Pls friends I have a challenge with my Honda car baby boy 1999 recently I observed that it doesn't move when I shift the gear to D or R or any other side if the gear the car will remain without response to movement,
I don't want mechanic to take advantage so I need foreknowledge of what possibly went wrong thanks

Well, the flywheel myt come with the new gearbox tho'. If the flywheel is bad, then the car wnt move from the spot nd instead of buying another gearbox which wld be costly, I'll suggest u check the flywheel if dats d problem nd its gon be less expensive compared to the new gearbox.

Flywheel?! You did not even say torque converter. And also capping it with the flywheel coming with the gearbox.

This is a case of transmission non- engagment ,u can start by checking roughly for flow pressure.
Remove the hose that connect to the transmission cooler and check if there is any gush of atf flow pressure .Loss of pressure may indicate bad pump

Fellow nairlanders, thanks such for your various advises and suggestions...at list problem shared is half solve.. the car made a progress yesterday when I called someone he added oil and remove a sensor and clean...he said i top one more liter of gear oil, but recently is sluggish in movement it blinks D light and temperature rises

Whats the problem sire? Are you the one I spoke with over the weekend?

ok guys it has been observed that is shortage of gearbox oil, due to leakage, so each time it short the gear won't move or it over heat the gear, will visit a gear box repair to check it for me...any good one in abuja apo mech will be appreciated thanks for all your concern

NO part of this fix is free but scanning will ensure you get to the root of the problem and kazims wont take advantage

sure bro but say this point the GB is selecting fine just that oil Leaks from the nut send inner shaft side

1st thing first, do you now know the factory recommended oil for your gear Box/? use google
cos if you use the wrong oil and fry your GB,thats far worse than replacing ur Engine.

Bros,

The fact this gear had no serviceable filter (filter is inside the gear) and Honda's quest to achieve 'smooth' shifts was the perfect recipe for disaster for that gearbox. The only solution as it is now is for the gear be taken apart and valves cleaned/ filter replaced.

the other option is gear replacement.

The recommended Atf for your vehicle is genuine Honda DW1.
