but dessers performance in the Dutch league...this far enclipse awoniyi performance when he was in the Dutch league too...

so far so good....dessers goal has out numbered taiwo's goal when he was in holland

We are not only comparing Dessers with Awoniyi, We are comparing Dessers with Peter Olayinka and Denis Bornadventure also.

Now, you said Dessers performance in the Dutch league Eclipse Awoniyi when he was in the Dutch league too, right? I agree but Awoniyi's performance in just a quarter season in the Belgium pro league this far enclipse the whole of Dessers' performance when he was in the Belgium pro league for 3 seasons. grin

Remember, the Belgium pro league in the top 10 leagues in Europe while the Dutch league is not. grin

Exclusive Interview – New Wolfsburg Signing Uduokhai Picks Germany Ahead Of Nigeria
July 1, 20170573

Highly rated 1860 Munich 19 year old German-Nigerian defender Ohis Felix Uduokhai says his dream is to play for the senior national team of Germany.

Rumoured to as one of the players coach of the Nigeria senior national team Gernot Rohr is eyeing for a call up to the Nigeria team in the future, Uduokhai has revealed his intentions to progress through the youth ranks with Germany.

Already he has represented Germany at U19 and 20 levels and according to the centre back, he is focused on playing for the senior team in the future.

He made this known during an interview with Deutscher fussball-Bund picked up by Owngoalnigeria.com online editor.

DFB.de: The sporting success of the main character seems to be something that you and your team share. How are you feeling about how you have started the new year?

Uduokhai: We are of course very pleased to have started off with a win against Fürth. You never know how quickly you will get going after a time away and the result was positive for us.

DONT MISS ==> Vincent Enyeama Retirement Date Draws Near As Lille Line Up Replacement
DFB.de: New head coach Victor Pereira has installed a three-man defensive system. How are you adapting to the new setup?

Uduokhai: Even though we occasionally played with three or five at the back before the winter break, a new coach obviously brings new ideas. The first game of that is never easy and we worked very hard for it, and hopefully we will improve the smaller details as we continue.

DFB.de: So far you have played for both the U19 and U20 national teams. Do you see yourself featuring for the senior team?

Uduokhai: I am delighted with every call-up to the youth sides. It is a real honour for me. Every kid dreams of one day playing for the national team and it is an ambition I share.

DFB.de: Why do you wear the shirt number 17?

Uduokhair: I was looking for a number and it was free! Jerome Boateng wearing 17 had no bearing on my picking it. Despite that, I of course want to follow in the footsteps of the best defenders in the world and Boateng is excellent at opening up the play from deep, as is Ramos and before them Puyol. With them I see how much I can still learn.

DONT MISS ==> Why Wenger Omitted Iwobi From His Official List For UEFA Champions League
DFB.de: Now, onto the DFB Cup. This competition must have quite the special significance for you?

Uduokhair: The game against Würzburg Kickers was my first in the starting eleven, which brought a lot of emotions together. The anticipation before the game, the game itself, the shootout, scoring my own kick and the team winning – I have nothing but positive memories of the DFB Cup.

RUSSIANS HAIL NIGERIA FOR WC QUALIFICATION DESPITE CHANGING THREE COACHES
Published: October 11, 2017

The Russian media has profiled the 22 teams guaranteed to participate at next summer's World Cup in Russia, and the fact that the Nigeria Football Federation changed three coaches during the qualifiers was highlighted.
For the CAF second round of 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification, former Super Eagles captain Sunday Oliseh was in the dugout when the national team beat Swaziland over two legs in November 2015.
Oliseh later resigned his appointment in February 2016, citing unfulfilled contractual obligations, and Samson Siasia took over from the former Ajax Amsterdam midfielder on an interim basis.
In the third round of the qualifiers, the Nigerian Federation went for an expatriate coach in Gernot Rohr and the German delivered the World Cup ticket with a game to spare.
''During the qualifying period for the national team of Nigeria, three coaches changed, but this did not affect the result in any way,'' wrote championat.com.
''Nigerians were the first in the African group, who secured the right to play at the World Cup in Russia.''

Israeli club Bnei Sakhnin to make Akpan Udoh world No 1, hire personal trainer for U17 world champion

Akpan Udoh when he won the 2015 U17 World Cup with Nigeria

SCORENigeria can exclusively reveal Israeli club Bnei Saknin plan to make Golden Eaglets U17 world champion Akpan Udoh the best young goalkeeper in the world and afterwards sell him to a top club in England or Spain.

