at players or hear the boos of fans.

Impatience was common in Lagos. Once the team is struggling, the boos start. Especially when the opponent scores us.

Na lie you lie because I watched football at the National stadium steadily. Especially when we hosted major competitions.

I watched all our matches during the 2000 nations cup at the National stadium save the finals because of..... grin

There was no time the players where booed nor stoned because their games were entertaining. grin

If you play boring game you should expect to be booed.

However, I only witnessed booing and throwing of pure water when the U23 were thrashed by Togo in our last friendlies before the Olympics in 1996. grin

You no know wetin dey happen. grin

The point is too easy to comprehend. Potentials to start in each role. Simple.

A guaranteed spot in the team? We are talking Russia now. That too has to be justified.
komekn:

Your club performance should translate to justification for SE call up, all things being equal. Add to that the quality of the league and the team you play for.

Otherwise we will have players relying on past performances and glories.

Nigeria '99, after Nigeria drew with Costa Rica in Lagos, the Lagosian fans pelted the players with stones. It caused a security situation where players could not leave because of the violent actions of the Lagosian fans.

Armed personnel had to disperse the crowd to take our players out of the stadium.

It's a play on words, you can't earn the right to be foolish. I am not talking of religious or societal morality.

But it makes a lot more sense the reckless exuberance if you have actually achieved something. Not when you have done nothing and can't even make the bench most times.

Second aspect to this You still don't get it. MUD STICKS. Bringing the club or game into disrepute clause is very grey and ambiguous but can be used to cancel your contract.

There is a former African international not Yobo or Yak. Who was getting too close to an Oloshi babe in a major city in the North of England.

Cut the story short she accused him of rape. When he considered the cost of litigation and the initial damage to his reputation. He settled out of court paying the cut throat gold digging Oloshi babe over £100k. she signed a non- disclosure and nobody ever heard about it, it was never published but it happened.

That's why I said mud sticks, being charged is not the issue. Just being accused is bad enough. He is walking on a tight rope.

We are talking about prostitutes running their mouth to the sun of all newspapers. It is clear that things are not adding up but before things clear up I am willing to say it is not even a big deal. He was de-arrested so the police obviously believes he is innocent

Lagos is great when Nigeria is playing well but if we are playing rubbish. Lagos can be a difficult place to play. They can start supporting the away team, giving them more confidence.

So because Machin does not want to give Kayode a credible run, he should not go to the World Cup. However, when Kayode was banging goals in Austria, he deserves a spot.

You can see that the criteria is no more on the quality of the player but favor of coaches.

How you wan take tempt me with Joel Obi na, when you know say I no go close eyes before I chose am? grin

I will choose Joel Obi because he playing in one of the best leagues in the world and because of his experience as a midfielder.

Nevertheless, I will like to see Onomah, Abdul Ajagun and Sone Aluko given the chance to prove themselves. grin
my question is how many players are we going to give chance within this short period, we are expecting about 5 friendlies before the final build up, what if these players u guys clamouring for performed so well during some of the friends like Ogbechi did,n flops during the WC cup proper.
for me,most of these new players should only b given a chance after d WC. We still have AFCON for them to play.

Throwback to that lwobi's goal...l must say that's what you call a team goal, and lwobi like most Arsenal players functions more effectively as a team player.
There were 13passes leading to the goal, great team work from the lads.
it was actually 15 passes,i counted it several times, one of my best goal in terms of team play

Westerhoff added Mike Emenalo, Chidi Nwanu and dropped Nduka Ugbade and Isaac Semitoje, just two players.

It's normal for Lagosians to make such requests. Who no go like the match to take place for e backyard?
But don't cry foul if it doesn't happen. It's very normal for national teams to have a home stadium. For now, and maybe in a long time to come, it will remain in Uyo.

I will repeat precisely the same point. A player can be quality and not get a chance in a club. Look at Victor Moses who could not cut it for years. Today he is one of the best in the EPL.

Simple, select a large pool, do a thorough screening and select the best.

Kayode is a good example that club performance is not a guarantee of quality. Some Players have bad seasons and then perform well in the World Cup and vice versa.

Del Piero was the highest goal scorer in the Champions League, breaking the scoring record in 97/98 season. Went to France 98 World Cup and did not score one goal in the World Cup.

The best bet to get an unsentimental selection is to screen a pool of potentials and select the best.

I disagree with your view on Victor Moses.

He was playing first team football for Palace at about 16/17 was doing great before bring sold to Wigan then after a reasonablly good season went to Chelsea.

And all the various loan moves. He just under Conte flourished in a new position in top class winning team.

I agree about club politics and other issues. In my opinion Danny Shittu is one of our best CB but he was left to rot at Bolton.

There are exceptions and sometimes some players cannot transfer club form to national team vice versa too. It happens that's why you have a coach.
