has Madu even made the match day squad?.. ask me again.. then I should add him to the list.. Ask me to review my list at the end of the season.
I'm speaking for the moment. And all the players in my list are getting game time.

Thiago will not make my CB list, just so you know in advance. My major reason is.. he has TWO options, that's if he would even consider Nigeria as his third. haha.. very special case..

forgiveness:

Has this season ended?

Thank you. Load your Canon, Aim, Fire!
On a more serious note, I say it's still early days to start making such comparisons between Rohr and Siasia and I can see that you have deftly avoided lauding Rohr whether in his 'now famed' man management style or tactical ability but you are focusing on Siasia because the track record is there. Rohr needs a run of time too before we can settle this issue.

I know something about words:you repeat them often and then it sticks and sometimes passes as reality until it is examined. That's what they are doing now: he's not tactical, he's not tactical, he's not tactical and before long that notion becomes fixed. I repeat even with seven wins (five for the WCQ qualifiers, two friendlies) two draws and one defeat over a period of one year is in my estimation still too early to start making comparisons.

Gernot Rohr is a manager I consider being on road to redemption. His previous work experience in, Switzerland, France, Tunisia, Gabon and Niger wasn't rossy. He started coming good with Burkina Faso. His work in Burkina earned him an award in Germany.
Now getting this sort of manager who is on road to redemption was a huge gamble by the Nff. This much Pinick said himself.

Analysing Rohr critically, I can tell people not to expect a fire brand manager who will make lots of changes in his philosophy or team. The man is close to 70,at that age humans stick to what they know and feel most comfortable with.

I like way he has managed the team and his back room staff. In an interview recently, he said his assistants voted to choose who started between Iwobi and Simon. This was world class management in such a situation, in my opinion.

Tell me Azeez pace is close to the likes of Ambrose and Onazi? He is not. I think Azeez featured in the World Cup before that game and he was not stellar. Are you comparing Omeruo to the quality of Ramos and Pepe?

Omeruo would have found it difficult adjusting to an unfamiliar role in such an intense, physical game.

Even Rueben adjusted later in the game and won some balls. It was the intensity and physicality that would have troubled Azeez. They would have Slaughtered him on the pitch. Going with a big guy under such pressure was the best option.

The French were still the better quality team.

Keshi played Azeez out of position.

Under a different manager who created the system and had the formula of getting the best of the players in that system. Even their genius Mahrez is suffering in the current state. Shakespeare is just not it.
We also hated Guardiola and wished he didn't make the top four last season for benching Nacho.

Modified:Mahrez's heart is no longer with the club.So you can't expect him to give his best.

D.Drinkwater also left for Chelsea.

The club needed Nacho to boost their morale by scoring goals but that's not the case.

I assumed that MOST coaches won't. KC is not defensive minded. But Joel is offensive minded.. you get the drift?
It depends on how the coach want to play and also on the team-mates strengths as well. Why is Musa Yahaya now being played as a Right Back?

Player positions is not as rigid as you think.

Was Vicmo defensive minded before he was converted to his new role? grin

Mujtahida:

The South African loss was a great blessing. I started off this discussion by posing questions. The issue was that Rohr is conservative with people like Humility017 and goodjoe stressing that point(and truly I can concede that that is likely given that Rohr is 64 but heck even Aragones who set the Spanish national team rolling was old as well as Del Bosque who took over from him). I asked is he conservative as regards 1)player personnel considering the fact that he has reduced the teams average age? 2)is he conservative tactically?
At the end Siasia was thrown in as being far more tactically adept than Rohr but goldfish80 has stepped in to examine the much touted tactical nous of Siasia and Hmmmm, hmmm

Finally you have given a fine expose on this issue but they will say the team has won the matches it won because of Rohr's man management skills and not tactics. As for me I feel time will tell. We would come back to have this discussion again in the future.

Anyone, with a keen eye will notice 2 things about Rohr's team

1. We are more organized especially defensively. I do not hold my breath because of a corner kick anymore.

2. Our transitions from defence to attack are quicker.. see our goals against Algeria and Cameroon. Even the Ighalo missed chance against Zambia.

These do not come from man management, it comes from work.

Siasia style of play is all out attack, no defensive discipline. We score 5, you score 4... Against better teams, you will be found out.

You are on the top of your game today!!. To me that defence is key to all that Rohr would do for the Super Eagles, not so much the attack or midfield but the defence. It has to be impregnable and that's why I am desirous for us to capture the German trained defenders.

Kelechi has not played a full game for Leicester this season, but you just want to tank him because it makes you feel good and right.

Leicester worked well under Ranieri, Shakespeare is steering the team wrong, just like Koeman is steering Everton wrong.... Maybe it's just that, or maybe the whole team want to change the manager.

We can not tell, but stop slating Kelechi thinking you are coming at thegoodjoe, leave the boy alone.

I agree with you 100%. Rohr is what I will liken to Lewis Hamilton who has been given a Formula 1 Mercedes car (Super Eagles), hence the results. When you give a Molue driver (siaone and co.) a Formula 1 car what do you expect?

This is how the world works"people complement you when you do well and speak against you when you are not doing well. That's the world.

Am just against the Idea of having Kelechi as a starter,I mean as a no 9 because it will make us look average.

Rooney is not a Nigerian likewise D.Drinkwater if they were,I'll also be against the idea of starting them for their national teams which has nothing to do with rubbishing the player.

Modified:

Let's face reality, leave preference for a particular player or players aside because a coach and a scout starts and scouts the best.

Lastly,to me after Icon4s,Goodjoe follows we are all learning from the both.

By the way, football365.com have Kelechi on their top 10 disappointments of the season.
He came in at no 7

7) Kelechi Iheanacho
Ah, the supposed £25m bargain of the summer, the striker with the ridiculous goals-per-minute ratio who had scored 21 times in two seasons despite never really playing football at Manchester City, who was so highly valued that City insisted on securing first dibs ahead of him inevitably scoring 20 goals in his first season. Yes, that Kelechi Iheanacho. He has so far started one Premier League game, scored no goals and attempted two shots (both blocked).
“His goalscoring record is excellent. He gives us another dimension. He wants to get better, he wants to play regularly and hopefully we can give him that platform,” said manager Craig Shakespeare before the season, but the Leicester manager cannot quite bring himself to split up the partnership of Jamie Vardy and Shinji Okazaki. This is the club who have made 11 signings in the last three windows and yet, of those, only Harry Maguire and Wilfred Ndidi started the 0-0 against Bournemouth at the weekend. They don’t like incomers in Leicester.

Football is serious buisness. People get judged from the first minute. If he doesn't buckle up real fast and get back to the form that saw him join Man city in the first place, he could slip into obscurity in no time. Football can be unforgiving.
