sellydion:U think so, ok one more test case tomorrow morning will do. If ten minutes into trading ie 10:25am and diamond bank is not down 5% or 10%, then i can bet that todays offer was exaggerated and faked. QED. |

For the second week in a row, someone has been mopping shares of Diamond bank. Whether its MM or not, I no know. But I kw that the stock has only 1.2billion shares floating and is therefore capable of fast movement(up or down) If they release a good result, this stock will certainly move. If not it will fall. For the past 2yrs or more, they have taken serious impairments in q3 after posting good results in q2, thus leading to less impressive q3s. One wonders if same thing will happen this year. From the foregoing, it becomes clear that amount of impairments taken, ultimately determines performance and price appreciation. Bearing in mind that amount of impairment is relatively up to management, it therefore gives them serious and unfair advantage. Even though I do not believe in the so called (closed period) It is my humble opinion that closed periods should be made to start a month before the end of the quarter or in the alternative, banks wishing to take impairments at the end of each quarter should be made to disclose the amount to be taken, this would create a level playing ground and enable investors take informed decisions. 1 Like |

Does anybody have contact details (email and phone numbers) for Pace Registrars the registrars for Continental Reinsurance? The email listed on their e-dividend form is not functional and calls put through to their listed phone numbers do not get picked up. |

FSDH RESEARCH: Ø The recent positive developments in the Nigerian economy and the financial markets indicate that the equity market should record another rally in Q4 2017. Ø The Nigerian equity market as measured by The Nigerian Stock Exchange All Share Index (NSE ASI) appreciated by 7.01% in Q3 2017, the strongest Q3 performance in the last four years. Ø The stable macroeconomic environment was the major driver of the positive performance in the equity market and we expect this to continue in Q4 2017. Ø The FSDH Research’s historical analysis shows that there is a strong correlation between the movement in crude oil price and the Nigerian equity market. Ø We expect a continued boost to the external reserves in the short-to-medium term as oil price and production continue to strengthen. This is positive for the equity market. Ø Additionally, the introduction of the Investors’ and Exporters’ Foreign Exchange (FX) Window (I&E Window) has increased the supply of foreign exchange into the Nigerian economy and led to relative stability in the FX market. The I&E Window has also attracted more foreign investments into Nigeria. Ø FSDH Research’s analysis of the capital importation data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) between January and July 2017 shows that there was a growth in capital importation in 2017, compared with 2016. Ø We expect continued foreign inflow into the equity market as the FX market remains stable. This improved liquidity will boost the expected rally in the equity market. Ø The drop in the yields on the fixed income securities should lead to portfolio realignments in favour of the equity market to take advantage of higher returns. Ø A review of the latest Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) report that the CBN published for the month of September 2017 shows that economic activities in the manufacturing and non-manufacturing sectors continue to strengthen. Ø FSDH Research forecasts for the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Q3 and Q4 2017 show that the GDP should grow in excess of 2%. Ø We expect the equity market to respond positively to the strong Q3 2017 GDP figures that the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) will release on 22 November 2017. |