And as result this, they will specially hired a personal goalkeeper trainer for the youngster from the Remo Academy owned by Mr Femi.

Udoh, who has also represented Nigeria at U20 level, has already arrived Israel and he is now expected to agree a loan deal after which he will sign a three-year contract with the Israeli club.

Udoh’s agent, David Ouziel, told SCORENigeria:”Bnei Sakhnin want him to be the best goalkeeper in the world in his age-grade and thereafter sell him to a big club in England or Spain.

“The club have already done a most amazing thing – they have got a personal goalkeeper trainer to work only with him for the next full season.

“No club in Israel has done this before.”

The young goalkeeper was scouted by Manna Abba Nasir ‘Sergio’ from the Remo Academy owned by Mr Femi, who has been working with the player since he was only 8.

However, he could only take up a pro deal in Israel after he clocked 18 years on July 18.

Hi Terz. GoodJoe joined us. I believe he would write about his experience shortly. There are about ten to fifteen people on this remarkable thread that are very brilliant people and have ENORMOUS amount of knowledge about our football that we all need. What is needed now is to consolidate on it, get the required impetus and momentum. That is what this is all about. You, GoodJoe, Icons, Bluto, Kog%, Komekn, Naptu2 are some of these people. That isn't any exhaustive list in any way.

Somehow, we have managed to get GoodJoe and Lazyerudite - and they can speak about this initiative.

If you believe in Nigeria and see her Sports and especially her Football as a possible economic tool for social reorganisation and revampment; you have energy, mental capacity and willpower to commit yourself to same, then you should send a whatsapp message to 0.8.1.5.6.1.3.3.7.9.0. All you need to say is your Nairaland name.

Your contribution to the subject of Nigerian football and the depth and content of same that you have exhibited on Nairaland would be used to determine your invitation. It is a closed elitist forum that really needs all the input from as many purpose-driven and vibrant young Nigerian patriots that we can get.

P.S: I really sent you a mail Terz, like I sent TheGooodJoe, which got us talking. However, if you send a simple whatsapp message containing your NL name alone, you would receive a phone call and we can take it from there. I would send you another NL mail rightaway though.
I sent you a reply.

SHEHU ABDULLAHI WANTS
ADEQUATE PREPARATIONS FOR
2018 WORLD CUP

The defender says a good build up to Russia
2018 will guarantee Super Eagles a good
outing in Russia.

Anorthosis Famagusta's Shehu Abdullahi says
the Super Eagles must prepare adequately
for the 2018 World Cup if they hope to go far
in the competition.

The Eagles defeated the Chipolopolo of
Zambia 1-0 courtesy Alex Iwobi's strike. And
Abdullahi who was named man of the match
expressed his delight being a part of the
team and opines that a good preparation will
help Gernor Rohr's men in Russia.

“It is always every player’s joy to go to the
World Cup and it was the reason we were
very happy at the end of the game," he told
Goal.

"We celebrated wildly in the dressing room
but we need to also focus on having a good
World Cup next year.

“It was crucial that we got the World Cup
ticket before the final game because it will
take our minds off pressure.

“We will go to Algeria with a relaxed mind,
but we must still do our best as
professionals to ensure that we preserve our
unbeaten record.

"It won’t be easy in Algeria because they will
like to come all out to prove doubters wrong
that they are still a good side despite their
disappointing World Cup qualification
campaign."

I understand your sentiments but it's not begging. Just put yourself in the shoes of this guys and then perhaps you'd understand how difficult, how fraught with challenges these issues are. If not for Iwobi's Dad telling his son that both of them should visit Nigeria and see for themselves the young man might not be playing for us today. Not many have fathers who can go that length. We can give this youngsters better opportunities than Germany or England. I bet that for all of England's gra gra if they had gotten Iwobi he would have been chopping bench.

i hope CAF can help out the African teams who qualify for the world cup by postponing their games in march to enable them prepare adequately for the world cup by playing top grade A friendlies. since FIFA has said a country cannot play back to back matches in 2 different confederations it's unlikely that a team like nigeria would be able to play a good friendly. one might argue that playing a competitive AFCON qualifier would help keep your players in shape but in reality it doesn't benefit a team like nigeria facing african opposition so close to the mundial. after the world cup the AFCON game can easily be rescheduled. unless FIFA relaxes their rule about where you can play your friendlies going into the world cup i think it's something CAF should consider so that african teams can represent well at russia

Eagles star Elderson out for 4 weeks, to miss World Cup qualifier in Algeria

By admin -
October 11, 2017, 12:06 pm

Nigeria defender Elderson Echejile will be out for at least four weeks after he suffered a muscle injury during the country’s home win over Zambia at the weekend and as such he will miss next month’s World Cup qualifier in Algeria.

