He scored from outside the box in the dead rubber match we played against Tanzania September last year for Afcon qualifiers which was Rohr 's first match and the goal won CNN match of the week.
okay. Thanks

I. Awaziem is 3rd choice but he is very green. Omeruo can be decent on his day but does not always inspire confidence. I think both players can do the job but i 'd like to see us chase Felix Udoukhai. That boy has been outstanding in the bundesliga, also a green horn but it is only a matter of time before Germany come calling. He is that good.

2. Elderson has sometimes been unfairly targeted but it is obvious that the Zambian team saw his wing as the weak point. He needs to be replaced. Ola Aina can certainly do a great job there. No one is displacing Shehu at RB, he has been world class. Needs to move out of cyprus.

3. Ighalo can blow hot and cold. Dessers is an exciting option to me. He has declared for Nigeria so why not? If Tammy is willing, he should also be invited.

1, Add Ojokolo and Tiago Ilori (he is more experienced)

2, After monitoring Elderson against Zambia, I noticed he is very experienced at defending but poor offensively. My suggestion is that he makes the team but not as a starter. He should be brought in when we are defending a lead. I recommend Ojokolo and Uduokhai because they are both left footed.

3, We have to wait until after January before we decide on which striker is good enough because anything can happen. Although, Dessers should be considered but based on the performances of players doing well in a better league than him which is the Belgian League, he should not be considered ahead of these players. Dennis Bonaventure, Peter Olayinka and Taiwo Awoniyi are ahead of him now. There's possibility that Osimhen, Sadiq, Kayode and Dominic Solanke could do well in one of the best leagues in Europe in January or after. So, my point is that we keep our fingers crossed and wait until January though we can inviting some of these lads to see if they can fit into the team. This is why I respect Germany because they give all players doing well chances to show their worth.

Keep in mind when Agu got his role in the script right, Balogun excelled. Just like I pointed out during the crucifixion of Awaziem that poor cover from the full backs and defensive midfielders can make a good defender seem poor.

I am glad that Rohr notices it too and I agree that Mikel Agu is learning the role. The second half showed it.

I think that is why I did not even notice Balogun being poor in that first half. I was watching the positioning of the midfielders.

I wish. I really wish Onazi does it. He would have been as big as Ngolo Kante or even bigger. But, he is interested in the forward play too much. Just as the position he was when he got injured.

What role did Onazi played against Zambia?

Reports were that Iwobi was scoring in training for the match. Rohr just wanted to stick to the team that beat Cameroun.

That's what Ighalo needs. Someone to talk him to goals. Words can work magic. All spells, magic, incantations, are nothing without words. All creative stimulus begin with words.

Dessers is clearly ahead of all of those players

7 goals in 13 games this year already
29 goals last year.

He should have just shoot with his left leg cos he had ample space. He was even cutting to the right where the defender was coming from. If he had shot with his left leg perhaps on the rebound either Moses or Iwobi would have mopped it up into the net.

Did you notice Mikel and Iwobi combo that led to that goal.

You noticed also that Iwobi and Mikel switched opposition at certain point.

That is a killer combo.

Let Mikel play AM and Iwobi play from the wings and switching positions with Mikel and at other times with Moses. We saw that work against Zambia (ie Mikel and Iwobi switching positions).

Let's leave the Ndidi-Onazi combo the way it is for now.
That movement confused the Zambians. So much fluidity was concentrated on that left back with Mikel, Iwobi, Moses to Shehu back to Moses to Shehu and to Iwobi finally bringing down the Zambian wall of Jericho.

Yes Mikel and Iwobi is best. But the headache now is between Onazi and Ndidi. Sincerely I don't know which one to pick ahead of the other.

Dont let us deceive oursef,d players rohr called for cameroun and Zambia matches re our best legs we av

A club game and playing a competitive match for a national country are diff ball games entirely,dt is y u c most names mentioned by our scout teams here flops if given d chance.if u re not offering anything extraordinary, I dont c any reason to extend invitation to such a player, cos d brotherhood in d present team is strong,a unified average players will go far in a tournament Dan a team with much talent wout unity(Ghana average team is an example,S/A 2010),if not for Suarez handball,d team were already in semifinals

Maybe for Joel obi if fit den a new good left defender and a spare central defender + good 9 I.e if dey re able to convince d coach, but if not, we re gud to go

the oyinbo wall is still our best defensive pairing baring injuries i don't see anyone realistically taking either leon or ekong's place good coaching and decent protection should do them ok. for the future we watch how awaziem progresses and also try to snap another german born defender.

for the immediate future aina will play LB. echejiele will still be the LB back up going into the WC because of his experience but after the WC the search for another decent LB should be more rigorous.

yes the lack of a reliable striker other than kelechi is worrying but i still feel the likes of onyekuru and kayode have not been given a decent run in the team they might just be the solution. my take on tammy's matter is that we shouldn't foreclose all options regarding him. based on footballing reasons i'm yet to see anything in way of form but if by season's end he emerges as one of the best players in EPL after scoring loads of goals and says he wants to play for us i will gladly take him. we have made the first approach let's wait for him to reciprocate

Truly we are limited upfront ooo. When we meet a team with a more compact defence we will be exposed cos we don't shoot from outside the box, we don't score from free kicks, corners, headers. Of our eleven goals so far ten have come from within the box. Only Ighalo's goal was from outside. Look at Germany, France and Spain shooting goals from outside.

