Yes. You can get a work study program but you will be limited to 20 hours of work in a week which I'm sure it won't save up to your tuition.


As per your second question. I think there are several private loans you can subscribe to incase you couldn't pay up.

Reasons like this is why most schools will request you submit financial statement before offering you an admission

There is no point rushing, what is worth doing is worth doing well. If you are writting GRE next Jan/Feb, just plan towards fall 2019, dont waste your money. Most good schools would have closed their applications by then.

2. multiple copies of a transcript has different grades for the same course . lack of constituencies
3. when it looks fake or obviously tampered
4. perhaps a misunderstanding that can be addressed

Forget about this school and hope that your school doesn't send another bogus transcript to the next school on your list. And before requesting for another transcript, go and clarify this with them.

Spot on. I toyed with this idea. It was actually one of my plan Bs in case anything goes wrong. Then I realised how hard it is to find a cosigner despite having lots of relations here in the States. Then it dawned on me that once you get here, even if all your lineage is here, you are to a large extent OYO. But if you are a believing Christian, God will always be with you and He has been making a way for me. Well, that's a testimony for another day. Truth is, Lagosismyhome is very correct - that stuff needs a cosigner and getting one is harder than one would think/imagine. I kinda understand why though... everybody is over cautious, nobody wants even the scent of future wahala. Lol.

Do not fear, UNILAG is very efficient with this. Transcripts are never prepared unless there is a request; once your results are uploaded by CITS your transcripts can be prepared the next minute. I got mine within two months of completing my final exams, even before convocation.

Why does he need a co-signer for a house worth more than $200k? Probably on a 20-30years? Brother, I can help anyone, but I can’t cosign for anyone. This is not about trust or anything, it is about principle and staying out of drama. If it’s a car of 5-10k that’s easy to pay off. But you want a co-signer for a Car of 35-50k? One missed payment hurts your credit as well? If you have good credit and decent income, you shouldn’t have any issue getting approved for a car. In as much as your making Atleast 2-3k, with credit score 690 to 700, you should be good. Interest rate should be dependent on credit and income

In this present State, it’s not about Nigeria or Africans, I can’t for anyone.
