There was a bit of pandemonium in Yenagoa metropolis this morning with students rushing home from school while parents went to pick smaller ones when stories went round the state capital like wild fire that the Nigerian military had come to immunise kids in various schools across the state, parents were baffled at the suddenness of the gesture without any prior information from their children's school authorities or state govt for that matter hence the panic.

The Nigerian army has to do proper sensitization and community relations to gain the trust of the citizenry back, a lot of innocent blood has flowed, a lot of innocent people have died during this junta. Trust has to be earned all over again.

With the current wave of fear and panic been expressed by the citizenry especially within the southern region of Nigeria I think the Nigeria army should suspend permanently the free vaccination,it goes to show that the people don't trust them.It is not by force .

I think that should have been procedure from onset but this senseless rumor is dangerous to the children health, many of them will miss important immunization.

What important immunization are they going to miss that the parents haven't given them ? Do you wait for soldiers to come to your children's school before your kids get immunized ? Please talk with logic

Army is known for free medical outreach and they hold it every year, it's in their budget, they've never been known for impromptu immunisation of children especially without the knowledge of the state govts or state ministry of health. The Nigerian army has not been professional in this case
