monistick: Good afternoon everyone. please, Is there anyone who can shed more light on how to fill the details for recipients for WES evaluation. After adding recipients , I noticed it showed that it would be sent electronically to the institutions. Is that the normal way it is being sent to the institutions? Does WES now send electronic reports? That's a good one. There's nothing wrong in whether the report is electronic or hard copy. Is it a problem? WES is trusted and reliable over there and they deal with many Schools there. |

V.O: Pass me your Passport and I20, please be fast I don't have all day
Me: Passed it sharply
V.O: (Picked my passport and scan it, without picking up my I-20) Why are going to the US.
Me: I'm going to the US to study a Masters Degree in Nutrition Sciences at the Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas.
V.O: Why are you going to the US when you can study it online.
Me: Nutrition Science is a practical applied science that focus on dietary concerns and health issues relating to food choices, eating and medicine and going to the US will provide the best practical knowledge (V.O cuts me).
V.O: How many schools did you apply to?
Me: 3 schools, Texas Woman's University, Florida International University and Oklahoma State University.
V.O: Why this school?
ME: I choose TWU over others because the program focuses on Nutrition Intervention, Diet Therapy and also Nutrition Intervention using Evidence-Based nutrition practice which is Inline with my Career Path. I also fell in love with Prof. Vicky Imrhan Research on the role of Nutrition in the prevention and treatment of the chronic disorders like Diabetes and Cancer.

I think she decided when she said its a program you can study online. You should be more convincing on why your physical presence is mostly needed. |

Legally, your spouse would not be allowed to do anything, be it to work or do business. She needs legal residence to do any of those two and also a business license to operate a business. Everything here is controlled and when it comes to business you nearly always need a permit or license to do most things. Her best bet would have been her to enter on F1 visa also like you, instead of as a dependent, so she can go to school here at the same time (a US degree is very necessary here) you are going to school and also be able to work on campus, thus killing two birds with one stone. Your kids can then be dependents on you two, which makes the burden much less strenuous for you. My 2 cents. Please @bigfrancis21 and @lagosismyhome, kindly reply my email |

You did well. You obviously practiced and gave reasonable justifications except for the one important question . This is just a case of choosing the wrong program. VOs check you against section 214b, once your intent is unclear, then you get the reject paper. Since most schools are able to offer their nutritional science program completely online, you really don't have any cogent reason to be physically present in the US. Perhaps, you would have made a genuine case for research activities. Using a particular research lab as the motivation for applying and how hands-on experience is all you need. Also, if I were to be in your shoes, I would find a school with the same program and strong research labs. If you decide to change your major only, then you should be ready to justify why you chose to change your major. They've got your application history. |

Congratulations. I am making an application for a masters program in Eastern Illinois University can we connect. I sent you PM. My email address okparavivian2008@yahoo.com Pasblack: A journey I was forced to take..... about 3yrs ago, my who was so keen about me coming over to the usa forced to apply to the same school who got admitted to and I obliged. Since it was not my own plan, I paid application fee and did not send my transcript till a year later after which I wrote the school to waive TOEFL for me because in addition to my first decree, I have obtained a professional diploma but the school rejected by saying I had finished the program over 2years and as such my proficiency in English needs to be proved (as if I don forget how to speak the language over time). I enrolled for TOEFL then on the day of the exams, I was not allowed to write the exams because I had an expired International passport. I was so pained and frustrated (at this time, I already developed interest in schooling abroad). I decided I was going to renew my passport then re-enrolled. I however wrote the school requesting them to tick transcript as received on my account checklist on their site. that was wen another person responded to my mail and told me he has received the transcript and having gone through it he has decided to push for TOEFL waiver for me....which he did (first miracle). I was admitted by the school and I booked appointment at the embassy (21/7/2017). I discovered after booking that my current place of work(as filled in DS-160 does not really relate to the program I'm going for and that gave me a lot of fear. So I started praying about it. prepared the best I can then I went for the interview yesterday at 6:30
Went through all the checks but I think there was an issue with my ds-160 because after the biometrics, others were told to keep all other docs expect their passport and I-20 but in my case I was told to hold on to it as other checks I have passed thru have been looking at the same form for too long than necessary. Eventually assigned to window 2, 'a black american'. She approved only one person before me (trust me, over 12 people were ahead of me) I was so nervous and scared........

Please I want to pay the 212usd fee too..how do I have it reduced to 212usd? I tried removing myself as recipient but it was looking impossible.. What do I do please? Bigfrancis21 and all You don't need to make yourself a recipient because they will upload a copy of your transcript online for you to view so you do NOT necessarily need a hard copy anyway. Go to your account profile and edit your mailing address to that of the school you wish WES to send your transcript to upon completion, no need for extra recipient except you are applying to more than one school that also needs WES evaluation. That brings your total payment down to $212. You should be able to remove the extra recipient (to yourself). 1 Like |

nevicochidinma: Guys please what exchange rate for naira to dollars do schools use when it comes to Bank financial statement, i was thinking is 305 been CBN official rate. please help and clarify me...cos i have googled am seeing 305.44 and 360.55. Use N365 or N370 to be on the safe side. Most of these schools have a currency exchange website that they go to to convert foreign figures to their US equivalent and these websites use the black market exchange rate (which regular banks in Nigeria also use), rather than the official CBN exchange rate (the rate at which Nigerian banks buy dollars from CBN). 1 Like |
