Good day all, congratulations to all the new mothers and thanks to all those that kept this thread alive.

Please, my friend is suspecting that her host has her childs ssn, and may be using it....and she wants to report to IRS after i told her about them..... the issue now is,she is back in Nigeria.... can she report from Nigeria or she has to be in US before she reports..... please @mamao, @justwise and any other person that has info on this should please help out.

Thank you

I don't see any reason why you can't do that from Nigeria, but before you do that try and confront your host first to be absolutely sure.

There is a way you can confirm if the SSN is being used online... Someone posted a link to it back then, you'll have to search wayback or hope the person replies you again. I think you can also flag/report the SSN as compromised via the same means (web)

Hey guys!

So please no body here joined this forrum to make an enemy out of another person!

It bothers me that a lot of teachers have gone silent, I just hope all this victim-talk did not chase them into silent mode...

If the teachers don't talk, again, infomatiom stops..and this will just be a group for Eyah, sorry, try again and congratulations on you safe delivery & trip...

It's a little bit of criticism that helped this group find the answers to solve the VOs & POEs puzzles...if we were not critical we would not have found the answers that we are all making use of today!

Please lets be a good sport & appreciate that we even got responses from people interested in our posts...
It is well with us.

Ayotundesh:

Honestly I was going to say people say they have read through from the beginning and have learnt but say they have one question though...
And the answer to their question is 4 pages behind... smiley

I think this is one of the reasons most gurus decided to into ghost mode. Someone would say he/she has read from part 1 to 5 and still come and ask for a good hospital/doc in Houston Texas... I mean shocked shocked By the time the guru replies and rightly tells the person to read up, other newbies would defend the OP & tell the guru that he should have just unlooked if he wasnt going to answer the question. So most peeps are just unlooking. plus its kinda ridiculous to be answering the same questions over and over and over again. Most newbies just want to be spoon fed and not take the time to read/learn it by themselves

My brother, pple to me are lazy to do more reading and more research online and that is why they will be asking for doctors name in oakbend hospital... even when i talked to the hospital that they should give me list of drs affiliated to them but they told me to go online to search which i have done and written to all of them and have gotten reply back from all of them. i only like to read transcript of visa interview and POE experience. People should read more and do more research online

So based on all the feedback I received during my last post..

Thanks so much for this very very informative post.

Please was your passport returned to you before the interview?

I applied for dropbox two weeks ago and got a mail yesterday asking me to pick up my passport and schedule an appointment. I will get my passport from dhl tomorrow.

I asked about 4 friends who had been interviewed after dropbox and none of them had to pick up their passports before the interview.

... before the interview.

Yes, I picked up my passport before the interview. That was how I knew I had to schedule an appointment. God's best!

I can't seem to figure out how to add the post to this comment but a lady, NaijaMama in part 4 of this thread (Aug 2016) you can search with her name, said she told the border officials (not visa officers though) straight up that she chose the U.S. to birth because she wanted her child to be a citizen because of the options it gives her child in the future and she was not questioned for more than 5 minutes. Neither was she sent to secondary inspection. If that's the true reason why 90% of people go to the U.S. to birth, I guess we should be confident and tell the truth. Abi?

just heard from a friend that telling the VO that "better medical health care" as your reason for going to give birth in the us doesnt fly anymore... meanwhile in part 2 of this thread, someone advised that we can choose to tell that to the VO... and also go further in explaining how the cost was cheaper in the US than in the UK... as the VO asked her that during her interview,
please.. do help me on the most smartest answer to give...as na still God dey help person.

hello fellow mamas and papas, to God be the glory i had my babies twin girls. But i thank God we are all hale and hearty. The cost was much because one of the babies had to be in the ICU. But at least we are all back home.gone for my passport and everything is coming on steady.

I doubt they will call you for interview, bc you used the visa for what you got it for and when you later went for delivery, you told the cpb, so no they wont call you.
You will have to explain to the cpb when you travel for vacation why you didn't complete your bill though, you can explain that you intend to sort it out on this journey as it was a discrepancy blablabla.

Someone blurted out citizenship to a cpb officer some post back and she was given a really tough time..... i Quess it depends on who you meet and the poe in question.
saying the truth doesnt mean blurting it out tactlessly, you need to apply diplomacy. Else the truth becomes offensive.

You can combine both reasons, Eg for better medical care and the added advantage of being a us citizen which opens him to better options in the future.

I don't know if this is exactly true.

I got my visa Sept 2015 for a conference. Went for the conference in October 2015 and stayed for just 5days. Got pregnant March 2016, travelled Oct 2016 to give birth. Sent notifications of intent AND declared at POE.

Applied for renewal as I need to attend a meeting in the US but was called for follow up interview.

Na where I dey now be that.

Point is, no one can predict who they will call and who they won't

Pay up the balance before reapplying again to avoid petty stories.

Hello All,

Thanks for the information and support. My journey ends here. Just some tips based on my wife second US birthing experience
1. You need two valid means of identifications(preferably driver's licence & international passport) to process and collect US docs(Birth certificate,US Passport). My wife licence expired before she traveled and she forgot this requirement so it was not as straightforward as her first experience. Alternatively, you can use work ID or any US resident to identify you.

2. Visa on Arrival is way cheaper and hassle free than it is made to look(the only cheaper option on the long run is if you are in atlanta and go for the baby nigerian passport). Just send a mail to oa@nigeriaimmigration.gov.ng requesting for one using the format shared previously on the forum and you would be responded to early enough. in my case,I got a response the same day and please do it yourself and dont pay any processing money. You only need to pay the actual application fee to immigration which can be made on arrival($180 using card and $190 using cash though. Surprisingly,my wife mentioned they did not even look at any letter at Lagos Airport to give our baby the visa. Note that houston immigration requested to sight the actual email so you may want to keep your phone and email handy to avoid complications

Please can you send me a sample of the mail you send for the visa on arrival
Thanks

Am always available on PM to assist with any further information.Good luck to all expecting mums and Dads. God Bless

At time they call people for interview if you stayed long in the US,just to confirm if you had a baby there and also if you paid your bills.

She was given a visa for vacation, which she went for..... months later she took in and also went to deliver....

Yes, Ability to pay her bills, but the bills in question are not hers according to her.

The bill was for a service she didnt use, which was nicu. She said her baby didnt go to nicu. So she is thinking sorting it out when she travels instead of paying for what she didnt use.

Her mistake was not following it up and thrashing it then and there, or either calling or mailing them from Nigeria to sort it out, before now.