I believe it's coach doing it you check very well... Under keshi we do score outside box... But under Rohr... It's other way round... That's my own personal reason and I can also see we re working little by little on set piece like free kick and corners... Last time we had good set pieces was under oliseh...

In modern day football, Full backs over-lap a lot. So it is common sight seeing CBs covering for one LB or RB that overlapped out of position and could not recover quickly enough.

I think it is age related. Balogun is ageing.

defenders usually peak between 28-30 years which balogun falls into. God willing nigeria can still enjoy 2-4 years of good service from him. yes he made some mistakes especially in the first half against zambia but he later got back to his imperious best. i expect ekong, awaziem and any other young talented defender we discover between now and after the WC to observe and learn from him

IWOBI : I'D LOVE TO CONVINCE ABRAHAM TO MAKE NIGERIA SWITCH

October 10, 2017 3:26 pm

By Johnny Edward:

Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi is ready to convince Swansea City striker Tammy Abraham to pledge his allegiance to Nigeria, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Abraham has been courted by the Nigerian Football Federation to make a switch to the Super Eagles but the 19-year-old still representing England at the U-21 level is yet agree to the switch, even publicly rebutting his parent’s country of birth’s advances.

Iwobi who also made an international switch from England in 2015 admitted in an interview with Completesportsnigeria.com that he understands the difficulty Abraham may face in making a decision.

“Obviously it’s going to be difficult when you’re playing in your comfort zone, representing England,” Iwobi told Completesportsnigeria.com.

“Some of these players have been raised up in England and they play for England. So that’s all they know.

“If I get through to him I could talk to him but at the end of the day it’s not my decision; it’s for him to decide.

“However for me switching, and Ola Aina as well it’s been great. Nigerians are very welcoming and you will enjoy your time. Personally I’d advice Abraham and others to switch because they will enjoy their time playing for Nigeria.”

Iwobi came off the substitutes bench to score Nigeria’s only goal against Zambia on Saturday to secure a berth in next year’s FIFA World Cup in Russia.

i seriously love your list.

for GK i would have taken alampasu for the learning experience but rohr would probably go for akpeyi instead.

for defence realistically omit the german guys and we are good to go.

midfield remove agu and nwakali and we are set.

attack still abit fluid baring any unforeseen circumstance KC, ighalo, iwobi, and the two moses are going. the remaining spot we leave to best in form

God willing nigeria can still enjoy 2-4 years of good service from him. yes he made some mistakes especially in the first half against zambia but he later got back to his imperious best. i expect ekong, awaziem and any other young talented defender we discover between now and after the WC to observe and learn from him

That is world average.

Balogun at 29+ you know wasn't born in Nigeria (you know what I mean) may be at his peak.

But Other defenders like Ambrose, Echiejile, Obaobona, Omeruo, Egweke, who are even younger (officially) have long past their peak.

But I am sure you agree Balogun's lack of pace was really exposed in that game. I am not one of the Eagles physios but I can tell you it could be age related.
Defenders typically slow down as they age but that doesn't mean they declining. Experience and positional ability can make of for loss of pace. It is normal.

Osimhen Set For January Loan Move, Eyes Eagles World Cup Spot

Peter Oriaku

By Johnny Edward:

Wolfsburg’s Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen could go out on loan in January in search of first team football, Completesportsnigeria.com has reliably gathered.

Osimhen lasted only six minutes in his only appearance this season in the German Bundesliga for Wolfsburg but has been a regular in test games.

A source close to the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup top scorer revealed to Completesportsnigeria.com that Osimhen’s intermediaries are weighing the best option for him ahead of the next transfer window.

“Nobody loves beingon the bench but in his (Victor Osimhen) case he needs to play regularly to improve and stand a chance of fighting for a place in the Super Eagles,” the source told Completesportsnigeria.com.

Victor Osimhen, 19, has been invited to the Super Eagles but was not involved in the World Cup qualifiers. He will hope to get a spot in the squad for the Russia 2018 World Cup which they qualified for on Saturday.
Wolfsburg are 12th in the Bundesliga table with seven points from seven games. The Wolfs will face Bayer Leverkusen this Sunday.
