Anyone with information on schools that offer scholarship for master in chemical engineering in USA. I am interested in process design and simulation, alternative sources of energy and modeling and Optimization of chemical processes.

University of Wyoming (UW) is your best bet. Google it, contact the school well ahead of time.

Recently my godmother who is white cosigned for me to get a $24,000 private student loan to balance the cost of my studies. All I did was called her phone and she gave me her info and after the loan was approved, she signed her part to finalize the application. For someone to do that there must be a level of trust which not everyone gets. I think that's what TWoods is saying. I have been a family friend to this old lady and her family all my entire life in US and we do take vacation to visit her in NM.

Yes, what Twoods was saying is clear and geniune, despite the acute lack of grace in the construct, especially the part about why anyone would trust a Nigerian. Coming from a Nigerian, its sad (unless he is not a Nigerian). That was a fallacy of (extreme) overgeneralization. Bad people are everywhere; good people are everywhere. Besides, I don't know about others but the part of US I am, we (Nigerians) are not only trusted by our friends but generally very well respected, academically and otherwise. Just recently, a couple of white families living around threw a surprise birthday party for a Nigerian friend of mine and we had a good time. No, he doesnt run errands for them. We should value ourselves. We are worth it. We top charts. We are not scums of the earth or any such digusting sentiment. We shouldn't allow the evil perpetrated by a few to define us, much less proclaim that definition on ourselves. We should avoid making comments on public forum that others - the real racists - could use to deride us. The only point, which has already been established, is that to get a cosigner is difficult, unless you have strong ties with the person or the person has known you for long so trust had been built.

sometimes it's fustration that make people to ask questions and besides we know how to browse for info on the net more than each other. I remembered in my UG, people get answers to assignments from the net, that others could not see.

It's been a while and I have really missed this family of great value. School work has kept me isolated from online and social media activities. embarassed
American Education system is no child's play at all. Abeg our naija university system na just high school jare. Here you would learn a lot about responsibilities from paying bills to building credit scores to working hard and I mean super hard just to stay afloat. Academic competition is even an understatement because if you think you are smart, well here is the best place to exhibit all you have got as you would see a lot of smarter students too, but trust me Nigerians no dey carry last. I get to understand that the categories of Nigerians here are different from the ones back home because here they work hard and end up very successful. Where do I even start from sef. I greet everyone ooo and success to the spring 18 applicants. I will try to stay in touch as much as I can.

Note: apart from the school stress though, America is a very good place to be, it's worth the whole efforts of GRE exams, TOEFL and admission process money we all spent plus the visa hurdle. It's really worth it. You get to have the platform to become whatever you want to be with no restrictions (if you can work hard). It's all about what skills you can offer and not by who you know or where you came from grin

Hahahaha. The man to have singled out Nigeria is a figure of speech. You guys shouldn't be so upset about that because the country itself is in total shambles.

How many of you here are willing to relocate to your country?

Absolutely. I think people should evaluate “the person” on their own merits and track record and not by generalisation.

There are Nigerians who just want to do earn a honest living, and those who just want to be crooked.
