B. Is the most correct option. Fertilization is the fusion of the nucleus of the sex gametes of males and females. From the law of independent assortment , the genes(x & y) for sex determination will segregate into just one gametes, and note that the spermatozoa in males has both X and Y genes in their gametes, whilst the female's ova had just one gene(x). During ejaculation the male releases both x and y gametes, in an almost equal proportion into the vagina of a female. During this process , the spermatozoa(X or Y) travels towards the fallopian tube where an ova(x) would be waiting. At this point fertilization would then take place forming either a male(XY) or female(XX). This process therefore determines the sex of an individual

Conception is the act of implanting the blastocytes in the uterine after fertilization in the fallopian tube. This occurs after fertilization, and therefore ruled out.

Meiosis is just defining a process of dividing the diploid number of a chromosome into an haploid number. This occurs to the sex cells . This is ruled out

Birth also called parturition period occurs after fertilization. This is also ruled out
.
Bravo! Mr Wrose, you are clinically correct. Another question soon.

B....Can you please share it I'll pay you...

Bravo! Mr Wrose, you are clinically correct. Another question soon.

I might be wrong, but I believe the answer should be conception. Sex determination actually occurs after fertilization.

After the sperm cell hits the egg (fertilization), cell divison and diffrentiation takes place for two weeks before the sex is actually determined. Ofcourse, the determination is a consequence of ferterlization ( X or Y), but the stage in which it occurs is conception.

Conception being the act of implanting blastocytes in the fallopian tube is actually a new definition by American Pro-abortion scholars and is not generally accepted.

My text books and my biology teacher tell me its conception. I'd welcome superior arguments though...

Semi-final tips.

This composition is for Science student but Arts and Commercial can take one or two things from it.

Some people still haven't come to grip with themselves UI won't allow calculators. You better come to terms with that.

I believe anyone who wants to write UI post-UTME next week should be done reading by now. Cause there is virtually nothing to read again.

This week is a revision week, and should be expended on time management. It's a mock week as well, if we all still remember what 'mock exam' is.

Physics for many is very hard while for others, it is cheapay.

Yea.

-Just do the subject you know very well first,
-Or the one that would be easy for you,
-And won't take much of your time,
-At least 30 to 45 seconds on 1 question,
-Skip the one you don't understand or grab what the question is talking about easily from/at first read,
-Move to the next, once you read a question, You'll be able to know whether it is simple and you can answer it,
-If otherwise, move to the next question in no time.
-When done with those you are sure of, go back to the ones you left undone, and start turning your head over those ones.
-Try as much as possible to attempt all questions or subject.
-If you waste time on Maths alone or Physics and leave Chemistry and English undone, you've virtually failed, (this is not a fact, so don't quote me anywhere).
-So you have just 1week left to time yourself 30 seconds per question, know which one you can answer easily from this week.
-If Use-of-english won't take more than 15minutes or less to answer the 25 questions,
-Then, how many can you take in answering 25 Chemistry questions? 15minutes too or less?
-Then if you are able to use just 30minutes on 50 English and Chemistry questions, You have 1hr for physics and Maths. And Count that 1hr as just 45minutes.

If you're going to use real time (wall-clock, wristwatch) to test your readiness. Give yourself 45minutes for 100 questions. But if Stopwatch, 1hr. University of Ibadan's time is like stopwatch. Even some guru's would finish before exhausting the time given. So be sincere with your timing at home this week and you'll be happy at the end you did.

For my bosses who all have been bombarding one another with questions on here, it's time to make use of your Cue-dependent memory or Recall. You must be able to recall that argument you had with someone here on a particular question or what correction Rursh pointed out or what EngrBello said to be the perfect answer to 'Chem157' question. You've scored yourself cheap marks if you happen to come across such question on D-day.

Final tips in one week's time.

My email is still adefemi.george@yahoo.com for personal questions, while UI helpdesk or admission office numbers for anything relating to school and registration Ui.edu.ng

Bye for now.

Ui don't use remita its etransact rather. the sanapay platform to me has proved to be very effective and better compare to last year's platforms which was trailed by lot of payment problem. I don't know why you prefer going to pay in bank when you can do same with card online at the comfort of ur home if one card is not working try another one I happen to work in a biZ center and av reg for more than five candidates using stanbic master card for payment.