Turkey-based Elderson was forced out of the Zambia game in Uyo after 79 minutes because of the injury and was replaced by Ola Aina.

“Already we know that Elderson Echiejile is ruled out of the game because he is out for about four weeks due to the injury he sustained,” Rohr told SCORENigeria

It will be a chance to try a new player for the Eagles leftback position as Elderson has played the role all through the country’s qualifying campaign.

Another muscle injury kept him out of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

England U21 Ace Tammy
Abraham Once Again
Suggest His Interest In
Playing For Nigeria

England U21 forward Tammy Abraham has
dropped another hint as regards his interest in
switching allegiance to Nigeria who are through
to the World Cup.

Two weeks ago the 19 year old denied any talks
about a switch of allegiance, but two days ago
he confirm talks are ongoing with Nigeria shortly
after scoring for England U21 in their 3-1 win
over Scotland.

Abraham who has been ever present for the
U21s of England who are top of their Euro 2019
qualifying group liked and commented on a
video posted by Alex Iwobi on Instagram.
Iwobi posted a video of the winner he scored
against Zambia, which qualified Nigeria for the
World Cup in Russia and Abraham was among
those who liked the post.

He followed it up with a post which reads ” The
Greatest “, before recently capped Nigeria
senior international Ola Aina who also played for
England at various youth levels commented by
posting “My guy #BIG17 for president!!!”.

Already Iwobi has confirmed he will have a chat
with the forward to try and convince him to
switch allegiance to Nigeria just like himself and
Aina.. He however said the final decision is for
Abraham to decide.

Let's say it as it is. I only remember Ekong and Balogun showing interest before we approached.
Otigba, Alaba, Dessers, Torunarigha (but for his dad), Sennenger also belong to that class.
Iwobi and Aina would have "loved" to play for England. Granted they talked about playing for Nigeria as children. In both cases, invites stopped coming from England, and that factor contributed in us getting them to play for us.

Even Balogun said if Germany came for him it would have been hard to make a decision. And I've been saying this on this thread.. It's not a matter of patriotism at that stage but important difficult professional decision. It's not easy to turn down big countries for Nigeria outrightly. And some of us expect these boys to turn down other countries (when those countries are showing interest in them) for us at the preliminary stage.

Uduokhai's case is no different. If Germany shows seriousness it will be very difficult for us to get him.

those who liked the post.

He followed it up with a post which reads ” The

senior international Ola Aina who also played for
England at various youth levels commented by
posting “My guy #BIG17 for president!!!”.

Already Iwobi has confirmed he will have a chat
with the forward to try and convince him to
switch allegiance to Nigeria just like himself and
Aina.. He however said the final decision is for
Abraham to decide.

Eagles Newbie Ola Aina
Boast – Super Eagles Can
Beat England At Russia
2018 World Cup

Freshly capped Nigeria senior international
defender Ola Aina says Super Eagles are capable
of beating the Three Lions of England if both
teams meet at the World Cup next-door year in
Russia.

Aina who represented England at various youth
levels before switching allegiance to Nigeria made
his debut for Nigeria in the 1-0 win over Zambia
last weekend, which sealed their passage to next
year World Cup.

Presently out on loan to Hull City from English
Premier League champions Chelsea, the recently
turned 21 year old said Nigeria have players good
enough to beat any team in the world.

” The Super Eagles have the materials to beat any
team, I know that if we work hard, we can beat any
team at the World Cup, not just England. A team
that prepare well can beat any team if they work
hard. It’s not just Nigeria beating England “, he
said in an interview with Abuja based Nigerian
journalist Francis Achi.

” There is no hard feeling playing against England,
it’s just a game. They are my friends and I play
against my friends every week in England “, he
concluded.

He rounded up by praising the atmosphere in the
camp of the Super Eagles and also appreciated the
fans for their support during the course of the 1-0
win over Zambia.

Just put this question to them

Which council will you choose?... Nigeria calling you to be part of her government and United Nations calling you to be part of her governing council bear it in mind you have not been to Nigeria before.. All your life style is part of governing council of united nation... And you have heard alot of negative stories about Nigeria.. Which one will you choose?

Let us see their responses
