forgiveness: Your Abdul Jeleel Ajagun is a wack player. He is also far older than he claims. I have it on good authority he was 25 years when he played Nigeria '99 U-20 World cup. Never ever compare Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Nwakali to that old toad as they are truly young and really good ballers. 5 Likes 3 Shares |

Mickael2: Firstly, I am a patriotic Nigerian. Secondly, I choose objectivity as against bias. I have noticed how you address issues and I must say you should try tone it down a bit. Let us understand one fact, this issue of dropping deep only aids buid up plays but also only works in a team set up with clear objectives. To score goals! Iheanacho is not exactly gonna take the ball from the goal keeper and still find time to pass to himself to score. Its one thing or the other. It cant be both. At the start of the second half he did drop deep. But leicester team is not a team well drilled in the art of progressive attack. They lack a play maker. And that is where ManCity is thriving now. Take out DeBruyne and you will see that half your problem of facing city is solved. I cant ever recall a time in the game when Ndidi made a through pass with the aim of pickin out Iheanacho. His passes were all sideways. So are you trying to change his role from an SS to a 10? That is where objectivity comes in. All i saw Iheanacho do yesterday was make runs with no one in particular picking him out. Leicester didnt look like a team that had a 10. And if they think they had and are referring to Mahrez as the 10, then they are deluded. I would av expected a solid bond between vardy, mahrez and iheanacho. But it was almost like each one playin for himself. Thats why I said Vardy, all pace , no brain. He has the energy and the grit but not channelling it wisely. It is the understanding of what electricity can do that gave rise to what we see today. Average 11000 volts can kill. Yes we know ! But is it desirable in that mode? Is it productive? To use such electricity, you have to step it down to something usable. If you dont believe me, plug ur phone directly to 240v source using live and neutral wires instead of ur phone charger. If you check my posts, I am not one of those that sing Iheanacho's praises. I analyse and I say what i saw just the way it is. Let us understand that the dude just had his second start and is just coming back from injury. What I see working for shakespeare is his blatant kick and follow soccer which at best earns him a draw. You will agree with me that this is not the same Leicester team under Ranieri. Running down Iheanacho just so as to prove ur earlier assertions or assessments of him in your previous discourses with other people is a bit unfair. What makes a boat float is not what makes a plane fly and so we have to be objective when we discuss. I never ran down Vardy to make Iheanacho look good. You have to look at the way Leicester team is set up wholistically. Personally, I cant say I am surprised at the result they got. I couldnt care less if they scored after Iheanacho was subbed. I care more about the quality that comes to fore when a coach plays with attack in mind. With the way leicester is set up, Iheanacho needs our prayers! 17 Likes |

TheGoodJoe: You condemned Mourinho's tactics against Liverpool and also stating it made Rashford look less than average, and that it will have a negative toll on his game. And I am telling you it is not every game that Mourinho adopts that kind of tactical approach. Playing attacking football and dominating for 8 games or so and being defensive for just one game will destroy Rashford's game? Besides why single out Rashford? 3 Likes |

TheGoodJoe: Ok as we have quality talents but failed to develop them does it mean we can match the Brazilians blow for blow and play an all attacking football against them? |

TheGoodJoe: Yes I know this but you are also aware that the video analysts also study clips of the players in their various clubs. Rohr does not need to invite evry d!ck and Tom. Even you from the comfort of your living can tell which players are up to the mark or not. Rohr may only invite players that look promising and look like they can add value to the team. These ones he invites and observe closely and not to throw the whole camp open for over a 100 players to come for selection. 3 Likes |

