Well if we succeed in sandwiching the Algeria tie between two friendlies as was reported we can do much of our experimenting with the friendlies instead. Then maintain the core of the team as well as cap the "cappable" foreign-breds with the dead-rubber match. soetanoreoluwa: |

How do you mean extra miles? Have we made another approach on Tammy? I'm not aware of that. If we have, that would be "extra miles". Kog45: |

Agbo has been in the team. Let's see what he can do.. A realistic expectation will be Rohr giving Ogu, Agu and Agbo playing opportunities in the absence of Mikel and Ndidi. soetanoreoluwa: |

Rohr Set To Hand Full Debut To Chelsea Loanee Ola Aina Vs Algeria Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr has hinted that he will hand a full debut to Chelsea defender Ola Aina in November's World Cup qualifier against Algeria, with uncertainty surrounding the fitness of Sivasspor's Elderson Echiejile. The Monaco loanee suffered an ankle injury during the Super Eagles workout last Tuesday, and aggravated the same injury in the closing minutes of Nigeria's 1-0 win over Zambia on October 7. Speaking to reporters at the NFF secretariat in Abuja, Rohr stated that Echiejile faces four weeks on the sidelines, and might not be considered for the game with the North Africans. ''Already we know that Elderson Echiejile is ruled out of the game because he is out for about four weeks due to the injury he sustained, '' Rohr said, according to scorenigeria.com.ng. Ola Aina made his competitive debut for the Nigerian national team off the bench when he replaced Echiejile in the 79th minute against Zambia. The 21-year-old's preferred position is right back as he is right-footed. Igho Kingsley http://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=24974 1 Like |

tbaba1234:I don't just know why people are writing up and down just to defend Ighalo's abysmal performance as regards chances created for him in our last Woed Cup qualifying game against Zambia. Ighalo left a lot of space between him and the defender. Should have closed in on the gap. In TheGoodJoe'S words, he should have attacked the space. His anticipation for that ball was too poor. There was no better way for Simon Moses to have laid the pass. He should have closed in on the gap. He position was poor. Speed poor. Anticipation poor. Haba. Secondly, looking at the pass Victor Moses gave to him. I had expected him to be smart enough to hit the ball once but once again he allowed the Zambian defender to quickly close in on him. He had two good options to either hit the ball before the defender came calling or drag the ball into his left foot to finish off the job. Stop defending Ighalo. This kind of performance won't instill fear in the hearts of our opponent. Kelechi Iheanacho wouldn't have missed that goal due to his excellent level of anticipation, positionOMG and awareness in the 18 yard box. Go back and watch the replay of our match against Cameroon in Uyo. Onazi was on the ball and K Iheanacho attacked the space with high anticipation to receive the ball from Onazi. 5 Likes |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mujtahida: 3:43pm On Oct 11, 2017 |
soetanoreoluwa:Exactly!! Iwobi's Dad said Iwobi was a bit reluctant to come to Nigeria when he received call up from Nigeria but that he told the young man that they should travel to Nigeria to see for themselves cos of the negative things they had heard. I am not keen about foreign born players but about the best for the Eagles, however I do understand in a little way that such decisions are not easy to make. Goodjoe gave an analogy of a girl putting one guy on hold just to see if the one she has her eyes on would marry her. But that's a very imperfect analogy so long as he failed to factor in the fact that the young woman being courted by two guys- with one she has no relationship with other than they are from the same ethnic group, the other guy, though not from her ethnic group, is one with whom she has a relationship, she grew up with him, he played with her, she's emotionally attached to him, he's taught her lots of things, made available for her good the resources he has, he's taken her out for several trainings and vacations. Meanwhile the other guy who is now just coming is one whom she's heard has craw-craw, is very disorganised, loves being crooked etc. The goodjoe would you have your daughter marry the journey just come guy while the other guy is still courting her? And I'm not talking about your decision going one way or the other but the ease or difficulty in making the decision. I repeat, such decisions are not easy. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Thank You!!! Modified Let me add that the fact is we are a fall back option (when the preferred guy stops showing interest the girl starts considering the craw-craw guy to see if those bad stories about him are true.) It's just the bitter truth. We need to say it as it is.. until we fix how we do things in this country. Mujtahida: 1 Like |

Oga, Victor Moses's importance/role in that team is crystal clear for anyone who watches even one of our matches. Rohr is just saying the obvious. I like Rohr's spirit. He knows we have to even improve to do well in Russia. I'm am totally confident in Rohr. AIG07: 2 Likes |
