sinizia: If you're good, you're good. If Rashford was merely lucky to get a break, how come he's still in the first 11 now especially when he's competing with Martial, Lukaku, Mhkitaryan and Mata for a place in the front 4. He wasn't Lucky to get his chance. He wasn't Lucky to score in every single debut from FA Cup, to EPL, to Europa to UCL, to England. He wasn't Lucky to keep his place despite competing with almost 300m of talent for a place in the starting line-up. Nah luck had nothing to do with it. He may have been unknown to you, but he wasn't unknown to the coaches that suggested him to LVG. They don't just pick any fool from the academy and give him jersey and a seat on the team bus. That's not thr way it works. It reminds of something Gary Lineker said. He said that many times he would score and the commentator would say "right place at the right time". Gary said nah nigga, I made that run a 100 times already in that game, I wasn't at the right place at the right time - it wasn't luck. I kept running to the right position because I knew sooner or later the chance would come...and I would take my chance. You just didn't know his name, but trust me Rashford was ready for this. He's always been ready. And he for a talent like that, there is no way your time won't come... 3 Likes |

airmark: Him mouthing off is just irritating.... especially when you have a coach like conte who can decide he doesn't want you anymore, and nothing will happen as in the case of crasy Diego Costa. Burr, when you have people like Courtois and hazard as possible advisers what do you expect to see? |

Ibime:Maybe. Coz me including many other United fans probably never knew who he was before that game against Kuvukiland. Fate just smiled on him that day that Martial got injured in the warm up before the game. Rashford was said to be the 8th choice striker at the start of the season when he made his debut. Luck fell on him in that Will Keane and James Wilson were either injured or out on short-term loans, plus other youth strikers were injured.Anyways, asides Martial's injury, luck has nothing to do with Rashford. He was given a chance and he took it. U dont go from scoring a brace against farmers from kuvukiland to scoring another brace plus an assist against Arsenal in 4 days based on luck. If them Will Keane and James Wilson were that good for the reserves team as u say they were, both wont ve been loaned out that season. And they would ve played ahead of Rashford in that Kuvukiland game and Rashford would probably still be an unknown today. I dont see what Will Keane has ever done at United. But arguments can still be made for Wilson. But since his brace against Hull City is his league debut, we've not seen him since. And his loan spells ve not been impressive. Luck has very little to do with anything here. Rashford is pure talent. Simples! 2 Likes |

I still dey wait to see the minutes Musonda has gotten this season. I'll bet my balls that Charly hasn't spent up to 5 minutes in a league fixture this season. The last time he got the nod to start a game for us, he found the net. So which one be say, 'He has been giving opportunities yet he no shine'? Are we looking at a possible brace within 1 minute on the pitch? PES 2018? 3 Likes |

diggz:Egbon diggz this one is not about posting wikipedia achievements. Rashford was given a chance and he took it. Musonda too ll ve his. We are still like 10 games(all competitions) into the season and he(Musonda) already has had a few minutes in the league. And he played the full 90mins in the cara-whatever cup. But no matter how much u people dislike Willian, the manager can not just overlook Willian and play Musonda in a big game like the City game, especially with Morata's unexpected injury spoiling whatever plans or tactics he must ve had for the game. |

Griffon: We've had a tough start to the league this year. There's not a single one our league fixtures so far where I would have even considered him starting. He has had a chance against a mid table championship side and he scored. Good. Why not wait for your next chance before you start mouthing off? The likes of Batman, Drinkwater, Bakayoko and Zappacosta(Best 2 in the world) still dey hustle for shirt without public rants. He's the one who prompted the whole comparison. If he's going to run his mouth, then we go gats ask am wetin he do with his talents like he lived in the new testament... 4 Likes |

Nihilist: I am not in support of him mouthing off on social media, that is wrong, this is Chelsea not Spurs or Everton who'd easily trade their chances of lifting a silverware with youth integration. That said, I think we have seen enough potentials and flashes of greatness from this boy which suggests he is a good player. What's wrong in giving him a chance ahead of a misfiring Willian? I wont be on this debate if Willie is still Willie but man seems to have lost it. |

Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by Griffon: 3:53pm On Oct 10, 2017 |
Schedule shouldn't determine if a young prospect should get the nod or not, it's the manager's conviction on the player's abilities. If it's about fixtures, Rashford should not have been handed that rare start against Arsenal. Many young prospects have all launched their careers with the big games. This isn't about the fixtures abeg, this is about Conte believing Musonda. He is the manager and is in the better position to say if the Congolese is ready to dispatch Willie. So make we just drop the talk abegi. Wetin be Kante injury status? 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Nihilist: Mate, there's no human with a working brain, even one with the strongest type of prejudice will say the emboldened. I never implied implicitly or explicitly the emboldened words. What Rashford has achieved so far is not on luck, but his first chance, his first big break was on luck. I don't see why this an argument. Rashford WASN'T EVEN OUR 4TH CHOICE STRIKER that season. When coaches usually give chances to fringe or youth players, it always come in Carling Cup and pre-seasons, Rashford was not in the squad in both occasions. If he managed to make one or two of those squads, he didn't get a sniff at a playing time. Rashford got his FIRST chance as a reserve player in Yorupa league. I don't think you understand the condition here. This wasn't a dead rubber match where we needed fringe players or reserves. This was a KNOCK-OUT match where our progression was at risk and an unknown RESERVE player was chosen ahead of 4 striker AHEAD OF HIM? C'mon Nihilist!! You mean Rashford was so talented and good he BENCHED 4 FIT strikers to start such a game? Without INJURIES and loan to our strikers, Rashford would never have started that match. I mean, he wasn't even brought in as would normally be done when giving a reserve a chance, he started the match. If you think Rashford wasn't lucky that injuries affected our strike force, then let's forget it. We would never agree with each other. 13 Likes 3 Shares |

sinizia: It can't be luck mate. The manager saw reasons to give him that starting berth. He wasn't under the influence of an enchantment, his decision was borne out of what he saw in the training ground. |

Nihilist: How will he do anything on the big boys pitch when he doesnt even get on the big boys pitch? This season he has gotten 8mins in community shield 90mins in EFL cup and scored 1 goal How is this different from the argument of guys claiming Lukaku didnt do anything with the 2mins injury time substitution he was getting under Mourinho 5 Likes |
