What's with forgiveness and Tiago Ilori?? As far as I can tell, the last time there was any link between Nigeria and Ilori was after he signed for Liverpool. The boy was never interested in playing for us.. England and Portugal were his choice.. Now that he has depreciated and struggling in the championship, you want us to call him up?? Na so our national team bad reach 1 Like |

Mickael2: You can say push Omeruo who has more physique but that would be playing him in an unfamiliar role. Azeez would have been the goof. He was going to be light, not fast enough in a game of such intensity. With the hard tackles coming in, he would have been a goner. You are yet to say why Azeez would have been a success. Except that he did not come in. It was too fierce for him. |

elyte89: Ndidi was poo when he first made his debut for the Super Eagles. To make issue worse, he was a bench warmer who never tasted professional football. Here you are, he is one of our best in Europe and the national team. Give em another chance against Algeria then let us conclude. 1 Like |

forgiveness: Which full story? You are off point and calling it full story. The Spaniards play a possessive side which help their less physical players deal with hard, physical pressure. We do not play that way, so Azeez would have not been able to cope. It is so simple. Comprede? |

TheGoodJoe: Azeez is not fast?! I can now understand that you have never watched Azeez before. Omeruo has played the DMF role before. I mean even Ramos and Pepe have been deployed to the DMF role and they did rather well |

safarigirl: How many of these players do you know personally Knowing a player up front and personal knowing his Manager, his coaches, his agent's, then knowing his team mates, then seeing him in training and finally watching him live. That's really getting to know a player. Otherwise all you have is carefully orchestrated media hype and image. I will not use Nigerians players as examples. But contrary to media hype Balotelli is a really nice humble and jovial guy. Very emotional, friendly and exuberant. But what you have on the media is a badly behaved brat. Some Players the only truth they will hear is on this forum not the hype thier friends and family feed them. Leaving them to believe they are achieving when they are not. 1 Like |

Mickael2:Na wetin I still dey yarn...To you, playing beautifully is being tactical...That match against Guinea was bullcrap...Keshi played well against Spain, Argentina and France but lost...Y'all came out to confirm how tactically inept he was and how he has been lucky all this while...What were the matches Siasia won in Olympic again self..He never won any good side. |

Joebie: Why will coaches not deploy him at LB and how would they know if he wasn't tried in training? If you answer rightly then you will arrive at my submission that he Joel Obi must be tested in training or friendlies before he is thrown into the game as an AMF. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 11:18am On Oct 14, 2017 |
Mickael2: Tell me Azeez pace is close to the likes of Ambrose and Onazi? He is not. I think Azeez featured in the World Cup before that game and he was not stellar. Are you comparing Omeruo to the quality of Ramos and Pepe? Omeruo would have found it difficult adjusting to an unfamiliar role in such an intense, physical game. Even Rueben adjusted later in the game and won some balls. It was the intensity and physicality that would have troubled Azeez. They would have Slaughtered him on the pitch. Going with a big guy under such pressure was the best option. The French were still the better quality team. |

Humility017: The Eredivisie and Turkish league are ranked 11 and 10 respectively. In comparison to the EPL, La Liga, Bundesliga they are obscure or much lower level if you prefer. How many loan moves did Harry Kane have Loan moves improve your ability and potential particularly at a lower league. Omeruo has had enough opportunities but simply was not good enough. Chelsea have the best youth set up in the UK. But it's very difficult to break into the first team. However, consider these Chelsea players; Tammy goes on first first loan move and top scorer lights up the championship, Traore goes on loan to Vitesse then Ajax becomes the cream of the Eredivisie, Aina goes on loan to Hull within two weeks best RB in the championship, Solanke goes on loan didn't show much to me but enough in the U21 for Liverpool to buy he them displaces Origi. Shall I talk about the best striker in the premiership Lukaku went on two loans and as a teenager simply SCATTERED the EPL the rest is History. The loan moves didn't destroy his career it means he wasn't good enough. Why else does he find himself in Turkey. Just the brutal truth. Being asked to play with the U18's at Chelsea may seem like a demotion but they are very good. I have watched them it may have been designed as wake up call. He may discover that he could get bullied by those stong hungry African origin players. By the way last time I watched them play the entire team apart from the goalkeeper was black. So no racism here. I assure they will walk into many first teams in the championship. |

I assumed that MOST coaches won't. KC is not defensive minded. But Joel is offensive minded.. you get the drift? It depends on how the coach want to play and also on the team-mates strengths as well. Why is Musa Yahaya now being played as a Right Back? Player positions is not as rigid as you think. forgiveness: |

Danielnino00: Are Tammy Abraham, Felix Uduokhai and Torunarigha Ojokolo interested in playing for the Super Eagles? Tiago Ilori wanted to prove himself in England else he would have gone to Spain or France this season. However, he was part of the team that just lost out in the play off promotion final. He could have made it this season to the EPL. |
