Every state wants to own an airport, the one million dollar question should be, would it be viable or just another elephant project
for an economy as small as Nigeria's ? The answer is No, but for a country with this kind of population size? Ofcus it would be viable. The conditions just has to be favourable. Some states in the USA own more than ONE major airport. what I'm trying to say is this,
Less people travel by air in Nigeria, the already existing airports lack patronage ,that is not to say that they aren't needed. fix the economy, create more mid class citizens and you'll see that every state owning an airport is very viable .

Keep kwayet bro. U ain't Enugu person. we don't behave like this.
BTW a Commercial state like Anambra state is due to have its own Airport especially when states like delta, Ondo and Katsina have.

This is a good project. Thumbs up to the man at the helm. But I doubt if this project will be completed under this same administration. May God direct Obiano.

Cursed envious frustrated old man. What concerns you with what is going on in a progressive Anambra. Golden Tulip Agulu lake, the only 5 star facility in the SE opens next month to the envy of you hopeless old hag.

Abagworo you should be more concerned on your useless Imo state where your useless gov is building statues instead of developing infrastructures and paying salaries.

Lol... Of course, as much as having a cargo airport and one that can handle transit flight is welcomed as it would generate revenue for the state, this is all election gimmick; not with the person who is an egomaniac, having the annoying phrase "Willie is working" being adorned everywhere in the state. Like I said earlier, Obiano is more of a media governor than an actual one. If you're working, your works would speak for you.

What works do they have on ground? After election, the site would be abandoned and another governor would come campaign with airport structure again. We should be wise by now.

The project is already ongoing as we speak. I am just displaying the 3-D because people have not seen it before now.

you were able to have access to 3D images and MOU signing pictures which are suppose to be classified documents but you cant show us a real life picture if the thing is actually being constructed. OP until you show us real time pictures and not 3D we don't believe this trash

We are waiting! It's so unfortunate that this government has become so desperate and rudderless all in a bid to stay for another 4years in Awka even though they sincerely do not have much achievements to show. I had so much belief in Obiano about 4years ago judging by his exposure in the corporate world but alas, I have been hood winked! I can only wish him the best but I wish he had concrete achievements on ground, which Wolff have given him a landslide victory but greed, pettiness, non performance, lack of foresight and vision has robbed him of a golden opportunity to write his name in the history hall of fame of Anambra greatest leaders. Anambra is not where you bandy 3D pictures and numerous MOUs to deceive the electorate, we are too sophisticated for such nonsense. None of his e warriors have come out to highlight his achievements in fours years, all they do is insult, cyber bully genuine and objective comments. Tell us what Obiano has done in 4years to deserve another 4years: roads, hospitals, electricity, schools, markets, water schemes, etc

Things are not as easy as they seem, and don't forget we are still struggling to rise out from recession. This government has right plans- forget what the self-acclaimed profs and advert makers say. In fact the government of this country should have taken a cue from Obiano as to how things are run in times of recession. We may pretend to be blind as much as we want but let's give this guy and A.P.G.A. a chance. A.P.G.A. hasn't disappointed us so far with her choice of candidates yet.

nigeria is the funniest country i have heard of, use trains, no, use inland waterways...no, airport this and that.

nigeria is small in terms of landmass but every state wants to have an airport, no matter how substandard, some of these states that normally should be lumped together sef.

other means of transport that will be of benefit to the common man and connect cities and rural areas with raw materials is discarded in favour of expensive airports that only function once in a while.

owerri has an airport, i port harcourt has one, i can throw a stone from owerri to port harcourt, abia will soon get one, distance from aba to oyigbo is unnoticeable, distance of aba to PH is trekable. bayelsa will get one soon.

akwaibom has one cross river has one, in these tiny areas, benin has one, warri has one.

now anambra wants one while one is in asaba, distance from asaba to onitsha is like from here......to here, i wonder.

airports are good, but that shouldnt be our focus now.

The fact is that many things worked in his favour. The chief among them is Mr Peter Obi coming out again to contest and hijack PDP. The second is that Anambra North has only 4 years remaining in their turn and none of the other contenders from there can keep to it. The third, is that he, Chief Obiano has performed above average and had a clear vision which Obi lacked. He adopted measures that reduced poverty in the state despite the recession. There was more money circulating in the state from the prompt payment of salaries to civil servants and appointment of close to a thousand aides, that alone had ripple effects in that aspect. The fourth is that he is a peacemaker, he has basically united the different interest groups in the state and has built a remarkable investor confidence for the state. And he is ambitious in his projects, take for instance that airport project and the bridges he redesigned to capture a futuristic models.
Although, he has not spread community road projects as his predecessors but he is just 3½ years there. Except for the roads done by Mrs Virgy Etiaba, Obi did no roads in his first 4 years.
Obiano will win the 2nd tenure but I would like him to round up his campaigns by itemizing clearly the things he will do in his 2nd 4 years particularly roads and I also expect that he will put up some signature projects, special intervention projects in the education sectors ( (Architectural master pieces at the State University, school of Agric and selected model secondary schools, possibly employ more teachers) and attracting more industries.

Your comment is useless. Only Lagos, Rivers, Anambra, Kano, Delta needs airport in Nigeria. Once Anambra completes it's own airport, all those mushroom airports shall close with the exception of Lagos and Rivers.

Anambra airport city will be Nigeria's busiest and most viable airport in Nigeria after Lagos and Abuja. Anambra has the largest middle class population after Lagos.
