Forget the job unless you are desperate but know that if you take it, you will be used as a slave and may not have access to the said certificate easily. They want to bond and enforce it indirectly. You will also be signing more papers that will further complicate things if you accept such job. Imagine yourself collecting same salary for years.

My 1cent advice for you is never allow the employer to enslave you...They want to keep hold of your discharge certificate because
1. They will have a leverage anytime they go wrong with you
2. You will be enslaved an not encouraged to look for other jobs when everything turn the way you don't like

If the pay is so good, give them a well scanned copy, but be prepared for the worst when they discover or better still tell the employer straight that you can't allow them to have it, the employer attitude will give you a tip of how sensible the job will later be

I guess you graduated before the year 2015. Those of us that have the one issued from 2015 upward know what I mean here.

[/Life is a risk.You got this offer when thousands are outside waiting to have one.Since the vault in the bank will house the certificate I don't see any problem if you want to leave the establishment honourably without ant indictment.Make more copies of it for use in search of new greener pasture an use the receipt to buttress your point during interview about its whereabout.You may seek a lawyer's opinion and possible document a stament at a police station and also keep it as future defence.

When u get home, do a coloured photocopy of your NYSC discharge certificate, u can't really not differentiate it from the original...

Give them the photocopy that looks like original and keep the original inside your house...

You could go to jail for 21 years if the lid is blown off the case. Both the employer and the NYSC will bring you down on your knees on different counts.
