It is to my notice that Lagos State University has concluded the admission process and in the
process, they have completed the shortlisting of
their successful candidates.

The claim is that the admission process was not
transparent and fair based on the fact that it was
biased by the university's favouritism of Lagos state
indigenes.

There was no publication before the jamb exams
and admission process indicating that there would
be preferences for Lagos state indigenes.

But instead, the university went ahead to exploit over
32000 candidates by charging them #5000 for the
Post UTME process, and in the process, the
university has shattered the dreams of thousands of
candidates and rendering them with no hopes for
the next academic year.

Moreover, the university was harsh in their decision
to admit only 3500 candidates out of 36500
candidates that seemed admission into the
university. The university decided to admit just 9.5%
of the candidates, even for an exam, that grade is a
total failure. The university didn't care of what would
happen to the remaining 90.5%. That is not fair
treatment!!

Even,the so-called indigene preference was not fair
and transparent. A lot of indigenes with high marks
were not admitted while those with lower marks
were admitted. This is corruption of the highest
level!!, The university should look into this with
great precision.

Besides why would a university say it only admits indigenes from a partivular state..

We would change from state of origin to state of residence..Cause tribalism is really hindering our nations progress..

The truth I know some people who used the influence of some and with the help of money they put there name as part of those in the admission list.
That admission most people got there because of who knows who.

The university decided not to overstretch it's facilities.
You need to see how those that were admitted for 2016/2017 session were receiving lectures. I'm sure you wouldn't want anyone you know to be subjected to that kinda pitiable learning condition. Besides, this is not the first time 3500 students will be admitted for a session. The same number of students were admitted for 2015/2016 academic session.
Because more people decided to choose LASU this year doesn't mean that the school will admit more and risk the chance of some it's department loosing NUC accreditation.

Why didn't they announce the cut off mark before shortlisting. For us to know the decision is not biased, they should proclaim the cut of f mark of each courses.

Is it a must to school in lag,that's the way it is in every state university

maybe merit don get another meaning be dat, merit should be best and a major percentage of the admitted students should be on merit, not having majority admitted because of where they belong in the society.

Following wat a frnd of mine told me, E said the merit list contain candidates with 68% and above and some below dat their ( courses are not competitive). There is another list coming out in some weeks time.

the case of LASU is pathetic. How can someone who had 65% aggregate get admitted to study medicine and surgery when there are aspirants that had 73%+ being denied admission.... how in earth did that happen

I thought Oloyede (Jamb registrar) said no "under the table" admission this year with the introduction of central admission processing system (CAPS).

University of Ibadan does not have catchment Area
