Slimberry2002:
Goodmorning. Please I score 43, Department of botany, is there any hope for me?
Yes, there is hope for you as long as one scored up to 40% and above in the EPT and your department/faculty will conduct another test. The University's general cut-off mark in the EPT was put at 40% in order to guarantee that many applicants move or QUALIFY to the next stage - Departmental Test. Although 40% in a scale of 100 marks is a poor score in virtually all examinations but it has been considered by the University for the sake of giving almost every applicant a fair chance.

The only stress or worry one should have is how to do BETTER in the next stage. Do not be surprised that many applicants that supposedly scored very high in the EPT may not do well in the next stage (i.e. Departmental Test). Mastering good English or being proficient in it does not necessarily mean one is brilliant academically. So, I urge you to go back and dust your textbooks from level 100 to final year and start reading because it is not really going to be easy at all!

I believe many Departments will conduct their test within next week and early part of November unless such Departments have few applicants and in need of students. The test can be written, oral or both.

Am aware. But, that is their own pattern, other departments have theirs. My department always conduct theirs few days or weeks after the EPT score is out.
