The agitation for separation/restructure must be sustained for it to be achieved. None of these parasites wants to stay alone. Can anyone tell me what the likes of Jigawa, Kebbi have to offer Nigeria in terms of resources. They can barely stand on their own. They need the entire south to survive. It will happen but the agitation has to be sustained. |

Deeldorado:Not all of them are the same, a small fraction of them are intelligent and have conscience. Take for example the late Yaradua if he were alive he would have handled everyone with more fairness and justice and empathy unlike the bigoted unintelligent malu sitting there now. Infact the reason Nnamdi Kanu is getting more sympathy is because of the actions and comments of Buhari. Assuming Yaradua was the President, Kanus agitation would have been dead on arrival because he even went about it in an unintelligent way by cursing and abusing everyone. If you also look at the senate for example you see that one of the most vocal critics of Buharis excesses is Senator Shehu Sani who is from the north and also an APC senator 1 Like |

I thought restructuring is about giving more powers to the states. Do they want to create more states for each region or what? Share resources in line with percentage contribution to national purse simple. If you give more you get more. This population and parasitic ill is what restructuring should correct in the first place. It will make states to work hard. Most states are redundant even with their large population. Large population can breed a lot of income if put to use. China is an example. |

El rufai is correct just that hateful southerners are too myopic and blind to see it.globally, political divisions and resources are structured and shared first of all through population/demographics that is why every country periodically carries out population census.more amenities are usually ceded or allocated to areas with the highest population.it is a universal norm.you cannot give the same amount of to different people.you look wt the number and their consumption rate.it is only in nigeria that sometimes census is now seen as a child's play.bayelsa with less than two million people cannot have the same amount like kano with over 10million people.the 13% derivation they are getting is enough or it can be increased to 30 percent.any region that actually needs more resources and states is the north not the east and the south south based on their wealth.finally,we dont need political or economic restructuring.it is akin to renting a new apartment when the problem is from the couple's charactet not the house. |

This guy El Rufi sound very dumb this morning. Your people aren't equal because there's no oil in their land? What about mineral resources you guys haven't tapped, the human resources, many things in exclusive list that should be in concurrent list. If you weren't obsessed with oil like most people in this nation it would be obvious where you stand to benefit. Resource control is stupid the way most people want it to work because they essentially want bend over for their governor yet again. Instead scrap land use act have private land ownership. Mineral resources should be owned by land owner as well instead of exclusive domain of federal government. legislation on these should be in concurrent list and lastly have some sort of eminent domain law. According to him, even in population and resources, the regions of the country are not uniformly endowed. He, however, said though the representatives of the agitators were few in number, “the majority must always win.” most proponents think of their zones while no one thinks of the country. “Now, some people say because we have oil, let us have resource control. We must think of what is in the overall interest of Nigeria. 1 Like |

i can't believe this comment came from a sitting governor equals and unequal more like the ANIMAL FARM all animals are equals but some are more equal than others. fine population and land mass what is the contribution of the above mentioned indices to national economy? Niger state land mass is bigger than that of Holland but Holland earn 100 billion dollars yearly from processed agricultural products. let every region compete comparatively to bring out the best and improve the economy. EQUAL AND UN EQUALS HAVE NO PLACE IN OUR DEVELOPMENT. |

2nattie: I think Kebbi have food. Let them send their large population to farm and produce excessive food. If they can produce 20% of rice consumed in Nigeria, they should be okay. They can even export sef. Why choose to be parasitic when you can work hard. Lazy North. |

When people like El-Rufai and others in the North continue using population to justify why they should get more off Nigeria, that argument itself is faulty. Population in itself doesn't necessarily make a people great, but what they have to offer. The USA is the largest economy in the world and most powerful country also. The population is just about 380 million, whereas the population of China is over 1 Billion, India in same Billion. Japan is the 3rd largest economy in the world, but it's population is just about 170 million. Germany.................. Israel................. It's not about population. What do you have to offer? 1 Like |

This is just the begining of troubles in this country. In as much as there is religious, cultural and language differences there will be no unity, peace and good governance. More troubles are coming our way, until the component parts of this country are peacefully seperated. |

Do they have a common socio-cultural heritage? Can one man who is the president meet their diverse needs at same time? Would it be easier to manage if we were split based on similarities? 2 Likes |

What’s wrong with the idiots here on NL, they keep saying the north is this and that, yet they are the biggest fools and illiterate for allowing the northerners rule. You keep saying the northerners are poor but you’re everywhere on the streets of kano, kaduna robbing from what you call poor people. Any idiot that thinks he’s not satisfied with Nigeria should join a party and be the president. |

What dah fück is this stupid baboon talking about? You don't want Nigeria to break up. Fine, I don't either. But you ALSO don't want restructuring? What kind of mad goats are these people? So, what should those with legitimate grievances do? Make ridicuolous compromises, swallow their pain, and pat you cretins on the back? Remember the words of EMILIANO ZAPATA, "If there is no justice for the people, let there be no peace for the government." All he [OJUKWU] wanted, and proposed to the all-party meeting in Aburi, Ghana, was the loosening of the excessively rigid umbilical cords that held the Nigerian hotch-potch together, so that Nigeria could evolve into a weak federation-type government that would allow the major ethnicities some autonomy. http://usafricaonline.com/2012/02/29/nigerias-refusal-to-respect-aburi-accord-forced-ojukwu-to-lead-biafra-by-chike-momah/ You caused death, pain, destruction, burning hatred and war by your breaching of the Aburi accord. It's not too much to ask at this juncture that you faccking RETURN to it! Finito. LET US GO FURTHER APART A LITTLE AND BE IN PEACE THAN COME CLOSER TOGETHER AND CLASH!!! Tozara 3 Likes 1 Share |