kennysville: read carefully the bold parts and tell me if you are not saying what I said, the only problem is you are not saying it entirely. First we have to understand the Leicester system. Under Ranieri they played kick and follow soccer, sit deep, absorb pressure then attack, Ranieri bought players that could make that system work, players that can strike the ball over a long distance and still find their target and such a system requires a point man and not a playmaker. The Leicester system has never had a true playmaker, under Ranieri Mahrez was a pseudo-10, operating almost exclusively from the wings and rarely behind the striker. Ranieri understood the strength of his players and bought players that suit his style(Musa is a speedster for counter attacks, Slimani is an old-fashed 9, a true focal point) and Leicester thrived, nobody noticed the lack of a true playmaker and they didn't have to. In comes Shake-something and he decides he wants to play attractive football, 25million is splashed and in comes Nacho, a support striker turned 9 with good playmaking skills and excellent build-up participation, the coach wants to turn Mahrez into a playmaker overnight? No. Then does the coach expect Iheanacho to collect from the Gk and score? No. The idea is for Iheanacho to be the focal point, drop into midfield, exchange passes with midfielders, set off Vardy or collect the ball, play one-two with Vardy and create something, it was blatantly clear yesterday that they all wanted to bring Iheanacho into the game what choice do they have? Okazaki who is considerably shorter has more aerial presence than Nacho so do you lob passes towards him against a 6'4 defender? Or do you send him a ball over the top to chase? He doesn't have pace. So whenever Iheanacho is in the game, the players have to start playing short ground passes, no Leicester player is known for defence splitting passes(yes not even Ndidi) so you expect them to do something they don't know how to? No, all they can do is make safe passes and wait for Iheanacho to come and collect the ball since he is the SS that is his job and Iheanacho failed in that aspect yesterday. When Slimani came in everything changed, they could have subbed in Slimani alone and they'd still score because all the Leicester players can find a target man using aerial balls and that was why the game got better for them. The problem here is that Nacho cannot be that point man and the other players cannot turn into Barcelona players overnight, theyare counter-attackers not possession-oriented players. Take out DeBruyne and you don't know your problem. Your real problem is David Silva, maybe because he doesnt score golazos but he is the real playmaker there. But that is City's system and except you purchase 3 playmakers Leicester can never play like this. Nacho made the wrong choice, but the time for blaming the Leicester system is over, he needs to adapt and he has spent 4months there and stop giving me that injury crap. I did not run down Nacho, I merely pointed out that he had a bad game but then you said Vardy is not an intelligent player, so who needs that advice more? |

Icon4s: You can see you just want to argue and not even paying attention to what you are quoting. I did not say every Tom Dick and Harry. I said invite a large pool of players. The video analyst who has worked with Rohr on selecting a small pool will do the same by selecting a larger pool. Rohr can do a more in depth study for the very best in each role. Gerrit? |

Icon4s: Even now, we can play attacking football. What affects us is our selection. If the current Spanish boss, Lopetegui is our coach, he would not select a park bus squad bit select players that will suit a possessive, attacking setup. It is the manager and not the talent pool that is making us play in a conservative manner. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 10:33am On Oct 17, 2017 |
Icon4s: I was talking in respect of Iheanacho. If Rashford who has posted some good performances this season looked poor in that game, imagine how low his rating would be if he played in such system all games. That is all I said. I detest Park bus but that is not my point. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by kennysville(m): 10:44am On Oct 17, 2017 |
Mickael2: Different strokes for different folks. Its how you see it and I will have to respect that. Time will tell. As far as I know, with the way things are, Leicester needs a new coach as well as a playmaker. If that is not there, then they beta be ready to have 20 drawn games and the rest lost. On deBruyne, that dude is the reason city is thriving because of his final balls. Someone that gave all the assists for city to put 7 past Stoke is the threat. Neutralize the threat and we see if they can score as high as they did. Thats why I said half the problem is solved |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mickael2(m): 11:05am On Oct 17, 2017 |
kennysville: this talk about sacking Shake-something won't happen. The board understands that they are not a small team anymore so they can't counterattack all 19teams they face, they need another plan for smaller teams which is why Iborra was bought along with Nacho so this is a long term project for them and unfortunately I think it will take Nacho atleast 4 seasons to perfect this strategy with complete preseasons. But that is Leicester's business. My business is this World Cup coming up in less than 8months, |

People should keep in mind that Manchester United managed only one shot in 90 minutes. If the system is bad for offensive players, it is hard to make something out of it. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by forgiveness: 11:21am On Oct 17, 2017 |
EEGA: First of all, I do not regard 19 minutes of game time as chance, to make matter worse we were losing and up against team parking the bus. Secondly, Iheanacho is not on loan from Manchester City, he's now Leicester City full time player while Kayode is a Manchester City player on loan to Girona-fc. Meaning levels don change. Thirdly, both Girona-fc and Leicester-city-fc are both relegation candidate teams but Girona-fc plays beautiful football while Leicester city is currently playing kick and follow. Fourthly, Kayode choosed Manchester City ahead of Newcastle United because Guardiola personal placed a call through to Kayode that he wants him in Manchester City. That was the motivation behind his decision to choose Manchester City. Lastly, I concur with your last statement 'score goals as a striker or loose your position in the team. 2 Likes |
