This is not a Kaduna issue alone. Sometimes during Agagu's regime in Ondo State, he organized something similar for science teachers. A Physics teacher did not know the formula speed. Over 70% of them could not make it. But they didn't make it a media issue. Why did you think the teachers in Ekiti State refused to undertake similar test under Fayemi? Have you all forgot the teacher in Edo during Oshiomole's time that went viral during his interview?

If 80% percent of the people here cannot, it would be somewhat understandable and I wouldn't care because they are not responsible for my kids education.

But, if 80% of people here have taught primary 4 pupils for years and cannot handle those questions, therein lies a monumental problem.

The government should find a way to fix them in non teaching areas instead of sacking ,cos the adverse effect of sacking that number of people given that some of those individuals are bread winners in thier respective family will be disastrous to the Society at large...

Most of these people were not employed based on merit or competence but through connections! Or another means of making money because they deduct a certain percentage from their salaries on monthly basis.

If you recall some around 2014 or so, Edo state govnor then, Adams Oshiomhole conducted same and personally discovered woeful teachers in the service.
His attempts to clean the mess resulted in the NUT influenced by useless PDP gangsters in Edo, went on strike to frustrate the govt.
I don't know how it all ended. That's what you 'll see.
The opposition will always want to score cheap political goals by "sentimentizing" the whole thing and the system remains.

Failures of this scope and magnitude will continue to prevail in our society until we embrace the actual face value of individuals as it is done in other climes. until will refuse to place our bearing on mere certificates and face the real face value of individuals we cannot but continue to fail.

People should be tested vide thorough examinations with or without formal certificates in respective capacities to be able to ascertain their fitness for engagements. Though, the place of certificates is still very vital but immerse screening ought to be done. It is better to employ a man who can do the job better without a certificate than to employ those with certificates, who cannot get the job done.
